When I was on my mission I made a little matching game where I cut out pictures from the ensigns...you know a person praying, the scriptures...etc and then on blank cards I wrote out the word of what the picture is. then we had a fun little matching game for kids. It came in handy alot!

Take a deep breath, relax and remember KISS. Keep It Simple Silly! Seriously, with children the simplier is the best.

Take a breath and relax. FHE is a little scary because it seems so formal. It isn't. It is about getting together as a family and sharing testimonies, having fun, and having a little refreshment.

ldsliving@ldsliving.net has a new idea each week. This week's ideas are from provident living.

Have someone pick a song and sing it together. Your husband can help and he can be "conducting" the meeting so you just have to do the background stuff.

You can play some games, sing songs, share stories. It is never intended to be stressful or hard.

Here is an easy idea that we did when I was a Primary President.

Go get a bag and put items that were mentioned in the scriptures in the bag, ie; a coin, a rock, some bread, a fish, a boat, a lamb, a sling, a sword, a leaf, a small cloth, a candle, the items could be from either the new or old testament, the Book of Mormon or Doctrine and Covenants.

For you lesson, have a child come up and pick one of the objects out of the bag- then the child has to tell you a story from the scriptures that the object reminded them of.

You will be surprised how much the young children know, and what story the item reminds them of. It might not be the story that you are thinking of, but it still comes from the scriptures.

After all the items have been picked you could have a treat of bread and cheese, after all that is what they ate in the scriptures and that is and that is you lesson for the evening.

Hi everyone!

So I'm not LDS but my hubby is and I'm currently investigating, but I'm Catholic.

But I really could use your help, please!

My neighbor asked me this morning to host/lead FHE tonight since she won't be in town and the past few weeks we've done FHE at her place with another neighbor who has two children.

So now I have less than six hours to plan an FHE that would work for little kids, and I've NEVER planned, led or hosted one before, let alone for kids! Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated. You can respond here or message me and I would be soooo grateful!

God Bless and thank you in advance for any help!
