@BACKTOBASICSTR

It really does. It really takes time. I know it's easier said than done but what has worked for me is finding choices that curve my taste for something sweet. It's going to take much trial and error to find what works best for you. One of my favorite things is CACAO powder. I add soy milk and ice and blend it all together. Either I like to have it for breakfast or lunch. Honestly, it curves my appetite for the rest of the day, I have no cravings at all.

Snacking on the unhealthy stuff.

To remedy that, I have lots of assorted fruits on hand and told hubby don't buy me any more chips unless I specifically ask him to. I still plan to eat chips but not a whole bag each and every day like in the past. Right now I have a half bag of chips in the pantry that's been opened a few days ago and have been eating them like a "responsible" adult.... as opposed to an irresponsible spoiled junk food brat. emoticon

I'm afraid of the upcoming holidays. We have been inviting to hubbys' family for Thanksgiving and they are large folks that eat all the bad stuff. I am thinking of making my own keto friendly stuffing and side dish to bring, and I can share, but also have more than turkey on my plate

I think for me it’s emotional eating, not being disciplined enough, making excuses, not having enough willpower to push forward. Sometimes I stay stuck in a comfort zone. I don’t look at what I’m going to gain instead of lose, need to think more about all the positives of losing weight and getting in shape, not about all the food I’m giving up. I need to hold myself accountable, and stay determined to meet my goals. I need to stop being lazy and just do it!

My biggest thing is making good choices with food. I'll do great and then slide right back into the trap of one bite is okay. Well one bite leads to other bites and before I know it I have eaten the whole burger or plate of fries or whatnot. We have lots of bbqs with friends and burgers and brats and steak are the main things on the grill. I have gotten to where I will bring a piece of chicken with me so that I don't get the fatty foods. I also bring a veggie platter along and snack on that.

My biggest distraction is not letting the emotional ups and downs in my personal life effect my motivation. Last night I let go of my boyfriend because I decided that "settling" for the little pieces of time he gave me and long periods of no communication didn't fulfill my needs for affirmation and support. Even though it was only a 2 month relationship, I had high hopes because he was respectful and attentive in the beginning, very different from prior men. He didn't even fight to let go which means obviously I wasn't that important. I cried and had difficulty falling asleep but I won't let that stop me from eating healthy and getting in exercise today. After all I started this journey for myself and I will finish it alone if need be. Next time I will put quality time, communication and emotional availability as a requirement and not allow myself to be intimate until I am sure an emotional bond is securely in place. Sorry if this is too much for a light post but I felt the need to express it.

My husbands food choices. He says that he wants to lose weight (he looks pregnant and doesn't drink beer), however, he won't stop eating Twizzlers, potato & corn chips, lot's of Pepsi/colas; etc. Oh, before I forget..he insists on his Soul Food (gravies, biscuits, cakes, cobblers, etc.) all the while saying "okay, I'm going on a diet TODAY-but it never happens. I don't believe a person who is eating a huge Steak n' all the trimmings but will buy a diet Pepsi/Coke-this time. What is the diet drink supposed to do? Be window dressing, I guess. Like parsley on a plate! LOL! I don't nag 'cause no one could push me into changing he has to change for himself. All I do is try to inform. It's sad when he looks at me (with those deer eyes) and I know what he's thinking: "I wish I could do what she's doing..". What can I do when he won't attempt? I keep striving for ME...but it is difficult 'cause I have to cook for HIM in a way that is destroying his health (he has a "stint" in his heart, too). Prayer changes everything so I keep praying for us BOTH in the meanwhile.
Peace n' Love

My biggest distraction is the fact that there is so much delicious food out there, that really should be tasted at least....How will I enjoy the experience if I didn't eat the food? emoticon That is the mind set I argue with daily....I'm learning that I don't have to eat my way through life....

My biggest distraction is my need to indulge when im stressed. That is the first distraction. The second is sticking to the diet plan. I will start off strong than fall off. I have lost a lot of weight in the past,but can never keep it off. This time I really want to keep it off.
