Hey all! I am so sore, particularly my arms when I straighten them from Mondays workout!! Lol

Today's was rough... Here goes:
7 minutes on treadmill, high incline at 3.6 speed
3 sets of 12 lunges (each leg)
3 sets of 12 reverse lunges
4 reps of 15 squats then 15 hip abduction
4 reps of 15 squats then 15 hip adduction
4 sets of 12 donkey kicks (each leg)
4 sets of 15 of some kind of butt exercise
Then a boat load of ab work..legs suspended crunches, legs suspended lower abs (ugh!!) then planks...

Yep I am some kind of tired...will do some cardio tomorrow and Friday then vacation!! Gonna get weighed and measurements on Friday. Don't think it will be much due to my knee issues this month holding me back but oh well!

So sleepy but wanted to check in. Sorry I can't read all the posts!! The new format looks nice!!! Til tomorrow. :)

I remember seeing you ask for challenge suggestions, but I can't find the post. So I'm posting it here emoticon
Here are a few of my ideas. Feel free to use them or not!

Try a new exercise
Drink 2 more cups of water than you usually do
Eat the minimum number of protein grams
Get daily %ís in line with SP (50% carbs, 20% protein, 30% fat)
Do something active outside
Walk 1 mile

I'll let you know if I can think of any more. I am so excited about this month's challenge!

Hey all! I need to look at may challenge! Can't believe we are going into May! I will be limited to do much the week of 5/5 due to bring on a much needed vacation! So I will see..:)

Went to the gym today. He had us do 100 pull ups (I did modify ones with the TRX bands), 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, and 100 squats...in rounds and do it as quickly as u can!! Ugh!! Took me almost 30 minutes to do it all!! Ugh!!!

I agree Linda! They tore up all the areas we used to drive; live near when in AR.. Gave us a creepy feeling! We have checked on friends and they are okay thank goodness!

got off work took a walk around town and then to the store pick up a 20 can pack of diet cokes walked around the store strength training right back home for a nap before heading back to work. Took a look at the walking trail in the town i work in might be a nice walk after work I know it is beautiful the trail goes along the lake something to think about I do know after the walk today need shorts to walk already hot at 7am -Juls

Had a good weekend, NO GAIN!! emoticon I went out with my mom and yesterday went to a Wedding Anniversary party for my dh cousin, love them so much!!! I did have cake but nothing else. We also went to a real estate auction. It's amazing what people will by, like used underwear, bathroom supplies stuff like that. Not me!! LOL!!

emoticon I've had a maintain kind of month too for April. I want to do better for May! Today I took half of everything I was going to eat and put it in the fridge. Will see if I can keep doing this without being too hungry, but the portions I eat need to be smaller for anymore weight loss. Will report back to you guys how it's going. Ok, this is the last week of April. I have not had a great month (again). It was pretty much a maintain kind of month so that is definitely better than a gain kind month,
so I'll take it emoticon

But I want to wrap this month up/start May on the right track. So I am going to be up early tomorrow to get my workout in and if I have the energy I will do 10-30 minutes in the evening. Going to try so very hard to stay on track with my eating this week as well.

I am planning to start T25 a week from tomorrow, we are starting our second weight-loss challenge at work on that day so I figured it would be a great day to start it. Was wonder if anyone has done it or is currently doing it. It looks pretty intense and I think I can handle it but wanted to see if I could get someone else's take on it.

I hear ya on vacation...I go on vacation a week from today...kinda nervous about it as I know what I will face food wise!! Lol!!!

Lettica I am also considering buying a scale I have been looking at different stores but I like Stacy am looking at going to Walmart for one I have being thinking about getting one that measure a few other things besides weight since most scales have them. My old scale that is a rotary every day I need to reset it sometimes several times before I feel I might have it close to right. Well some of you it is being another off week sick again with the same crude I think coughing a lot some at work kid about the Julie funk and not wanting to get it so I guess I get the sit somewhere else again for a while it is fine have time to sit by myself which I like I am sure when others come back to the desk hung up humming Christmas carols I like them they make me feel happy inside. Well in the mean time will look at recipes to find new items to try. Have a good weekend--Jul

Thanks Betterme for the encouragement!! I'm trying...some days are easier to go!!

On that note, my eating was better today.. Below calorie intake and I went to the gym. I did 18 minutes on the treadmill (3.6 speed with varying inclines between 3.0-9.2)... Then strength trained my shoulders and finished with three different sets of abs at one minute each set!!

Now time to relax!! Start my next FIT challenge on Monday. Getting my hair highlighted tomorrow and picking up a new dress that I hope fits!!! Me day!!

Good evening!!

I weighed in at Curves today. I have lost 8.25 inches and 13 pounds so far. The lady that works there was amazed!!! She said keep up what I'm doing, it's working. I'm so motivated!! I got my spark back!! I would love to be in Onederland by September but that may be pushing it. But I'm gonna try!! emoticon

Hope everyone had a good day!! The weather here is beautiful! Tomorrow I'm going out with my mom, it's supposed to be in the 80's. So she should not be cold!! LOL!!

I have a Weight Watcher's Scale That is only a few ounces off from Dr. Office, so I trust it.
Got it at Wal*Mart.

I have a Food Scale (basic) that I got at Kroger, lol.

I also have all my measuring cups/spoons.

My Update:

I have had an OFF Week I guess due to being on vacation..?..
My plans were to take that time and really get extra focus but that fell apart with how busy I've been.. LOL ... I have had poor time management and balance!
Yesterday once again I did not do well with eating or snacking and the only exercise was running around and then grocery shopping. *sigh*

I made sure to eat another big/healthy salad at dinner so I wouldn't over eat on protein, starch and grains. emoticon

I want TODAY to be the day I turn myself around and get back on track with fitness!

Just got caught up. I'm so glad to be part of a team who doesn't mind sharing their off days as well as their good days. emoticon

I did not make it to the gym at all this week, but the rest of my classes are going great! That means I have not weighed in this week either. I'm seriously considering buying a scale. I think I have some emotional issue with having a scale in the house. This may be why I pitched it before. What other reason could there be for my hesitation emoticon

I have been making good meal choices. Though I had more than my share of gummy bears and frozen pizza last night, emoticon the rest of the week has been good. Now that time of the month is here again and I still do not feel comfortable going to the gym during. Another one of my hangups. emoticon

I'm curious to know what helpful electronics you all use. I know body media was mentioned. I'm thinking of getting a new food scale because mine is really old and dying, an electronic weight scale that automatically uploads my weights to sparkpeople and endomondo, a heart rate monitor, and something that counts my calories burned. I wish there was one product that does it all. All suggestions are appreciated.

Oh!...I found a website I wanted to share called everymove[dot]org that rewards you for moving. You can record all types of movements like walking the dog, doing dishes, or even dancing. You accumulate points and can use them to get things like gift cards to stores. Some employers and health insurances also reward you for using it. You can also add friends and challenge each other. I can't remember how I found it, but I had never heard of this amazing site. emoticon

I JUST LOST 10. lbs I i am in shock.
when I started..I knew that since I am not able to do much in the fitness thing..I didn't expect my weight to go down for a long time. I did check it the 1st 2 months & no change..I quit checking. due to the fact I had stomach flu for a month...I didn't even work out then but I sure wasn't eating as much as I normally do. I did eat better things. I have been eating great on some days & not on others. I haven't worked out much either this month. (flu this time) I am in SHOCK that I lost 10 lbs. I sure needed this. It is a huge spark to me.. my first weight loss here... I JUST WANT TO SCREAM. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hey gang. I was proud of myself today...today I had to drive by my house to go to the gym today. I so wanted to turn into my subdivision and go home after I left a foster home today....BUT I went straight to the gym ! I did 30 minutes on the treadmill varying the incline from 2.0-8.5....and done abs. Going again tomorrow! Vacation is coming as well as my monthly weigh in/measurements . Not sure if I was really successful there die to the limitations I had with my knee and recent poor food choices...oh well...it's a journey right?

I did not have balance or time management yesterday so the day/evening slipped away since I was so busy and away from home.

Missed snacks and lunch... Didn't work out either.

Body Media: I did reach my Basic Step Count and Target Calorie Burn for the day though due to all the errands and running around.

I did decent at dinner too and didn't pig out.. I made a big salad with dinner so I wouldn't over eat on protein & starch.

Today is grocery store day and I will do my best to have balance today and fit everything in!

Yesterday wasn't so great. I tried out some protein boost that made me feel sick for pretty much the whole day. I ended up undereating, but then at the end of the day when I realized I still had plenty of calories and carbs to go around, I ended up eating a bunch of sugar... which did not help my stomach at all. Still ended up under my goals. And I spent the entire day working.... and I missed my exercise for today.

But today started out much better! I woke up hours before I actually had to be up, fully rested. I got some work done, then went out and got some Jamba Juice for breakfast.

Hey gang....I so did not have a good day...:(. I ate absolutely horribly all day AND I did not get to go to my gym/training thanks to an all day training 1.25 hours from home....I feel horrible too!!! Tomorrow is a new day! Going to make better choices and get to the gym when I get off work!! I think today will hurt me so I am having a GNC shake in the morning and salad for lunch and a protein bar in the afternoon...and oh yeah....WATER!!! Yucky yucky day!!! emoticon

According to Body Media I burn 250 or more while doing Walking It Off In 30 with Leslie and my Firm Get Fit In 30 (they do several 8 second high impact bursts mixed with the regular work out.)

I started out small. Like walking on treadmill at 3.0mph for five minutes, then slowly built up to 100 minutes. HOWEVER, I am finding circuit training gets me more for my buck (or minute?) .

I am doing HIIT and it is making me wake up to better ways to burn calories. I am going to Jillian Michaels (spelling?) in May. CIRCUIT training!

Stacy a spa both for us and our fur babies side by side a definite Reese Witherspoon type character see played the blonde who went to college to be a lawyer to follow her boyfriend and her dog that she had that got the royal treatment I just love those thoughts I dream often that I would love to be in that kind of Barbie doll type world that the whole world took notice as I entered the scene. If you find one let me know so I can add to my dreams. Woke up my dogs always come unglued when the school buses arrive out here so they are out by the fence gate watching all the cars go by. Now what to eat for breakfast yes I eat my day backwards start with Dinner and end with Breakfast odd as it seems it seems to work with my mind and that I don't feel like I was forced to have steak for breakfast just end with the cereal or eggs. I knew it was time as I was grocery shopping and the pair I had on tried to break my neck as they fell apart and broke while walking. Who wants to go barefoot in a grocery store I ask you? Barf?! I had to go buy a pair right on the spot to put on to finish shopping.

This weekend and yesterday felt long. Dad hasn't been feeling well. His feet swelled up over the weekend to where it takes longer to get his boots on in the morning. At least 10 minutes per boot. Told our regular doctor but he said to get a hold of dad's cardiologist. The cardiologist is an hour east of here. So we will be calling him this morning to see what to do. The feet swelling isn't the only problem that he's having. Trouble breathing and getting tired easy. This isn't the only time with the breathing and getting tired easy came around. Before he had his heart surgery in January 2009 is when we found out that he had to have quadruple bypass surgery. So keep me and my family in thoughts and prayers.

Hey gang!!!

Just an update today...sorry. Went to the gym and he switched it up...leg day!! I can tell my knee injury set me back and he told me it would...three weeks is a long time! So here is what I did....4 sets of squats with 25 lbs on the bar....3 sets of regular squats of 15 (holding 35 lbs for the first two sets, then with 25)....leg press...4 sets of 15....then three sets if 12 if each leg extension and leg curls with weights!!! Goodness! I think I'm gonna feel this one!!!


Time to get lunches packed and ready for bed !!! Hope all is well!!!

Had a nice Easter with my hubby's family. Drive home took 4 hours instead of the usual 3. Traffic was heavy the first part of the way home. Glad I have today off from school to regroup and get caught up on things around the house. Planning on riding my exercise bike for 25 - 30 minutes.

Woo hoo Stacy!!! Great job on the weight loss!! That is super.

Easter was enjoyable but not diet friendly. Monday now, time to get back to my normal routine. 'Bout to go walking with my husband. Which reminds me...I ran a 5k Saturday and got first place for my age group. That was a totally unexpected surprise.

I like Mexican food too. A friend at work told me she cooked some chicken in the crockpot with some chicken broth. She then shredded it and added some taco seasoning to it, and her and her boyfriend had taco salads with that. Sounds good and a way to eat some Mexican in a lower fat way, must try it sometime! emoticon

Ok...all your talk of Mexican food made me hungry for it! Lol! Guess what hubby and I has for dinner??!! I had a dew too many of the chips but I only ate about half my plate...other portion is for lunch on Monday....sooo good!!

Think I may have to get the workouts in and make them count this week!! lol!!!

wish we could all join you for the walk and look at the scenery I love to do that my husband and I love when we were camping to take walks around the place and enjoy the scenery and yes sniff walk with the fur babies.
Today I had to go to the store and I was thinking about a joke I saw
Boyfriend: so how is your diet going?
Girlfriend: not so good for breakfast I had eggs.
Boyfriend: scrambled?
Girlfriend: No .....Cadbury
so yes had to buy some Cadbury eggs before the season was over however the dozen were the mini ones. Must have at least one egg don't know why it is like a rule you must not break to be in society.
Found a new goal to aim for a wedding coming up so want to be down some inch wise as well as weight. Been looking for something to wear but need to lose a great thing to help in the reminder area.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate your words of encouragement! yesterday was a goal reaching day! Didn't work out, but I planned every meal, and for dinner I made Chef Meg's shrimp creole from Spark Recipes and it was amazing! And fit right into my calorie range.

Today dh is taking us to hang out at Seaport Village. It's a cute little seaside mall and picnic area. I'm gonna do a 30 min walk while I check out the beautiful scenery.

We all know what those moments are like.

They are completely normal.

I know all too well about the bumps in the road. Especially as someone with a deep love of food and food memories.

Going out to eat is very hard for me bc we don't get to eat out very often. So when we do it's a treat and I do not have any interest to "be good." LOL

Especially when it's Mexican! (My fav!)

I can eat my weight in that! emoticon

As women we also have so many triggers! This is NOT an easy journey...It's a battle!

Right now with my cycle, I tell ya what... The Easter Bunny best not hop around my place bc I will tackle him and take ALL the CHOCOLATE!

odd as it sounds that is pretty much my whole thing the system is slow but I really don't exercise just try to find healthier food options on the 70/30 rule so that if I feel I can cheat if I so desire then just don't go hog wild. the thing I do for exercise is just try to move a lot which usually makes people think I am just hyper but with that idea I did lose 65 pounds I stopped trying so hard stopped wiggling and some came back so me I am back to the same thing the weight is coming down real slow but so are the inches down from x large to small/ medium and yes yippee wearing a 34 inches waist blue jeans but I thought diet is a lifestyle and no I know I will not keep up exercising I never have but moving especially dancing on down the hall hum my own tunes makes me happy so don't get down when stopping for a brief time just remember you pick back up and get going again that is the answer and don't think I will wait till Monday for Monday could be days away. You are doing great you are trying and not giving up that is a big hurdle to stay over--Jul
