SUGAR + HONEY COUNT,TOO!
FRUITS are more ACCEPTABLE b/c they have FIBER,TOO~which your body needs!
Look at it this way,CHRISTINA 209, when you are tracking your food, if the food just lists NUMBERS FOR CALORIES,CARBS AND FATS but NOTHING ELSE, IT IS A SWEET~IN MY OPINION. You HAVE to MAKE your CALORIES WORK for YOU! Everything that you eat should have a FUNCTION~FIBER,PROTEIN,FOLATE,GOOD CARB FOR ENERGY. SUGAR IS QUICK ENERGY BUT NO REAL NUTRITIONAL VALUE!

In case you are wondering WHAT are MY DOWNFALLS?~BAKED GOODS {THAT I BAKE ~anything that starts with P~PIES,PANCAKES{I top them with BUTTER AND SUGARY SYRUP!},or C- CANDY, CHOCOLATE,CUPCAKES,CAKES,AND OF COURSE ,MY MOST DIFFICULT TO RESIST ~THE COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~ Goes back to my childhood and LOVING THE 3 DIFFERENT ~FRESH~ FROM ~THE~ OVEN COOKIES my mother BAKED FOR US KIDS WHEN I WOULD COME HOME FROM SCHOOL~It is ALL ON MY Sparkpage ~a LONG read ,but of course, I THINK ~ FUN and INTERESTING, but sad~BOTH my parents died due to obesity and no exercise!

Today is day #4 - no sugary sweets at all

I do however continue to eat my fresh fruit each day - try to do 2 servings a day

We stayed home yesterday and I only had some peanut brittle,(a small piece) and some pretzles.
Today I am going for no sweets at all. (junk food) I will work on all that added sugar when I can understand it better.
What a lot to learn.

I'll try to do this...so tough at the holidays, but what better time to attempt a sugar challenge than when the whole world looks like it's covered in powdered sugar!

I'm having a hard time dealing with my sweet tooth. I try to eliminate sweets for 4 days a week. Then a special event comes up. I eat one bite, that leads to another I'm working on being more disciplined

I stopped eating Hershey Kisses in January. But i have replaced that desire with any other kind of sweet. I have to have a sweet every day. Letwly, it's been butter pecan ice cream. Thats my reason for joining this challenge.

I'm with @PATRICIAANN46. The items that are limited the most are those without nutritional value and the next in moderation are the starchy fruits/veggies. I use spices in my coffee and hot chocolate instead of sugar considering milk has sugar already. For tea, I use spices, fruit juices and oils (sporadically).

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Remember carbs count you should have no more than 120 grams of carbs a day and

you should not consume no more than 15 grams of sugars all day.

learn all about your carbs and the gram. Read labels carefully

Even though I know that fruits and vegetables contain sugar, it is not concentrated or artificial like it is in candies and desserts. I consider a sweet that has NO nutritional value on my list of things to avoid and substitute fruits and veggies that have so much more to offer. The one sweet that I do allow myself to indulge in is Suisse Mocha Coffee, but limit it to one cup/day and this has been enough. I do better with moderation rather than complete elimination.

What a great question!
I have seen a variety of 'sweets' mentioned by members.
What is a trigger to one individual is handled with moderation by another.

The title of the challenge is "TAME Your Sweet Tooth", so your journey will be discovering what 'sets you off'; what triggers an "I can't stop" response and then backing off that particular item.

Glucose or fructose is, indeed, a part of almost all foods as you stated. This challenge helped me identify sweets that either were not a nutritional need for me or that caused me to binge on them.

I am in week one and I am wondering what is considered a 'sweet' to you. Obviously chocolate, that is my go to for sweets, and I see how baked treats can be sweet. What about sugar in coffee or honey on toast, do you count a piece of fruit as a sweet? Essentially all foods have sugars like bread or carrots even, so what are the parameters of this challenge?
