So can't believe it is the end of June!! emoticon ...wow!!

So tired today...our sump pump would not shut off last night..up til like 1:20 am!! Had to replace it again!! Our house is only 5.5 years old and have replaced it like 6 times!! Crazy! Finally did something different and hope it lasts longer!! Learned that whoever put it in didn't do it right...there's a surprise!!

Still went to the gym...strength trained back and chest and then used we used an 8 lb medicine ball for abs....that was a first and oh my goodness!!!

Think I am gonna sleep good tonight!!! Hope to do my cardio tomorrow...hope you all have a great Tuesday!!!

Last day of June, make it a great one. I'm going to have to work extra hard this week, on vacation and already has not started out well as far as eating and working out. I'm about to get a workout in before we head off anywhere today though.

Stacy, I hope you are able to enjoy all of your activities on your agenda and they can give you some relief for that heel when you go in.

I'm looking for a couple SP Teams to join. I left a couple of groups because they just were not active at all or just were not right for me. I don't check in or post every day and even go a few days sometimes, but I do try to check in and comment and support at least a couple times a week. If anyone has any suggestions about some other teams I might want to check out, please let me know.

Hubby is now on vacation. Lord help me stay on track the best I can! emoticon

He returns to work on Tuesday, July 8th.

We are going to be going to the trails for walking and enjoying the outdoors which is great!
(2 miles long.)

Then, ZuZu's favorite Park/Pond is a 1/2 mile trail.

I'm going to the doctor as well this week.. No matter what, I'm walking the trails!

We will also go to a new Putt-Putt Golf course in Plano.. I'm sure hubby is going to want to eat out a few times, so I need to make sure I'm getting as much fitness as I can handle!

He worked on our 21st Anniversary on the 18th, so we have not used our Gift Cards for Salt Grass Steak House either.

Morning to All,

Not much on tap around here for today. Going to spend most of it doing housework. Sister-in-law and niece are coming next week for orientation at the college here in town and then another friend is coming the day after to stay as we are going to a funeral for the wife of a former principal we both worked for. The woman was only 59 and died suddenly last Wednesday.

Stacy - Hope your heel is doing better. I am the same way about going to the doctor especially since my hubby's health insurance changed on June 1st.

Day 6 with injury. I have got to pick doctor out re: new ins. and have this looked at!

Been trying to see if it would "feel better/get better..." I can't stand the thought of blowing money at physician too just get a referral.. Then gotta go to the specialist and that's already expensive, not to mention X-Rays! emoticon

Grace - My body is not made for jumping either (or running) but I am finding that I can do more of it as I go. Sounds like you had a great (and hard lol) workout today! Awesome job keeping at it.

I only got 20 minutes in today, a lot of commotion in the house since I didn't get started until later. But I ate very well today and burned a lot of calories throughout my day.

Getting back on track is feeling really good. Hope everyone has had a great day!

Hey all! For the record, I don't like running...but even more so jumping!! This body is not made for it!! Lol!! On that note (which should tell you something about today's workout!)

Treadmill for 10 minutes - warmup
1st round - 15 each of tuck jumps, lateral jumps, mountain climbers, broad jumps, burpees (really hate these!), squat jacks, ability dots (7 each leg-not as coordinated as I thought I was!!), and squat jumps...next two rounds the reps were decreased to 10 each...ugh!! Then stretches....boy was I ready for a shower!!

Have to go to Indianapolis one more time and hope to get a cardio workout in before I go...hopefully time cooperates with me . Having lunch first at subway with my former clinical supervisor-pending he doesn't have an emergency!!

Hey All,
I was very sick last night, my stomach had something going on. I felt much better today, just very wiped out after being sick all night. I really needed to get some activity in so I checked the Jessica Smith site and found 30-Minute Dance Party. This was a great video, just what I needed, got me up and moving and I felt so much better when I was done.

Hoping that I will be able to get back on track while I am on vacation next week. We don't do a big vacation, more of a stay-cation with just short day trips, so I should be able to get back into my morning workouts during that time.

Hello Everyone!! Wow, you all sound like you are doing great! I got my walk in today.. 1.5 miles. And I am slowly getting further along with my studies in the class I am taking. I am learning a lot. Today is a blah day for me. I feel yucky. Like I could fall asleep at any minute! Anyway, This weekend we are looking forward to making a few extra dollars (hopefully) by having a lawn sale. So far my living room is full of things for the sale. Hopefully we do well!! Last time We made $200.00, We can beat that record!!

This isn't a sore muscle or sprain. I'm still limping and feeling pain from just grocery shopping yesterday. emoticon

I'm so frustrated! Every time I get on track something knocks me down a notch.

I'm gonna WIN!! emoticon

Today I will see how the mat pilates goes.. It's the old Winsor Pilates DVD with Mari.

For upper body, I will lie on mat and use dumbbells for chest presses, strait bar lifts with dumbbells and so on.

I'm very concerned about my calorie burn tho..

Something is better than nothing though, right?!

Hey all...sorry been MIA again..:(

Stacy - hope that injury heals fast!!! Sounds painful...ice is good..

Did a serious circuit training again tonight. Started with warm up and fast walk around the block..HOT outside. No running outside due to the humidity and my exercise induced asthma. The four round of the following...30 seconds box step ups, 1 minute crunches, 30 sec renegade rows, 1 minute full crunches, 30 seconds shoulder press with 15 lbs, 1 minute reverse crunches, 7 quarter bicep curls-7 half bicep curls-7 full bicep curls with 12.5 lb weight, 1 minute plank (which is hard to do after shoulders and biceps!!!). Ugh!! Was so ready for a shower!

The scale is not cooperating at all but am seeing more definition in my muscles and clothes fitting good. Trying to not get hung up with the scale. Need to do better with water intake... Travel is not helping this month - one more trip to Indianapolis this week...

Now to go to bed! Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!!

Just keep plugging on! I think it gets easier to get back on track each time I get off track.

I am still "streaking"!! emoticon Since the beginning of June, I've been trying to get 30 min of exercise a day and 8 cups of water. I'm up to 22 days!! I changed the water to 10 cups when the Summer Challenge started, but I'm still counting it as 22 days!!

I've already decided on my emoticon to add next month : 5 freggies! Today, I got 8! This from the girl who used to be allergic to anything green emoticon
I had strawberries for breakfast, a salad & beans & tomatoes (in chili) for lunch, a salad, 2 servings of zucchini, and spaghetti sauce for dinner, and grapes for a snack!

So thankful for Spark People for helping me develop these healthy habits!

Hope things get better soon Stacy!

I do not follow the meal plan, however, I DO track all of my food.

Today has been about the same as the last couple of weeks. I don't know what my problem is with the eating thing UGH! but I am trying really hard to get back onto regular workouts. Its like starting all over again for some reason. Get one under control then I can concentrate on the next. But all of this is still ok, I am still under 180 and know I am getting back to where I was/need to be.

Not following the meal plans TCG, but I use a lot of Spark Recipes. emoticon

The past few days I have been nursing a injury.

I'm very worried that it's an Achilles tendon injury.. ("Achilles Heel") My left foot/leg..

I heard a SNAP when exercising.

I'm resting it and being very careful when I walk to not make it worse.

I don't think it's "severe" bc on-line it says you would not be able to point your toes or flex your foot at all. I'm just very worried about that "snap" noise I heard. ???

I'm so scared I'm going to start packing on the pounds.

I will have to drag out my mat only pilates dvd and do upper body ST in chair or sitting position.

That's better than nothing at all!

I am working my self below 200. had birthday party yesterday. I didnt eat too much cake and ice cream. We had Mexican. not too many steps yesterday but did get my water in. Will get a walk in today. with all the rain my garden is doing well. but hopefully the rain wont come in gusto.

Happy Summer All!
Well, my eating is still not great, but definitely getting better. I am back on my workouts and my body is thanking me, that is making a huge difference.

Thankfully it is too hot to want to eat today, so I had a watermelon/banana smoothie. Unfortunately, it is too hot to want to do anything either. I will be hitting late evening and early morning workouts during the next several weeks.

Keep focused everyone, we've got this!

Hi all,
I'm finally getting back on track after my hubby's vacation. Today, the scale finally said what it said before the vacation! WOOHOO!! I'm also getting back into my exercise habits and nutritional goals. This week, I met my 3 "extra" nutrition goals! I've also averaged 5/6 for my daily goals.
The 5% Summer challenge started today! Really hoping to lose my 5% this time!!
9 more days left in June! Really gonna try to meet all my goals listed in my blog!

Hey fellow Teammates!!

Things are going ok for me which is really great! I have "no" complaints. I have been getting my walks in, although I haven't stepped on the scale for some time, I am happy with where things are. I have taken for granted feeling ok, I have taken for granted my good health, (as most of us do) I have neglected to be grateful for where I am at and I want to change that.

This is where things are with me. I feel really guilty for not appreciating having such a "good life". I tend to forget the "real" reason behind things going well for me, and I just want to stop to smell the Roses and Thank God.

I had a discussion with my daughter about how there are people who don't even believe in God. It was hard to explain it to her, but I think she understood everything I said. She is a very smart cookie! I cannot imagine not believing in Jesus, that's part of the reason why I would like to start deepening my faith and being more thankful.

Hey all..stormy night in Ohio! Glad it all hit after I was home!!

Did make it to the gym for training. Focused on strength training in chest and back. On one of the chest press sets...1 set of 10 using 20 lb dumbbells, 1 set of 10 using 25 and 2 sets of 10 using 30!!!!! Course needed a little support from the trainer towards the end to finish!! Getting a lot stronger! When I started this 4.5 months ago, I was at 8-10 lbs max!!

Not getting the weight loss I want though, need to go back to tracking. Also drinking more water and increasing fruit and veggies. Plan to go to the gym before I go to Indianapolis tomorrow to get my cardio in since I know what my hotel really has avail!!

Hey All, been awhile. Kind of got off track for a bit, the AC went out which made it hard to workout for a couple of days, if I miss a couple of days it is just too easy to keep 'missing' my workouts :(

My eating hasn't exactly been great either, I've been trying really hard, but I'm just not keeping my willpower up enough.

I got on the scale this morning, I weigh myself daily even though I know that is not the way you are supposed to do it, but it seems to work better for me, anyhow, I was still under 180. This was my push I needed, I was so happy the scale was still under 180 it was all the motivation I needed to get my butt back on track.

So, I tracked my food today, I went out and played some badminton. I am planning my workouts for the next few days and I'm planning to finally start T25 on Monday.

I won't have a loss this week for my actual weigh-in, but I'm fine with that, because I know what I did and what I need to do.

Hey everyone!! I hope you all are doing well! Trying to find the time to juggle in some of my sparkteams. It is so difficult making the time to do this!! But here I am. I am getting back into the swing of exercise. I had taken about 2 months off. I have to stop doing this too. Anyway, next month my daughter and I will be going on a small scenic cruise and spending the night in that same town at a hotel. I would like to make a reservation at a hotel with an indoor pool, that is my main plan! But in the end I think I will take what we can get! Hoping for some memorable times this summer vacation!!

Hey all!! Gosh I've been busy! My measurements didn't go the way u had hoped..:(. Gonna keep going though...seeing more definition in my arms and getting a lot stronger...clothes are looser too despite what the scale and measurements said!

The hotel was a let down...treadmill or elliptical didn't work..:(. Did a small workout in my room though. May try and run outside this week if the weather cooperates.

Today was shoulders, biceps, triceps and abs! Gonna feel this one I think!! Lol!!

Hope you all are doing well! Some cardio tomorrow with a sit in the infrared sauna again! Nice!!

Hi Friends! I'm back after being "on vacation" with dear hubby for the last 2 weeks. It was super tough being off my normal routine. I've gained about 4 pounds since the 1st of June! UGH!! Now, most of that is eating too much during vacation. But I was also on antibiotics the whole time & I should start my cycle this week. I am really hoping at least some of that weight comes off by the end of the week.
Today, I am trying to get back into my healthy habits - exercise, freggies, water. So far, I've had 3 freggies, 6 cups of water & did a 5 mile Leslie walk along with a SP video for my arms.

I plan to finish this month STRONG!!

that is a good thought Pig-Pen from Charlie Brown that is a good one should have been here the day Coco Shanell decided she wanted to get the mouse in the house she only wanted to kill it then she knew it would be toss away. No harm I thought she chased it in the kitchen it went into the closet which was not closed completely she open the door got everything off the shelves into the floor bags of rice, mash potatoes, beans, sugar, tea mix you name it we had it there every she had on the floor she was proudly sitting in front of the tv with the mouse dead at her toes when I walked in seeing the mess in the kitchen floor grrr not happy stepped into the den all I could do was bust out laughing she was so proud of her accomplishment to know ends so hugged her and praised her so much but trust me never again but then the cats saw that so a new game they presented mice as well. The same hug and praise her but we had a never ending supply I thought it was never ending. My husband found out that the cat Kali Marie like that so much plus she got a bonus SNACK that she going outside to the field getting a mouse sneak it in and place a live mouse in the closet to retrieve later smart cookies for sure.

sitting here as the soft rain comes down on the metal roof relaxing sound but thinking about getting a list up for the store what a chore what to buy I am sure the dogs would add lots of treats if they could write think goodness they can not. My female is whining to go outside that is funny after the hog tying I had trying to give her a bath the other day only to realize no shampoo once I got her in the shower. After her shower the male dog with just a pat on the head got up walked to the shower climbed in for there was no since fighting it he watched his sister lose after a long hard battle. Must admit wrestling a 98 pound dog was my workout for the day I had to get a chair to sit in to wash her. If you have ever watch the movie Marley and Me my husband and I laugh for we face that much fun everyday our two dogs which act like big fussy kids brighten our days every day.

Way to go Leslie! Remember this is a journey, not a sprint. We all have times we hit it hard and other times we struggle! Trust me, been there done that!

Hi Stacy and fhe rest of the team! Welcome newcomers!!

I am absolutely exhausted! Leg day at the gym....lots of squats, lunges and hamstring curls! Then home to make dinner, laundry, dishes (gotta get the dishwasher fixed!!), bake a cake for tomorrow and pack for an overnight trip to Indianapolis for work! Gonna get measurements tomorroe...gym bag packed and gonna use the treadmill when I get there! I'm off to bed....will check in tomorrow!

Ok, day behind on my very last week of the hourglass workout, so doubling up tonight. I will let you know how it goes in the fitness log when I am through.

Confession: This is the first program I have actually followed all the way through from start to finish, I did have a a few slip-ups, but for the most part I made it all 4 weeks!

I'll be starting T25 next week, a little excited and nervous about it. But determined to do it.

Just hope this month is a good month again!

Went to the gym today...treadmill for 45 minutes...burned about 545 calories...whew!! Increased the intensity a bit!! Measurements will be done tomorrow before training...I'm tired today.. Rainy weather has moved in!!! Time for beddy bye!!!

Yes Grace, in the past year or so I went from a 10 to a 12 pound ball. I have been bowling for years, I love it but am not good. I have finally gotten my average up to between 135 and 140. I bowled USBC leagues for years, but now I am just on a Monday Fun League.

Wow Grace, great job on getting through that! It sounds hard.

Tonight was a bowling night for me, I usually try to get on the elliptical for a good 20 minute workout afterwards but I had to run to the grocery store and our air is out, so I decided not to do it tonight. I had a good calorie deficit after bowling, so all is good without the elliptical tonight. Should have someone here to look at air tomorrow, but will be getting my workout in regardless (can't miss 2 days in a row).

My workout today was hard!!! Got through it though! Wanna know what I did...here goes...30 seconds burpees, 1 min crunches, 30 seconds shoulder press, 1 min full crunches, 30 seconds air squats, 1 min plank, 30 seconds mountain climbers, 1 min side planks....there were four rounds so the core varied by round!!! There was about a minute break between rounds... I was ready for a shower when I got home!

Think I am gonna sleep good when I get there! Cardio tomorrow....gotta get some work done so til tomorrow....have a great night!!

Been a great weekend, shopping with Mom and daughter all day yesterday. But did not stay on track, so time to buckle down the rest of today and the week ahead, don't want to mess up all that hard work I just accomplished. It shore does not take long to to back up, unfortunately.

Ok, great start to the weekend!

Weight is down 3.2 lbs today!

Went to the Dr and my weight is down 10 lbs since last visit (about 4/5 months ago), blood pressure down 10 pts (wasn't high before but higher end of normal), cholesterol down (not quite as low as it should be, but not in a danger zone) and good cholesterol in a good range (going to work on bringing that up a little more) and blood sugar level was great!
All of this hard work is truly paying off, I was so happy when I left their office today.

Stacy, I'm sorry your weekend has started off badly, I hope it gets better!

Hi Everyone!

TGIF and it's the first day of my summer break! I am so happy to have a job to go back to come August. Last year at this time I had been laid off from a school I had been at for for 3 years and was an emotional mess. Got to transfer back there in January and didn't get any lay-off notice for the next school year 2014/2015. I love my school.

Glad everyone is doing well.

Leslie - will keep my fingers crossed your checkup brings good news.

Grace - kudos on your dedication to going to the gym.

Stacy - Thanks for doing such a great job leading this team.

Thanks Stacy, I am going to go back and look for it, I just skimmed through there a minute ago, but didn't see it. I want to look at all of the recipes when I have some time! emoticon

Well, I've decided that Friday is going to be my weigh-in day this month, since I don't really have any challenges on SP and that is my BodyMedia weigh-in day.

Tomorrow is a big one for me, I have my Dr's appt to find out if I have brought my cholesterol down, I have been so carerful most of the time (it is really hard to not eat cheese, so I have slipped up some). They did the blood work last week and tomorrow is the results. With any luck I have brought both weight and cholesterol down and it can be put in the books.

I'm also hoping I can move to Club 170 emoticon

If I don't, its ok, because I know I have had a pretty good week and I WILL get there!

It was so nice to get a good night's sleep last night! Only had to get up and go to the bathroom thanks to all the water I drank!!! emoticon Feeling much more energetic and normal today!!!

Tonight is bowling night, so no "workout" for me. I am bowling though, so there is some activity!! Bowling alley dinner though - so few healthy options there!!! Will do my best though!

Stopping by the gym though today to get my measurements to see changes over the last month. Weight seems to have gone up about 2.5 pounds. My trainer doesn't think that's a problem though - that could be due to anything, including muscle....still don't like it though emoticon

On a good note though, I tried on a blouse I had bought about a year ago (never wore it because it did not fit good AT ALL!! Wearing it today and it fits nicely! Yay!! Also tried on a couple of skirts that I can now wear again.....

So even though the scale went up, am hopeful the inches have gone down a bit more :) Will have to do my own workout tomorrow as the gym is closing early due to the yearly (and ever popular) Troy Strawberry Festival and parking will be a nightmare!! So I am going to dig out my WII exercises - either Zumba or one of the training ones - can't let myself off the hook because the gym is closed!

Hope you are all doing well and I will post the results of my measurements.....fingers crossed!!

Hope you sleep well tonight Grace.

I feel much better today, got my Hourglass workout in, I am now one day behind again, but it's all good, I may double up Friday or Saturday on one of them or just go an extra day.

Having a hard time getting my fruits and veggies in, well, more veggies than fruits. Think I need to go get some fresh spinach and have some salads, that always helps. Zucchini and asparagus is a good way to go also.

So tired today...a painful migraine woke me up at 2:45 this morning and I was awake til almost 4...hard to sleep with pain like that!!! So a good night sleep is hoped for tonight?

I still went to the gym...adding to my tiredness and soreness! Here was my workout...5 sets of 15 in rounds like this: box step-ups (modified box jumps), shoulder presses, mountain climbers, bicep curls, overhead tricep press, bicycles...after that was done, then ab crunches, full ab crunches and plank...ended with various stretches...whew! I was ready for a shower!!

Now I'm ready for bed....lol!!!

Hey all!! Another night where I am sleepy!! I need to check in earlier in the day!!!

Did the treadmill for about 17 minutes...higher incline, faster speed. Then the sauna! Yep, I liked it. Gotta talk to the trainer tomorrow...it didn't get as hot as he said it would, be definitely gonna do it again!! He said I would lose some water weight, but I really didn't. But I wonder if it was the temp....

Training tomorrow ! Legs are sore tonight so I'm thinking upper body tomorrow, but I could be wrong! The scale went up 2.5 pounds this month..:(. Need to get measurements done though...maybe a loss there or maybe a bad month!

Oh well....night all!!!

Guess I didn't sleep well last night, Really dragging today. I did not (nor am I going to) get my workout in today, not happy with myself, but I kept my eating in check for the most part and my calorie deficit is on target for today. Yep, went to the gym and I am exhausted!! Leg day so my legs are like noodles!! Lol!! My eating was on track and I actually tracked today! Wow!!

Tomorrow is cardio and then the infrared sauna...ought to be interesting...I know it's gonna be hot!!!

I am not craze about swimming at the lake either I will take a pool any day but that is the nearest thing to me I can see it from the house can walk there if I had a death wish as they would say traffic bad I have had to climb the guard rail on the bridge to keep from getting hit and me and the car was the only ones around so I drive even though it is so near however if the babies want to go that is the easiest to I can somewhat control them in the car when they are thinking a walk in the park them hyper things

So can't believe it is June already! Glad you guys have started the month off right.....me on the other hand not so much.....:( I did a lot of cleaning today but this weekend I so did not eat well! I really need to get disciplined when eating out!

Tomorrow is a new week. Back to the gym tomorrow! Not sure if it will be legs or something else! Gym this week! Only day I can't is Thursday but I will be bowling. Meals planned so hoping for a better week! May try the infrared sauna Tuesday after my workout...hmmmm burn more calories!,

yes June is here and the heat arrived with it as usual today is hot and muggy laundry is in progress grocery store done and dinner in the works and the thoughts of getting out and exercising is really hard. Stacy the wave pools sounds great around here on the lake you get waves usually if you look you will find the boat they came from one year we took our dog and she would walk out tuck her back feet in and dog paddle as she rode the waves but trust me she love it once she grasped what the waves really did for her she could swim without using her legs YIPPE and dream come true for a laid back dog waiting for the world to move for her instead of her all together. She thought camping was the life. Not sure if we will do it this year or not these two want to be in the water but do you actually have to put your paws in to enjoy it is the look on their faces as the stand there drooling to go in but no not yet.

I'm off to a great start as well today! emoticon

June will be easier for me I think bc we have had such crazy weather that has kept us from our parks/trails! I'm super excited to go walking and take ZuZu to her favorite park!

Also, we LOVE our local Wave Pool called Surf 'N Swim... It's a huge pool...5 mins with waves on and 5 mins off.. While in AR, they had NO POOLS of any kind! We were truly out in the country! Been 3 yrs since we've been swimming! We are so glad 2 be back home and have all our favorite things again!

Ok everyone, summer tends to be a hard time to stay on track (for me at least) its up there with the holidays. Kids are out of school, the weather is nice (or just too hot to do anything) and it is really hard for me to stay on track with workouts and eating (I love hot dogs and hamburgers LOL).

So, with that said, I have decided to just jump right in and start June off on the right foot. I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast and did my Hourglass workout - 30 minute power interval walk and plan to do another workout this evening to get me back to where I am supposed to be with my active-rest day (bowling and elliptical on Mondays).

For snack I am going to blend a cup of fruit with almond milk so I can be sure to get my fruits and veggies in today.

Hope everyone starts June off the right way!!
