Don't lose hope. My brother said some terrible things about the church. He called tithing a "temple tax." He said some pretty awful things and he and another brother offered scholarships to kids who would leave Utah. I believe they hoped to persuade them to leave the church.

When he died, we checked so we could arrange to seal him to our parents. My other brother had removed his name from membership so we couldn't seal him. This brother never left his membership. While it didn't change his behavior, other things like saving his scriptures and keeping his mission memories lead me to believe that while verbally wanted to appear what he believed to be progressive, he never lost his belief in the Gospel.

Keep faithful and keep praying and loving your son. He may change and a lot of what he says and does can be the challenges of his mental illness.

Have a great day.

I understand the desire to partake of the Sacrament. My grandson came and gave it to me a couple of time about six months ago. Our zoom meetings have been discontinued and next week so will be the YouTube Sacrament meetings. I intend to go to church even though my son does not really want me to because he is afraid I will get the "Plague". He does not believe the church is true. It is so hard to live with him in that respect. But He is a good help otherwise. I am just going to trust God because I need to partake of the Sacrament.

In Canada, there has been a problem getting the vaccine supply and in Alberta, they started with the older seniors first, and then every couple of weeks, they would add another level of ages then able to be vaccinated. Starting this coming Monday (10th), everyone over the age of 12 will be able to get their first vaccine.

I got my first vaccine in the second week of April. I cannot get my second shot until 4 months later, so maybe the second week in August.....

The government has really tightened up the restrictions concerning gatherings, shopping, restaurants (even outdoor patios have been closed), and so on and so on.... Right now, they are allowing church services for up to 15 people, but here's a kicker.... 15 allowed in the church, unless one of them is dead, and then they only allow 10..... And if you move it outside, then you can only have 5 people.

I will be so grateful when ALL are finally vaccinated and hopefully we will be able to go back to some sort of normalcy -- even if we do have to continue to wear the masks! My nephew and his wife are coming to town so he can write his nursing exam to get his RN designation, (they only offer the exam a few times a year, but he wanted to write it as soon as possible and luckily there is a sitting in Edmonton later on this month) Sadly, we can't all get together to enjoy each other's company. The family does some zoom messaging, etc, but it doesn't help me because with no camera or mike, I cannot join in...

The only thing I will miss is the zoom church meetings, because I cannot get in and out of regular cars, but currently I am able to stay home and still enjoy the service. I will definitely miss that when we go back to full meetings. On the other hand, I have not had the sacrament for months and I do miss that.

A few years ago, our Bishop and his family bought a house, and wouldn't you know it, it was outside of ward boundaries (by just a couple of blocks!). There was no one else they could call, and Salt lake would not adjust our ward boundary, but what they did do was adjust the ward boundaries with another ward, and a couple of weeks ago, they finally released the Bishop and called a new one from the changed boundaries. I am sure it will be difficult getting to know his new ward on top of being a new Bishop.

I hope everyone is doing OK.

Good afternoon my sweet sisters. I deleted all my teams except two. I had thought to start my own team but there were no takers for a long time so I deleted it too. Now I can concentrate on this team and the one other.

As members of the church we have so much responsibility in order to stay on the "straight and narrow: scripture study, study the Liahona and Come Follow me Lessons, do our family history, gather names to take and send to the temple. magnify our callings in our ward, and serve our neighbor, not to mention take care of family and sometimes ill members of our family which I am still doing. I do not resent any of it. It is just sometimes overwhelming.

When LDS ladies do all that and then try to keep up on a Spark People, others probably feel like I did at times, completely overwhelmed too. It is no wonder there is not much activity on LDS teams. I felt that way three years ago and stopped altogether. But having gotten so ill from neglecting myself in favor of everyone and everything else, I realized if I did not take care of me I wouldn't be good for anyone. So I am back with a "vengeance". emoticon learning to pace myself.

Being a perfectionist didn't help anything either. That was a sin I had to get rid of by accepting myself as imperfect and loving myself anyway.(a whispering of the spirit) That meant leaving room for Jesus to make up the difference between my imperfection and His perfection: just do the best I can and leave the rest to Him. I realize that is a huge bill to fill . Thank goodness Jesus paid the price for my sins and that because of His Atoning sacrifice I can go the throne of grace in time of need and receive help to be strengthened.

We can do this Spark People "thing" too sweet sisters. Jesus is helping us and will continue to do so..

Cindy, I'm glad you are doing better. I have thought of you lately. I hope you are doing well enough to return to a lot of the activities you enjoy.

I've had my vaccines and plan to return to church in person next month. It is a challenge since I enjoy church from home so much but I need to make myself go and belong again and be a part of the ward. Many of these people I have known since I came here over 30 years ago and I need to stay in touch to know how they are doing.

We lost a ward member early in the pandemic. He was in his 80's and very healthy. His wife and daughter live in the ward and also got ill. It was hard since several ward members also visited him before they knew he had Covid so they all had to isolate. I don't think any of them became ill from him.

My kids all will have had the vaccine by mid April. It is a great comfort to everyone and they can look forward to getting together again. One grandson did online learning as his parents wanted to keep the family safe. He is also returning to in person school next month. It is so nice to see life returning to normal.

Have a nice day and a blessed Sunday.

I am sorry I have not been active. I have been ill and in the hospital. But heavenly Father has blessed me greatly. and I am out and He is helping me.

As I was joyfully thanking the good Lord for healing me, the following popular song from the 70's came to my mind. It was only a couple of lines and the tune but I was amazed at the fact it went so well with my feelings at the time. I thought you might like to listen to the song. you may remember it. Just copy and paste the following link.

I'm glad you are able to attend church virtually. It has been a challenging year for everyone, I think. I have been a hermit before so I have been pretty good most of the time.

I had both knees replaced (planned) and it was perfect as most of my children worked from home and when I needed help, my children were able to be there for me and help me. Church attendance was halted for a while and then we were able to attend in small groups. I stayed home because of my age and to protect others in my life. It has been great to be able to hear the talks and listen to the music. My ward started singing along with the music this month which is a great achievement.

My ministering brother has brought the sacrament once a month which has been great. I have been able to visit my kids occasionally and have sacrament with them. It has been a wonderful testimony building activity for my children and their families as they used the materials and had church at home.

I have marveled at the inspiration to have home study planned and prepared as well as ministering and even the ability to broadcast and have zoom meetings. What a blessing to have meetings online so we can attend them.

I think I will start attending church again in April when it is warmer and people are more vaccinated. I feel like I will be safe even now but am being careful and don't want to become ill because others are not being careful. It will be nice to be in the group and participate in the Spirit in person. It is something I have missed.

I have received my first vaccine and will get the next in two weeks. A week after that, I should be fairly safe and although I will continue to mask, I look forward to having more contact with others in my life.

I'm sorry you have been ill. I hope your recovery continues and you are able to get around more and can participate more. I'm glad you have a good BIL who is able to help you get your computer working for listening at least.

I hope you can receive the vaccine soon. I have heard from others that the vaccine is not as readily available in Canada as it is in the US. It i wrong to have it that way as the way to protect everyone is to have everyone vaccinated and protected. Hopefully it will start to open up for your area as well soon.

Have a blessed Sabbath and a wonderful week.

I am sorry that I have been so inactive lately. 2020 was not the best year for me. In February I fell and totally did a number on my leg, spent months in the hospital.....When I was released, I couldn't go back to my apt because the elevator was being refurbished and I was unable to use the stairs. But even when I did get home, I couldn't spend much time on the computer because I was still having problems bending my leg and couldn't sit to very long at a time. Add to this, several asthma attacks, a bout of Covid, and problems around the apartment, and my year was shot.

I am not healing as well as I should, but I am slowly getting better. I just have to take this very slow, try not to move to quickly so I get dizzy and loose my balance, all that fund stuff.

My brother-in-law loaded zoom onto my computer so I am now able to attend our zoom meetings. (All our meetings are on zoom right now) My computer is very old without a mic or camera, but at least I have speakers so I can hear. Last Sunday was the first time, and it was nice to be there virtually. Isn't modern technology wonderful? I say this with tongue in cheek because I am the biggest technophobe, lol.

Things were slowly starting to open up again from this second wave lock-down, but the third wave is now upon us and numbers are going up again. So I don't know if things will lock up again or if we can continue to "emerge" I certainly pray it will not be of a long duration.

How is everyone doing? Do you have virtual services where you are, or are your chapels open to them. I trust everyone is well.

Take care.
