The rule of thumb is one before, and then as necessary. I go one before and 95% of the time don't need any more. And this is for runs up to and including 2hrs.

So my new question is asthma related. I have begun to take 2 puffs of Albuterol about 10-15 minutes before my runs and it seems to work well. My question is - As I build my mileage, when should I expect to take it again? I've heard you're supposed to wait 1-2 hours before taking it again for the puffs to be effective, but if I'm running consistently for quite some time does that mean I'll need it sooner?
