I can add to this from experience. Many days I have to force myself to eat. I know for a fact if I don't eat, my loss starts. Both my doc and the registered dietitian in her office (both very supportive of keto) said if I don't eat enough it will stall me, and they are right. The first time I stalled was when I was at ir under 1000 cals EVERY day. My doc suggested adding 5-800 cals a day and bam I was back losing!
That said I don't think a day or two of eating 1000 here and there is a problem.

Sarah, there are many who believe intermittent fasting or decreased calorie days a==re good for us so if you notice a low day you might follow it with a 1200 day..I personally work at low on M-W-F and up on the other four days a week - I broke a weight loss plateau and feel good when I do that and the body does not think you are starving it and neither does my mind - haha.

There is the thought that one can go into "starvation mode" where the body becomes incredibly efficient with calories. It would in theory slow metabolism, change blood flow to loose less body heat, move more efficiently, with less jerky movements, all to save calories.

I don't know if this is true or not. I'd say if your energy levels feel OK, like you don't feel weak, or slow or tired, then don't worry about it. If you do feel that way, then up your calories to 1200 or 1300. But my guess is the occasional 1000 calorie day won't be bad.

Sounds like you are getting nicely fat adapted.

I'm on day 8 of my new keto life! Yay! I've noticed over the past few days I've been less and less hungry. I track my calories because I personally need that accountability. Today I've eaten around 1000 calories and cannot fathom putting another bite into my mouth. I want to do this right. Will my weight loss efforts be hindered if I get too few calories some days?
