Well, I had to take some 'me' time. This has not been a very productive/successful year so far with my journey. I do not know why I can't get on track and stay there, so frustrating. I have decided to go back to Weight Watchers for three months and see if I can kick-start myself back into losing. I was doing so well for so long and I have now gained back almost 10 pounds of what I lost. This is UNACCEPTABLE!

Hope everyone else is doing better than me.

Stacy - sounds like you are having a hard time, hope it all gets worked out with your teeth. I don't deal well with anything teeth-wise, including going to the dentist for cleanings. They have to pre-medicate me with anti-anxiety pills when I go.

Getting ready to do the dreaded clock-setting... UUGGGHHHH, I do not like this time change at all!

Oooh that sounds excruciating.

The braces they wear now look really painful - I can't remember what people had in the 80s. I had one in the 60s but it could come out at night, and even at mealtimes,

I'll be 42 May 28th, and this makes me feel like I'm 88... lol

Wondering how much of this could possibly be related to family history as well on both sides bc most everyone over the age of 30 already has dentures including my mom. My dad has several bridges. It blows my mind that just a year and a half w/no ins - dental visits caused all this while I brushed, flossed and used fluoride rinse? *smh*

They tried to correct my non-overbite as a small child with a cross-by-appliance.. OUCH!

(Screwed in retainer looking thing on upper that was supposed to crack my bones slowly to give me overbite. Every night my mom would take this small key and turn the key hole clock-wise.. CRAZY!! She had it on a long string bc she was scared to death she'd drop the key down my throat.) emoticon

Of course, all that pain/suffering for NOTHING!

Then, I had the full metal early 80's braces that cut my whole mouth up for a solid year..

I was told years ago those were done incorrectly and tightened too often which causes me issues now bc it pulled my teeth out of gums and I have exposed dentin and severe sensitivity. (always have to use a straw - have to brush teeth/rinse with warm water.)

What a mess!

Dry sockets are BAAAAAAAAAAAAD ... I had one once and it was SOOOOOO painful!
I really truly feel for you with your dental woes, Stacy. I used to have a lot of trouble with my teeth too with fillings and root canals and crowns and pulling/removing. I brushed my teeth twice a day and still had cavities every time I went to the dentist :( At one time I had paid for a root canal and crown and then it broke off a year later and by that time, what with all of my other teeth issues, I was just DONE with the teeth. Had the dentist yank them all out and got myself some dentures and I have had absolutely NO regrets, or dental bills, since. Works for me!
I wouldn't stress too much about any weight gain. Chances are you won't be consuming boatloads of calories on a liquid/soft-food diet in a couple of days time and once you get back into a regular routine of things everything should settle back down to a status quo and then you can work on it from there.
I will send out prayers for healing and a peaceful mindset for you in the meantime!

I think I would try porridge (Do you do porridge in US or is it a UK thing?) We have Oats so simple, which is very quick to do, but I find real porridge more filling and satisfying - and it's good for you.

At this point most of my sensitivity right now is from the fillings.. *go figure* lol

He told me to stay away from exercise until at least Saturday. Do not want to mess with not clotting where tooth was cut out bc then I'd get dry-socket which I have been told hurts worse than any tooth with a bad cavity! emoticon

Your back teeth are HUGE which leaves BIG holes to clot and heal. Kinda scary..LOL

Hope I don't gain a bunch of weight!? *So Worried* Since I can't chew, there is not much to fill you up except things like mashed potatoes and biscuits that I tore up in tiny pieces.

I was starving trying to just drink carnation, broth and have pudding/jello...

I'm excited to get back to normal ASAP! Especially now that my SparkPeople T-Shirt and Leslie WALK ON! T-Shirt came in!! emoticon

Boy do I have a Testimony and True Miracle to Share!!
Jesus Christ can do ANYTHING no matter how "WE" measure things re: big or small.. Complicated or simple.
Had to wait for the New Year for insurance to replenish.. In Dec. when I had dental work done They did x-rays and told me the last of my work was to have 2 root canals with crowns/2 more fillings, fix or possibly pull a cracked tooth & then, I would be done.
Of course I couldn't go in January/Feb because of being so sick with sinus infection, bronchitis and coughing.
My appointment was at 3:30pm today.. Didn't leave their office till after 6:30pm bc of how many x-rays and re checking they did!
Testimony and True Miracle to Share: Of course I have been praying and praying for the Lord's favor over all this.. When I arrived, they informed me I was only going to be able to have root canals - no crowns bc there wouldn't be enough insurance. My heart sank bc these are my front teeth!! My cracked tooth fell apart Saturday morning so of course that was now going to be cut out. I said okay to that bc ins. covers it but NO to root canals since I couldn't get crowns.
The dentist said he wanted to look at the teeth anyway and maybe he could do temporary crowns until I could afford to pay out of pocket for real crowns. At this point I'm alone waiting for them and I just start praying for the Lord to give me favor and help me. He comes in..As he was checking me out he said, "Something is not right here.. I'm going to get more x-rays bc your teeth are no matching the x-rays from Dec!!"
They did them twice and didn't even charge! He then tells me: "Stacy... I don't understand this and I'm completely dumb-founded but your cavities decreased and you only need fillings!! I told him and all of them right away - "PRAISE the LORD! I have prayed my tail off about all this and even while I was waiting after arriving and getting the bad news! Jesus is AWESOME!! Hallelujah!" They just giggled and shook their heads..(Still in disbelief.)
I BELIEVE! So, I had the cracked tooth cut out ( ouch, in pain right now!) and 4 fillings! Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and what A Mighty God I Serve! He will get me through this pain and not eating solid food for a few days just fine! Since I do not have an over-bite, The side with cut out tooth is where my chewing teeth are. I can only have liquids, broth, pudding, jello and mashed potatoes right now - next few days.
On my left side top/back, I lost the 2 main teeth that connected with bottom teeth for chewing in Dec. My next prayer is for a Bridge. Ins. will NOT cover it bc it would have to latch on to a tooth with a crown on it. $5,000 out of pocket... I do not need this for cosmetic/self-esteem reasons..It is needed so I can EAT/Chew! My right side will start wearing down if I cannot get bridge on other side. So, I trust and believe the Lord will work this out for me next! Amen!
I give Glory and all Credit to the Lord Jesus Christ for helping me and blessing me today!

Such a sad thing this happened during the time we didn't have ins. bc hubby was laid off. My teeth just fell apart! Even with all the brushing, flossing and rinsing with cavity prevention products. emoticon

I have never had this many issues before.

After having Cory (about 3 years), I had some root canals and issues bc the dentist at that time said the pregnancy completely depleted my body of all nutrients and vitamins.
I had never even had a cavity before pregnancy! lol

Hello! A new month has begun, spring is (supposed to be!) not far away and my weight goal is very close-Good reasons to work on consistency and set new goals! This month I want to drink more, because when it's cold outside I tend to 'forget' it. And I will increase my strength training, so far I basically did only cardio and neglected strength, but I'm noticing a loss of tone in my arms and legs. No way I want to get saggy! My plan is adding a 10-minute routine of strength training every night whn I get back home from work. not a lot, but a way to start!

Well so much for my consistency! Sorry I have not been on to cheer you all on and touch base...
I have continued my training twice per week but still struggling getting in day 3....sigh. My trainer is definitely kicking it up a few notches this year! This was the circuit today...kettle bell swings, squats, jumping jacks, push press, bicep curls, pushups, and situps...2 rounds at 20 sec each stop, 2 rounds at 30 sec, and 2 rounds at 45 seconds each....added in about two rounds of agility stuff two! I was really ready for a shower!

My friend asked me to do a weight loss challenge with her but I am not as it is advocare. I am not sure where my friend needs to lose weight but she could just get fit. Plus I do not see how losing 22 pounds in 21 days is healthy! Then not to regain it when you can eat! My trainer told me no...not healthy as it is low calorie and low carb and I would not get what I need to support my workouts.....I will listen to him.

Good news...I bought a dress in size 16 misses! When I started this training last year I wore 16/18 womens....and was very out of shape...as my trainer joked...I lost a whole department! Now I can get through hard workouts for the most part without my inhaler (except for treadmills time)....and I have much more muscle tone! No weight loss for my ticker though. I need to not focus on the scale and keep going....something is working...

I may post a pic of my new dress on my page tomorrow...:) off to bed.....I am TIRED!

Got to work this morning to find out that the school I work at had been vandalized over the weekend. They went through all the classrooms and the main offices and trashed everything. My principal's lap top was taken, and money for field trips that teachers had in their desks. It took a lot of hard work to put everything back in place.

Still feeling pretty icky. So far have stayed in my daily calorie range. The gym is on hold again til I feel better.

It must be something in the atmosphere because I have been off track again also. Gained back the little bit I had lost plus am down again with a really bad cold. My kindergarteners have all been coughing and sneezing/out sick for several days at a time. They tend to forget to cover their mouths when sneezing and coughing so I am basically in a germ factory.

Stacy - Hang in there. Will keep you in my prayers. We can help each other back on track.

2015 has not been kind to me as of YET... lol & *sigh*

I was of course still ill when it started and life has been as hectic as ever since.

We had a horrible scare with ZuZu.. She was running fever of 102.9 and very sick.
She also hurt her back.

I have still been dealing with family drama that has taken its toll on me and I have been dealing with depression..

Things didn't work out for us to move as well this year, so I had to unpack and get things back to normal around here.

I'm up even more as of now.. A whopping 186.5 *smh* emoticon

Came to check in on everyone. Not much activity lately, hope you all are doing well, staying well and being active.

I have been on track for almost a week and am feeling pretty good right now. I switched out my 'rest' day on my workout program to yesterday so I'm getting ready to get my workout on before I start the rest of my day.

It is going to be an interesting challenge. According to her the class that she is working in believes that if you have your physical, your relationships, your career, and your spiritual life in balance, you will not have to worry about how much you will eat and the weight will fall away. I find that interesting considering I know about my sister's relationship with her husband, but she is losing weight.

Good Morning All!

Glad to see you back Grace! Aren't "Smart" phones great, you can NEVER quite get away from it all, I know how that can be. I'm sure even one day off would be quite welcoming.

Cathy - good luck to you and your sister with the life coaching, I bet that would be a fulfilling job.

Well, yesterday was horrible with my eating. I am officially back in the 170 Club, I have been for awhile, just haven't recorded any weight. Until yesterday I have managed to get myself back on track pretty well. I think I may go to the grocery store this morning and stock up on some fresh fruits and veggies.

I have decided to give up pasta, bread and rice for lent, so that may help me on my way also.

Hi. I'm back if that's ok...:). Work is busy and stressing me out. I've maintained my two training days each week and try to squeeze in the third, which has been hard. I did go today and did treadmill and spent some time in the sauna.

I am thinking about taking a vacation day next month and arranging with my supervisor to not be accessible. I'm on call 24/7 with my position (which I'll have for one year at the end of March...time flies!!)...the last time I spent time away from my phone (by the way, email is linked to my phone so it dings quite often), was in May. I think I need at least one day away from it all. Our next vacation is planned for May again....that's too far away!! Plus I have a massage gift certificate to use!

Wish spring would get here....supposed to get 4-8" of snow tonight....I'm I over it! We've also been in the deep freeze, which doesn't help!

Happy Wednesday... Hope your week has been going well.

I have been trying to get myself back on track. Kinda starting with the basics again, short workouts to get back into the habit. I could kick myself every time I get out of the habit because I feel so much better when I workout. Have also been eating better this week.

It is amazing at how much less stressed I feel, even when work is crazy, when I am on track with eating and exercise.

Stacy - That sounds amazing. That would be great for people here if they could do that. Your cold snap should not be for too long, Spring is ALMOST here! We do have a small gym where my daughter does weight-lifting with weights/weight equipment and a few machines (couple of ellipticals, bikes and treadmills) that is free to the public. But it is not fancy, just bare minimum building with the equipment and some people like the new facilities with the newer equipment. I think free is always a good thing :)

Well, I am up and at 'em this morning. I am trying to get back to the morning workouts. I only did a 12-minute Power Walk from Jessica Smith, but I will do a 30-minute strength walk this evening also. I am just trying to get myself back into the routine of the morning workouts again right now. So even a short one in the morning with a longer one later will help.

I have slacked off myself.

Time ta get serious and work hard!

I have been very emotional lately (even dealing with depression..)

I have a lot of family drama in my life right now and I allowed that to get me down and run me down.. I got out of my fitness and healthy eating routine bc I found myself trying to calm down, de-stress and relax too much! LOL

Gotta find that balance!

I'm super excited about 1 of our local parks though! (The one I call ZuZu's park bc it's her favorite one with the pond, ducks and fountain.)

They have now expanded it and added more trails AND a covered work out pavilion with outdoor equipment!!! emoticon emoticon

Wouldn't ya know that now we are getting a cold snap again with possible sleet and snow..

* screams.* emoticon

lol ..... So, since I can go to the park now thru Tuesday, I will get to the mall for mall walking and a fun day out of the house with some light shopping as well.

I'm on the hunt for comfy work out apparel bc let me tell ya, I'm gonna live at the park this spring and summer! I'm so excited about what they have done! Plus, you cant beat FREE! emoticon

Good Morning All,
Well I have not had a great month. Today is truly my Day 1 for a new start. I completely forgot to even come in SP yesterday for the first time in 300 days (it would have been 301 straight days of at least logging in). So I figured that was a good sign that I need to take a step back and just start from the beginning and really, truly get myself back on track before I gain back everything that I worked so hard to lose. All birthdays for the first part of the year are now done, had our son's 13th birthday party this weekend.

The family will be told that any junk that is not gone by tomorrow evening (that is our 'trash' night) will be going to the side of the road in the dumpster. Back to my mostly healthy eating today along with workouts.

I also plan to be more active in my groups again. I have been really slack in that area also, I do feel support teams are very important in this journey.

I hope everyone else is doing much better than I have been.

chapter visit went good.

scale was kind to me today still a few oz to go to be even what i was 2 weeks ago.
paperwork and house cleaning but will go to manna market tonight. lots of walking there so will get my steps in.
retreat is sure getting close. i decided to drive as if renting a car would stay at retreat without being used. so just 2 extra days.

Need to get exercise in and today will start journaling food again

just getting a moment to relax after work stopped at the store to get a few things looked at the books found one I could read to each of my dogs they love to be read to. My male of course likes the rough kill sort of stuff I found the book on Butch Cassidy. And for the female she likes the romance stuff I thought I will but The Notebook so came home to see if that might be a good touch of reading for them to hear. The babies head to bed after we had a bowl of soup me awake thinking about a jog in the morning of course if too cold jog in place not the same but a jog I place beats nothing

scale is down a bit after gaining some of january loss. 2 weeks to make february a loss or even stevven.

yesterday did zumba and chair exercise
will work in another workout or do aim at the 10000 steps today.

The days have been very busy. Last week I had kids seven days in a roll and it looks like that is the same for this week.

Have A emoticon Wednesday!

I will be heading out before 1pm to meet my Mom and our cousin Linda for lunch at La Madeleine Country French Cafe. They do have a healthful menu for those that are calorie tracking! emoticon

Linda is moving to TN soon to be closer to her daughter/family and we will not see her very much now.

Once home I will change, pick up ZuZu and head to ZuZu's favorite park for walking. emoticon It's a small park (2 laps around the pond = 1.2 miles) with a pond/huge fountain in the middle, trees, tons of ducks and is so peaceful and pretty. ZuZu loves it there. emoticon I hope to do more than 1.2 miles but ZuZu usually poops out after the 2 laps. LOL!! We shall see.

hi to all good to be back working on getting goals going here in my neck of the woods. Get together with a few new friends in the mornings that I can to get some exercises done and try to motivate each other if we can in whatever is of need. Kind of hard to do since my hours are starting to flip flop around at work but I am hoping to the good. Tonight my husband requested pizza however since we are fixing to possible work hard I did not argue that is easy to do. Read to the dogs snore for them right into sleep land and now out waiting for their Dad so they can have a ride to the garage

The scale is slowly climbing and I really refuse to gain back what I have worked so hard to lose. My goal this week is to get back on track, no matter what, and get back on that losing streak!

Been MIA for a couple of days.. emoticon

Been a busy "errand" week...lol .. Ms. ZuZu is all finished. Shots, Check-Up and Groomed.
Our little teddy bear.. emoticon When groomed she always looks like her pic on my page for a while.

Had some family drama as well which has me pretty upset (parents), so please keep me and them in your prayers. Thanks! emoticon
