We met online as friends and chatted for a while, then he came to see me as a friend when I was having problems with the father of my son (who I had broken up with). He took us out for a meal, and I think by the time it was over, we knew we were in love. After 2 hours together. As "just friends."

Just because you have been through the rain of life doesn't mean I have to walk around in wet clothes forever; there is a warm towel, a big hug, and a mug of low fat cocoa waiting for you somewhere!

We met online (me on my last week of subscription and his first week of his subscription) and extremely thankful we even met at all. We texted for about three weeks (hey modern ages) because our jobs/lives didn't really allow for 5 minutes of chat time (Single Mom & Single Dad). When I was free to chat, he was with his twins, when he was free to chat I was at work. The texting or modern day love letters as I like to think of allowed us to really get to know each other. So the time finally came to meet face to face...never heard this man's voice and never saw a photo of him smiling with his teeth showing so was a little wary. Ladies you understand! We agree to meet at a little bar near my parents house where I could drop off my son and we would meet after spent time with the twins that night. We met outside and he was even better looking in person, he smiled (beautiful straight teeth), and introduced himself with his manly voice. I couldn't help it but hugged him with excitement. We went inside and had a few drinks and appetizers and talked for hours. It was my best last first date ever! We were so comfortable with each other and talked about everything. Finally realizing how late it had gotten since I still had to pick up my son and head home. We left and he walked me to my car and had our first kiss. We talk of that night often and relive it. I love hearing his side of the story and how nervous he was and how that was the night he knew he "could" fall in love with me because he didn't want it to end and over short period of time and only a few dates later that "could" became a "did." But of coarse it took him a few different times to work up the courage to tell me because he wasn't sure if I felt the same way which of coarse I did and pretty much on the same time frame as him. We are so excited for our wedding and sharing the rest of our lives together. We are the bestest of friends and have a wonderful little family together.

On our first date we went geocaching. He had never heard of it. He caught on very quickly and really enjoyed it. Now, every time we are out, we try to find another cache. We are also planning to include geocaching into our wedding. We just got engaged this week so the planning is still very new. Never heard of geocaching either? Check it out geocaching.com

We were at the birthday party of a mutual friend, but I didn't know he was there. He saw me but he said he couldn't get the nerve to approach me. Our mutual friend called me the next day after the party to tell me that one of his friends asked about me and if it was ok if he gave him my number. I just went for it because I figured I didn't have anything to lose, and it has been great ever since.

Our first date was at a sports bar. We both love sports, and a boxing match was going on that weekend, so we met there and had a great time talking before the main event started. We have been inseparable since then.

Obviously he was a little shy, but I'm glad he did asked our friend about me.

I met my fiance through PlentyOfFish.com when my daughter and I were stuck at home with Swine Flu ... romantic, huh? Anyway, I was going stir crazy on day 5 of being stuck in the house and decided to check out this site. Something about his profile spoke to me. I could tell he was the type of man who knew what he wanted, and he wanted to settle down. I messaged him, me messaged me, and then we started chatting online immediately. We discovered we had a lot in common, most importantly that our values were on the same page. We had our first date the first week of November 2009 and he took me to a play. It was awesome! He was never anything but a gentleman with me, and I knew he was right for me because he has all of the qualities I have always wanted in a man ... the plus being when he met my daughter for the first time and instantly bonded with her. I knew then that I could trust him with my heart.

Our first date completely set the pace for our relationship.
Practical with a little bit of sexy and fun. I'm hoping that will make for a great marriage ;)

I had just started the process of buying a house so we went house hunting just talking and joking around in the car was great. When we got done we went to his parents house and he introduced me to them then we took off on their 4 wheeler and had a blast. We had so much fun together and even though I was attracted to him, there was no awkwardness and I was starting to think he would just become a really good friend.
Then we went back to his apartment and proceeded to make out like a couple of sex starved teenagers.
I've never felt so comfortable with someone right off the bat and I've never felt the passion I felt for him that first day and a few weeks after I bought my house he moved into our new home.

We went to my favorite restautant and then ice skating downtown. It was so cute to watch because he'd never been ice skating in his life and kept slipping and sliding everywhere. We had our first kiss on the ice with snow falling all around us

Our first "date" was playing putt-putt (he won) and dinner afterwards. Then to a sports bar to watch the all-star game together. We both love baseball. That was the first time we met, we found eachother on match.com and I had just moved myself across the country where I didn't know anyone. So it was more of a getting me out to see the area type of event just as buddies. Our first actual planned date was to a Braves game and to watch fireworks afterwards. Aww!

I met my fiance on a mission trip to Guatemala. It was my very first international mission trip, and he was one of our translators from Guatemala. He and I talked strictly platonically (he's a good bit older than me, so I thought there was no way in heck he would like me, but I had a major movie-star crush on him). I fell in love with Guatemala and went back the next summer, and he was one of the only people I knew with a car. So on Wednesdays when he would come to the orphanage that I worked at, we would go get dinner. And on weekends, I played flute at his church, so we went out together on weekends.

3 weeks into my trip, he asked me to be his girlfriend. At pizza hut. Earlier that day, we had been in Antigua (the most romantic place on the planet) and the sidewalks were really narrow, and the traffic was bad, so we walked with his arm around my shoulder and my arm around his waist all day. We talked that night. And now we're getting married next year!!!

Oh how I met my fiance...
hahah!
I met him online. And his mother just so happened to live in the town I did. We started talking for about a week, and I said "Maybe next time you are in the area we could grab coffee?" He said "How about now?" I met him and his friend for coffee, then the following weekend he came back up to see me. We went to dinner, then walked around down by the river, sat and talked for hours. It was nice. We had a somewhat of a long distance relationship (he lived a hour and a half away in Cali) until after two months of being together I moved my life to California to be with him. And now, being a little over two years together, I couldn't be happier. We are not only getting married in September, but we bought a house this year in April. Many good things! Many good things!!

We saw Scooby Doo...and even though it was over 9 years ago and we were in high school, I still remember the entire evening like it was yesterday. It wasn't an official 'date' and I spent a lot of it talking about how I didn't need a boyfriend and everything...funny how things work out!

We met on a bus and talked for 6 months when we saw each other. Then he asked my name and I asked his. Then we exchanged phone numbers. Then a few weeks later, he kissed me after walking me home. He moved in 4 months after that and proposed a year and a half after that in August of 2010. We plan to marry May of 2012....by then, we will have known each other for 4 years. I can't even tell you what we did on our first date! LOL! All I know is that I've been laughing and totally happy for the past 3 years!

We met at swing dancing class, so for our first date he wanted to take me to dinner and then dancing. While we were driving he asked where I hadn't gone to dinner before. He wanted to go somewhere that was new for both of us. Then he took me dancing until well after midnight. The next day was opening day of hunting season (he's a huge hunter) and he was up until after 1:30 talking to me on my porch. We just couldn't say goodbye!

Now we always go out to celebrate our first date. It is my last fun evening with him for over a week while he hunts. :)

We went to middle and high school together, but never got to know each other until college. We were friends for about 5 years prior to our first date. Our first date was an overnight backpacking trip to Wild Cat Beach at Point Reyes National Sea Shore, including about 25 miles of hiking. I am a foodie, so I made and packed all sorts of gourmet treats (not at all backpacking food, but it was worth the extra load). We hiked in early in the morning, spent the day walking on the beach and enjoying the water fall. We stayed the night and left early in the morning because it started pouring rain and my tent failed and it flooded. We had a blast hiking back the 12 miles in the pouring rain, and found a nice diner for some hot comfort food when he got back into civilization. It was an awesome and very rememberable first date!

M and I met online and exchanged many e-mails, texts, and phone calls before we admitted that we should meet in person! My roommate's birthday fell on a Wednesday and I had a ton to do, plus I planned on getting her a dozen gourmet cupcakes without transportation! He was so sweet and said he would love to help in any way - should he make the cupcakes instead?! It was too cute - especially since he was eight hours away! That evening he texted to ask how the cupcakes were and reminded me that he would have made them for me! When I told the birthday girl she declared she liked this guy and invited him to her real party that Saturday! I relayed the message and he said that he would be there! ...AND HE WAS! Our first date started out with us going to the Christmas Market at Daley Plaza since he's German and I thought it would be fun, then going to a karaoke bar and meeting basically ALL of my closest friends, embarrassing ourselves by singing, and escorting a super drunk birthday girl home! He wasn't going to make any assumptions so the sweetheart brought a sleeping bag with him - when I insisted that he could sleep in an actual bed, he insisted that nothing happen between us - that we should take it slow. Now I'm moving to Michigan to be with him and we are getting married in November! :)

We met in class in high school and became friends. Then he transfered schools and I never heard from him. He found me on facebook 8 years later and we dated long distance for 2 months before reconnecting in person back in our hometown.

Our first "date" was the day he flew into town. He met me at my mom's house, gave me a big ole kiss and took me to Whataburger and then we went for a walk in downtown Corpus Christi by the Bay. *sigh*

Guess our first "date" would be dinner and a bar. But I knew my guy for a few years before we started dating, so it wasn't really the 1st time we hung out, even alone.

Just before 25th birthday, I finally after years and years of my mom telling me to give it a chance, set up an online dating profile. I went out on a bunch of dates, they were all horrible and just not me. Then, on my birthday, this guy emailed me saying he was interested and wanted to meet for coffee. He was 4 years older than me and had been in the military. I was afraid that he would reenlist and I just couldn't and didn't want to handle that, BUT I figured I would give it one more chance. Turns out, we've been together ever since. We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary and are getting married next summer. I always tell him he was no planned, but he's the best chance I've ever taken.

My man and I had been casual friends for a while, but it was mainly over email and such since I'd moved around a lot. I was going back to Cali to visit my sister and several friends from college, and so we decided to hang out while I was in town. He took me to lunch and then a botanical garden, where he kissed me. I was very surprised! But I gave it some thought and decided to go with it. We were long distance for ~4 months, which I really hated. He moved out to be with me, and 2 years later, we got engaged.

He took me out for drinks when another dude broke up with me...cliche, no? We'd been friends for a while, and while that initial outing wasn't necessarily a date, it was the first time we'd hung out one on one, and things just kind of evolved from there, with some ups and downs in between of course, but now that we're engaged I feel like we're a team that can handle anything together.

After My Friend and I picked him up from the airport we went and changed at the hotel(air port is 6 hrs from my house)when walking down the stairs to go to dinner I slipped and fell and hurt my tail bone(found out later i broke it)he was so cute and hurried up and helped me up saying oh geese your family is going to think I'm trying to kill you we both laughed and went to dinner at dinner there was walnuts in my salad and i was too engrossed in our conversation to realize until i ate one and my tong was numb. Luckily i had some benadryl in my purse and I took it. Not thinking again(he has that affect on me)I drank the rest of my Drink I was so sick that night he had to help me back to the hotel and hold my hair when i was throwing up. It was that moment when he got a warm cloth to wash my face and a cold one for my neck I Knew he was the one! we are getting married May 18th of this year emoticon

We agreed to finally meet in person after meeting on match.com and talking on the phone, emailing and im'ing for a month. He came over to my house and my roommate and son were home and once I gave her the okay that I wanted to go out with him she offered to watch my son and him and I went to Chili's. We talked and talked and barely ate. It was so fun though! I KNEW he was the ONE! Every time I see that Chili's I say 'aaaawwe, our Chili's!!'

I worked with my fiance for about 4 months before we started dating. He was the contract employee for my team. We hung out quite a bit with a third friend, which prevented anything from happening sooner. One week in July, our 3rd friend was out of town. So instead of the 3 of us going to our other friend's birthday party at a bar after work, the two of us went. He asked me if I wanted to get something to eat afterwards--I said yes. We both drove home to change. When he came to pick me up at my apartment, we had both changed into light blue polo shirts. I laughed it off instead of going in to change. We went to Texas Roadhouse. Then we went over to our birthday friend's house to hang out for a few hours. Then he took me home. It was a nice date. No one knew we were dating for about 2 months.

My fiance and I met back in highschool. I was a Freshman and he was a Senior. He was the teacher's assistant for my Biology class. I liked him and he liked me too but neither told eachother. Problem was, his best friend liked me. I guess my fiance was going to ask me out but his best friend told him, shes with me now, sorry. All of a sudden, he was really mean to me and I never knew why so we stopped talking. 3 years later when I was a senior, he was looking through his yearbook and decided to search me on Myspace. We exchanged numbers and he told me call him sometime so we could hang out. I was thinking "Yeah right jerk". He ended up calling me. After hanging out a few times and clearing up the whole Highschool mixup, he asked me on a date.
For our first date we went to see The Pink Panther in theaters. After taking me home (and some kisses), he sent me a text asking if I would be his girlfriend. Best decision I ever made!♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

i used to work in a bar, and week after week, thig 'guy' kept passing me his numner, and to be fair i didnt take much notice, due to being extremely busy. I threw the number away 4 weeks on the trot ( how bad).. the following week, this guy came in again, and we werent as busy. When i looked up to take his order, i couldnt talk, he was GORGEOUS. When i spoke to him, i got all flustered and red faced. hehe. then he passed me this piece of paper, and said 'this is the last week i will try, if your interested heres my number'.. i was sooo shocked that it was Him giving me his number. We have been insepereable ever since. and now have two beautiful little boys and get married in 6 months. its crayzeeeeee xxxx

We are both in the same fire department and so we occasionally saw each other. We danced at our annual banquet, but didn't think anything about it. About 2 weeks later we went to my great-grandparent's cottage on the lake and sat around all night. We made a bonfire and had smores. It was great!

I agree with IBridezilla, that's a really cute story you got there MiracleInSixty!

Mine isn't anywhere as interesting... FI and I met on a dating website and starting talking on msn soon afterwards. I thought he was a nice guy and I could tell he was interested - however, he was too shy to ask me out!

He even told me he was shy and didn't know what do to around girls he liked. emoticon So I decided to take matters into my own hands and started talking about movies... We talked about upcoming movies we liked and found out we had pretty much the same taste in movies. So I waited for him to ask me out - and he didn't.

I'm usually not this straightforward, so I decided to take a chance and ask him out. I told him that we should go to the movies together on the weekend, especially because I was going to be very busy taking exams the next few weeks afterwards and this was my only free weekend.

He agreed and suggested we could go for coffee beforehand.
And that was exactly what we did. emoticon
However, he was still pretty shy and didn't talk that much. I had to think of topics to talk about while he listened and smiled at me. He later told me he immediately knew I was the one and he was just awestruck by how great I was... He simply didn't know what to say and thought I'd never be interested in him. Poor guy...

Things got better when we went to the movies. We were sitting in the dark theater and all of a sudden he wasn't so shy anymore and got very talkative. We had a great time, even though we got a bunch of dirty looks from the people around us. emoticon

The rest is history, and now we've been together for over three years and I can't wait to get to the love of my life!

A friend of mine begged me to go with her to a coffee shop (because she is addicted to caffeine, I swear), and I grumpily went with her, thinking, "it is a HOT summer day, she's nuts for wanting a latte!"

then i walked in to the coffee shop and i'm pretty sure my heart stopped. the most gorgeous man locked eyes with me. he was making the coffee!

I avoided looking at him, and when my friend went to order her latte, I moved to the side to signal to the cashier that I wasn't getting anything (still avoiding gorgeous-man, of course).

THEN, gorgeous man said, "excuse me, miss, do you want a free hot chocolate?"
How could i say no? HIS EYES WERE BECKONING ME! i accepted, and he said, "incredible things happen when you come into this coffee shop."
i replied, "well, then, when is the next day you are working?"
he said "tomorrow."
and I said, "then i will be back tomorrow!"

the next day, I went back, we exchanged phone numbers, and made plans to go to the movies the next day. he kissed me at the end of the movie and admitted that he accidentally made the hot chocolate because he got so flustered when I walked in, and now we are getting married. YAY!
