I haven't been up with exercising in March, so I'm going to get back on track this month. I've signed up for a virtual race, and I'd like to run a half-marathon in the fall. :) I HAVE to get in shape because I'm going to be in a wedding in October and she wants us to wear strapless, short dresses!

That handle on eating and exercising is a very worthy endeavor Not one I've been real successful with. The exercise is pretty good, but the eating.......I have no self-control. In the past I've counted Weight Watcher points and that has worked very well. I've used it to drop 25 pounds several times. But that's the problem, the "several times". It's the same pounds over and over again.

My weight has been hanging in there steady all winter but I still want to drop another 15 pounds. I think I use the steady weight as an excuse to say, "Oh I can have that bag of chips." Or, "I haven't gained any weight so these snacks can't be too bad." But of course these are lies I tell to myself.

So....spring, as you said, a good time to re-evaluate. Thanks for the reminder.

I will be getting a new puppy in early May and anticipate that creating a lot of exercise keeping after the little one for a long time. As it grows, I anticipate many long walks and runs with her. Can't wait. (There's another excuse, I can wait until I get the dog! But no, not true.)

Spring is trying to make it's way to us. Today is beautiful except the last lingering dirty snow, and brown grass, but the sky is blue, the sun is out, and it's warmer today than all week.

I'm itching to get outside, but I know it's wet, and muddy out and I'd rather not get dirty. I have my bird feeders out, and I'm happy that they are being used and even though the birds that are using it have been all winter it still feels like it's a spring thing.

I personally need to get a handle on my eating and exercising.

What are your plans for doing that yourself this spring?

I am going to train for a virtual race and I am starting over all of my goals here on Spark people.
