So sorry to hear of your loss. That is never easy and sometimes we have other things going on that keep us from our goals...but the fact that you are HERE right now means that you haven't given up! Take the time you need to grieve, but remember that the best gift in life is giving yourself LIFE! Take care of yourself mentally and physically. :-) We're here for you!!

This week has been pretty good actually, so I do feel like I was able to quickly reset from a bad weekend of eating.

Hope you have a fantastic weekend gearing up for a healthy week!

Wow, this week got away from me!

Hope you're having the positive week you envisioned. And I'm glad to hear you're taking a positive view of last weekend. Being out of our routine is a challenge, and guilt won't get you anywhere anyway!

I'm having a better week all around. If my scale is to be believed, I've lost 3 pounds this week. I've been cooking dinner, but haven't quite got the lunch thing down yet. I've been drinking a lot more water, and walking and taking stairs whenever I can. Tomorrow night I'm going to the gym and grocery shopping ~ can't think of a better way to kick off the weekend!

Way to go on hiding the candy away...out of sight, out of mind does work a lot of the time!

Well, I had a horrible weekend of eating. No excuses for it other than I just wasn't being mindful about what I was eating, or how much. We went to my son's in LA and apparently everything about eating right was left at my house, because I ate chips, burgers, fast food, candy, pizza (and WAY too much pizza to boot), danish, chocolate ice cream cake. UGH! If I was to track all that it would be ugly, ugly, ugly.

So instead of carrying forward the guilt of a bad eating weekend I am resetting the brain and the plan today.

Here's to a Happy Monday!!! Let's make this week one of our healthiest yet!

Here's my sad, but true, confession. I love Peeps! I can't make myself part with them, but I can hide them from myself. Last time I did that, I found the last package over a year later (perfectly stale), and it was a nice treat. So for now, I'll go for the "out of sight, out of mind" method. Maybe if I completely forget about them, by the time I find them I won't like the pure sugar taste anymore.

Thanks for the encouragement! As much as I think this sounds like an excuse, and maybe it is in part, my plan is to start tracking again on Sunday. I had an event dinner tonight and a wedding celebration tomorrow. I just don't want to start off mega-discouraged by documenting all that. Sunday = meal planning, shopping, meal prep, and tracking!

Keep up the great work!!

Yeah, I have definitely re-recognized how important accountability is. The simple act of getting it out there in writing - whether in a blog or journal - and then checking back in to see how you are doing on a regular basis can make all the difference. I definitely realize that when I stopped tracking my food is when I stopped making progress.

Speaking of...time to go track yesterday's dinner and today's food that I know about!

And your leftover Easter candy? Feel free to pitch it in the trash! Nobody says that you HAVE to eat it, right?? I told myself the same thing about the pile of chocolate chip cookies that I can't seem to stop munching on even though they are giving me absolutely no satisfaction whatsoever. They are going in the trash can today when I get home from work.

We can do it!! Let's use this weekend to prepare for an AWESOME week ahead of us!

Thank you! May I send you my leftover Easter candy?! emoticon

Life has been so incredibly busy lately. My plan is to take some time on Sunday (first free moment I'll have) to clarify my goals and do some meal planning for the week. I think I'll start using my blog to track goals/commitments/progress; I already forgot I said I wanted to track food! emoticon

It's good to see you back! It is so easy to lose sight of our end goal whether we have been doing this for a short time or a long time...sometimes life just gets in the way and before we know it, we are back where we were, or worse. The important thing is to keep coming back to it! The only failure is quitting completely.

Good to see you taking baby steps towards a healthier life! And yes, food tracking is a great reality check!

Good to see you around! Let me know if there's anything I can do to support you!

Thanks for the blog. I haven't been around here for several months and couldn't even tell you why I visited tonight, but your message is very timely. I've been going backwards for a few months now, and took my first small steps today to get back on track. I think food tracking needs to be the next addition, even if only for the reality check at first.

Hey there team...I know none of us have really been active on here, and that's perfectly normal. Lots of times when we start out on Spark we are assigned our "Class Team" by default, but then through the course of things we find other teams that actually fit our interests.

BUT, sometimes, we just lose our initial excitement and find ourselves going days/weeks/months without coming onto Spark...and before we know it, our Spark has gone out and we find ourselves back where we started.

Regardless of the reason, I know that I am 4 years into my journey and even though I had a lot of success at the beginning, I've been pretty complacent for the past 2.5-3 years of my journey and have made pretty much no progress.

But today I had an epiphany and wrote a blog about...I'm not trying to self-promote, but I'm figuring that some of you may be in the same place since this is a HARD journey - it's challenging, but so worth it for ourselves. If you get a chance, check it out:
