Since we are retired the days on the weekend seem the same except Sunday is for church and that is a good thing for me to look forward to.

I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is 'Abortion', because it is a war against the child... A direct killing of the innocent child, 'Murder' by the mother herself... And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love... And we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts...

I have this Saturday night and Sunday off-worked last weekend. Looking forward to a weekend off from the Grind. It is too stressful at work. Need the time to relax this weekend.

I agree; weekends should be spent the way you want to....of course, not forgetting to exercise somewhere in there.......but now since my son went back to college, we are getting up earlier at 7 am and that means no sleeping in during the week so we do sleep a wee bit later on Saturday.

depends what I am doing - for eating out of hand I prefer MacIntosh, but if I am making a pie applesauce or any other kind of baking I prefer Cortland's. similar flavor to Mac's but firmer & better able to stand up to cooking

Both == being healthy is important -- but feeling good about the way we looks makes us mentally healthy

Being healthy and living longer. I can see looking better as how others see you and thus treat you but being healthy is my primary concern.

Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.
Try to be all that you can be. Work at it a day at a time.

I totally agree. I do want to be healthier so that I will have a better life and live longer, but I also want to look better and be able to buy some really cute clothes...hey, looking good makes us feel good about ourselves and that makes us lose weight.:) or at least it sure helps in the process.:0

What's more motivating about losing weight?

Looking better
Being healthier and living longer

I would have to say both of the above. Being healthy and living longer is my first priority and looking good and feeling good about yourself comes along with living a better lifestyle.

Hey! I like all the SP offers. Tracking food and exercise, setting goals, and seeing what
everyone else is thinking and doing. It's all great! I was truly amazed at how high my
sodium level was considering that I don't use salt or very little. emoticon

the tracking tools are a Godsend! this way I can't just SAY I ate well or I exercised - the tracking SHOWS me if I did well or not. And it's a lot easier than setting up a notebook!

SP definitely keeps me motivated. The nutrition track helps keep me on track. I love the blogs and support of other Sparkers.

Elliptical for the body and needlework for the mind and body. It is scientifically proven that the rhythm of stitching slows the heart rate, lowers blood pressure. And it takes my mind to a peaceful place. All the noise in the head goes away.

I don't like cold and on cold days all of my exercise happens indoors - water aerobics, aerobic classes and cardio machines at the YMCA, WATP videos and stationary bike at home.

If it is cold nothing outside. I continue with the exercises at home with elliptical, Malibu Palates chair, total gym etc, I would love to take some dance lessons if I had a partner to take them with me.

What Kind Of Activities Do You Like To Do During The Winter Months????

We get lots of snow up in the mountains, so down hill skiing and cross-country skiing is popular. Taking the grandkids to the outside rink is always fun and then a cup of hot chocolate to warm us all up afterwards. DH and I love to go ice fishing with our Adult son on the weekends.
