Strengthening those muscles around the knee joint really helps. I studied the structure of the knee and this little bit of knowledge also helps. Another tip is to be very careful and controlled when twisting (such as the twisting lunges in T25). Always keep the body and knees in a line.

Ive been dealing with knee pain, wich has forced me to stop running. But I have slowly come to the realization that I can still do high intensity excercises just not high impact. These tips are helpful. I've also found using my rebounder to jump rope and knee jumps ect to be helpful.

Another thing you can do is extra exercises during your work day. Try some slow and controlled lunges and squats. I found that lunges helped me best.

I experienced knee pain too, but it began for me in my 3rd round of Insanity. Here are the things I did:
I modified the jumps, didn't try to jump too high
In the stance jacks, power jacks, all those squat exercises with a jump, I only jumped part of the time and I slowed down
I took an extra rest day or two
I did workouts that didn't require as much jumping and squating (cardio abs, insane abs)
I controlled all movements involving the legs (jumping jacks and especially anything where my knees had to go to the side a bit)

Hope this helps Carlatam. It's a lifelong journey, so do whatever you can to protect your knees ! keep me posted.

I'm feeling more & more since starting month 2. I know my weight has a lot to do with it but in my mind (as a former athlete) I want to keep up as much as possible. I have the jump mat now & I'm using the RICE method after my workouts but the next morning I'm feeling it again. Any tips on how to alleviate this? FYI--I'm paying attention to my stance when squatting.

Carla

Today I will make myself proud.
