Exactly James..I just spent the week at Disney. I was HORRIBLE. Really horrible. And terribly scared to get on the scale..but I did..and for a week away eating like I'd never seen food before I only gained 5 pounds. I wondered how that could be, until I stopped and thought--that my whole attitude has changed--yes I had some desserts. Yes I had some bread, but mostly I had meat and cheese and above ground veggies--
Let the process work..because it DOES work!!

NIGHTYSKYSTAR (Holly),

I used to get on the scale everyday. After a long time on Keto I actually rarely think about it. There might be a few days in a row where I weight myself, or even a month without weighing. It is totally random.

But I agree with you. If one stresses over every fluctuation then one isn't focusing on the big long term picture, which is what life is really all about.

James

I can't stress this enough..STAY OFF THE SCALE. I heard it over and over. I didn't want to listen I have been up as much as 6 pounds overnight on keto. No reason for it.
I stopped jumping on every day. Just weighed once a week or every 2--and many weeks I lose nothing--but I've relaxed and am ok with it..and MUCH happier now that I don't need to find reasons.
You are doing GREAT!! Keep it up!!! And trust me..it took me months to get to the point of not jumping on the scale every day, but wow--the freedom once that happens is incredible!!

Great on the body fat loss!

You wrote that you exercise was on the weekend, that got me thinking.

Usually regular exercise is about 3 times a week, so .... what if those muscles are stressed a little each weekend? If you really over stress a muscle, it gets sore and swells. It is your body's defence to add fluid.

Well if not stressed enough to be truely injured, maybe just a little swelling everywhere across your muscles could explain the weekend 3 pound gain. Here is an article to support that idea:

And yet another one:

One last thought, a weekly cycle of a little water retention in recovering muscles is in no way a reason to stop exercising. The benefits are being more physically able, burning a few extra calories, building muscles that are your calorie burning engine even when dormant.

Keep exercising.

Good Morning ... I have been following KETO since March 1st and have lost 18 pounds so far; feel absolutely great and love how much better/looser my cloths all fit. One conundrum I am experiencing is that I seem to gain weight every weekend even though I maintain my eating very well ... but typically am much more active on the weekends. Between last Saturday and today I have gained 3 pounds and the only thing that I know has changed is that I have been very active over this time period - with a vast improvement in weather I have been walking ALOT. Is it possible that I am not eating enough based on my increased activity level which is why I am gaining?
