When I'm walking (I'm slow and have to rest more since my stroke LOL) I love to use the Charity Miles app on my phone. It has a whole number of various charities on it and they will pay 25 cents per mile for walking or running and 10 cents a mile for biking. I can usually do a mile, sometimes 2 if I stop and rest. It doesn't seem like a lot for a quarter or 50 cents but it adds up. And when added with others it can be quite a bit. There are some wonderful charities of all types I would love to support but I can't do all. So my favorite that I often choose is the Wounded Warrior project. Sometimes a foundation will give a special amount for a period of time and I get e-mails about that. Right now the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson's is donating $1 a mile for a month I think if we do that charity. You can choose to go with something special that is being done or a charity you happen to like. Charities for cancer, school supplies, women or girls, military, and a whole bunch of others and you choose the charity and check walk, run, or bike, and it keeps track until you are done and then you click finish to end it. You can also pause it and then Resume to continue. Just thought I'd mention that. I've been using it for a couple of years now. I have a Droid phone but they have apps for Droid or Apple either one.
