Don't over do it and hurt yourself. It's great you're ready to get a mile in, but if you get, or aggravate, an injury you'll be sorry. Give it time. Glad school is going well for you.

My wife and I took chicken wraps to the festival. Meanwhile 5 other family were logging their Whoppers, fries, Cokes, ice cream and other stuff. I did have 2 bites of a funnel cake. Strangely, the fascination seems to have worn off.

The festival itself was great. On and off rain all week prior with 60% chance forecast the morning before. But Friday turned out sunny, 86 with slight breeze.

It sounds like you are very busy. I have never thought about packing a lunch to take to a craft festival. That is a clever idea. I am going to a festival next weekend, so I will keep this in mind. Usually I don't have problems if I eat out, and have done that when I go to festivals. My weight gain has been mostly tied to stress eating, depression, and not getting enough exercise. I have had two great weeks at my new school so I am very hopeful that my weight will start a downward slide. I am working in exercise, and trying to keep my emotions in check. I am waiting for my physician's okay on the walking, but I did sneak in a mile walk tonight. It wasn't too painful. The rest I get in through the day. Glad your staying checked in!

September does bring about it's problems. Labor Day for one, then add 7 birthdays, and 2 anniversaries. But I decided to keep going. This Labor Day the extended family wanted to have a brunch. There was some fruit, but other wise nothing healthy. Trying to eat in moderation left very small portions.

I am now working that off. Leading to the Yellow Daisy Festival this weekend. Not many craft shows like it. It is a favorite thing to do. Packing healthy wraps, while the family is telling me "No." They're sending for hamburgers being delivered by a later arrival.

No, I'm not checking out. I just got here and I like the feeling.

This is about the time of year that I begin checking out on myself. While I keep up my exercise, I often neglect my diet. I get over committed and planned meals are usually the first things to go. With my kids gone, big meals are not necessary and they can sometimes make me feel lonely. In order to stay checked in, I am trying to find things that motivate me. I was approved to go back to the YMCA by my doctor. I am hoping this will do the trick, but I know even my best attempts may backfire. I am not sure how getting into the swimming pool will go. I can only hope that I won't fall. I am also planning to go to a few fall festivals. If I plan enough events, perhaps I will stay checked in.

How are you doing this month? Are you checking in, or checking out?

Just Believe!
