Me too! I used to see goals in a different way; more as a means of control. After years of seeing how goals helped my students, I realized that truly important goals can be life changing. Since setting this goal, I am finding myself more motivated. I actually bought a new scale today, fit and fresh food containers for portion control, and a measuring tape. I am not saying that I am becoming an extremist here, but I am feeling like my efforts are paying off. Now I am more willing to follow through with things. Happy Sunday!

Good for you on the -6.

It's funny, previously would look at goals as deadlines. But since joining SP I've put goals to work and to my advantage.

Each day I am seeing small losses on the scale. Even though I am seeing only ounces of loss each day, my weight has been down about 2 lbs. each week. I am feeling more hopeful than I have in a very long time.

The walking for work can really add up. If you don't track it as exercise it's kind of like a bonus. Some days I drive a desk all day. Others, I'm walking up to 5 miles. But it's a different kind of walk.

I am shocked at how many miles I have been walking since starting school, and I am wondering how many miles I was walking last year. I never paid attention to what I was doing at work, and I didn't count it in my daily activity. I guess that may be why my legs usually hurt after working each day. If I keep up my focus on measuring food, and walking at work, I have reason to hope that I will meet my September goals.

I am going to lose at least 2 lbs. a week for the month of September, In order to lose weight I will measure my food, exercise daily, and think positive thoughts when I get upset. Happy September everyone!
