I got to the end of my day and felt full, like I had been eating all day. I wasn't. I ate 3 meals and zero snacks and was a bit shy of my "ideal" calorie range. Im still pretty new so it may be more calories than I need anyway, but WOW!

I agree 100% with everything James mentioned. This new WOE has been the most incredible thing to happen to my health. I can't imagine ever going back to eating those empty calories, and feeling so very sluggish after a "carb crash".

My energy levels are through the roof, and the high-fat diet has led me naturally into intermittent fasting. I only eat when I'm hungry...and as it turns out, it's only twice a day :)

Very different from my previous higher-carb diet, where I'd eat a piece of toast in the morning, only to be hungry within 30 minutes, only to eat another piece of toast, and then chips, and then cookies/cupcakes/muffins. To be at the point where I was eating 1700 cals/day and STILL not feeling satisfied. It's no wonder I gained so much weight!!! Now I'm closer to 1100 most days and the weight is melting off, and I don't feel deprived AT ALL.

When I eat Keto, I'm finding myself to be satisfied all day :)

Why Keto?

There are a few reasons. Humans don't need any carbohydrates at all. We need protein for muscles, organs and tissue, and we need essential fats.

So protein and fat can be burned for energy, or used for structure, ... flexible. Carbohydrates can only be burned for fuel.

If you want to loose weight, and want to cut calories, the choice is obvious. Cut the nutritionally empty carbs. Of course the most extreme example of carbohydrates is sugar, which is super refined carbs, no minerals, vitamins, ... nothing, just calories.

As a bonus, eating Keto really controls blood sugar (good for diabetics), and really controls hunger (which of course is related to blood sugar). So, in controlling hunger it is much easier to eat less and loose weight with this way of eating.

So Keto's focus is to cut empty calories, and for many a path to weight loss with less hunger and struggle.

If you have these experiences, or agree please post a comment. If you don't agree... hmmm, I'd be curious why not.
