Today I started training for a 5k...this is my 2nd day to be in the SparkPeople Community! So...after it was all said and done, I walked/jogged 1.13 miles in 20:02 today. Hopefully in 8 weeks, I'll be running it!

P.S. - I hope I am putting this in the right place...not really sure how to comment on a topic in a thread. It looks like I'm replying to the post before me, but I guess we shall see. :)

Ran three miles. It was 88 degrees out when I began my run and this slowed me down significantly. Had a spectacular 3.5 mile run last night, so I was really disappointed in my time today :( Its Friday though! Not much can get me too down ;) Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I am planning on doing a long run of 5 miles on saturday or sunday.

I'm not sure of the distance but I jogged for 30 minutes with some rest breaks. First day of jogging! :)

You are the only one that can pull yourself up out of the mud! Stay focused; keep your head in the game. You can do it!!!

3 miles again today. My goal was 5, but it got really nasty out (lightening, high winds) and I figured I better book it back home. Made it before it started to rain :) Proud of myself for what I did because I went to a wedding last night with an open bar and of course lots of yummy food. Hopefully I managed to sweat out some of the toxins from last night! Definitely had a blast though :)

I am totally new to running. I ran three miles and it took me 37 minutes. I am really trying to improve my time. I am not overweight, but I have always struggled with my cardiovascular fitness. I am 25 and am hoping to make this into my new hobby.

Did 2.28 early this morning instead of waiting and having to do the treadmill. It's so hard for me to get out early in the summer but easier in the fall and winter and I don't know why. But glad I got it done. Up and down a few hills too.

Don't worry Diane, I am also a newbie and don't run a long way. I haven't even managed to check in for almost 3 weeks, but I hope to rectify that. 5.1 km (3.16 miles) yesterday, but I still run and walk.

Good morning all...

I was cruising through your spark neighborhood searching for my perfect team home. I am a very novice runner (more like a jog) and thought this sounded great. After reading through this thread, it seems like you all are past the beginning with the high mileage you are logging. I did not see any length under 2 miles.

I certainly can't (virtually) keep up yet, but I would like to hang around as I work towards my running goals.

After having to take a month off due to a foot injury, I finally started running again last Tuesday. I did 3.73km that day and this morning I did 3.73km again. It's wonderful to be back out there. :D
