Good morning everyone:

I'm super excited this morning as Fitbit support has written back to me regarding my broken fitbit and they will send me a complimentary one to replace it. I'm so happy as I can't do without it. I will definitely never wear it on my bathing suit again. What a great company and I would suggest if anyone is looking for a step counter, it is definitely worth buying it.

Back to work and back to routine.

Jennifer - Where in Northern Ontario are you? I originally come from Northern Ontario (Timmins area), but now live in the Ottawa area.

Hope everyone has a great day :)

Estelle

Good morning everyone:

I had a wonderful weekend. I did end up by jumping into the well water pool yesterday. It got really hot laying in the sun. It was really nice surprisingly. Unfortunately, I jumped in with my fitbit attached and it is not suppose to get wet. I put it in a bag of rice yesterday to see if that would help. I will put it in the charger when I get home and if it still doesn't work, I will have to write the company. I cannot do without now :(

We will be having breakfast shortly and then going back home. Time to do laundry and get ready for work tomorrow.

Anjay - WOOHOO, congrats on the new home and 15 days will go by so quickly.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Estelle

Anjay - Congrats on the new place! 15 days isn't far off but you will be ready when it gets here! I can't wait until we are able to get a place of our own!

Jessica - I hope your husband is feeling better soon. The flu is no fun!

LYNCHD05 - A weekend home isn't so bad! I hope your husband's back isn't anything serious!

We're doing some house cleaning today - we have fallen massively behind in our house work! Then I think we are gonna see if we can track down some fireworks tonight. Our little guy loves fireworks! And I think it's about time to give our pup a test run in public! It should be interesting!

well no phonecalls from the bank yesterday praise God, so Wednesday we go sign the paperwork and finish buying our house in New Germany, so exicted, well was going to wait until everything was finalized but just had to start packing went through my clothes, packed what I don't need, made a bundle of don't want, and put in a small case what I need to travel with, now working through cd's. I can't believe we hope to leave on the 15th only 15 days away, whew, can't wait, no more creepy neighbour, that will be a day to celebrate, when I don't have to lock my door, or I can go out on my own on the weekend, God is so good!!!
Have a great Canada day weekend

I am home for the weekend too; my poor husband is in bed sick with the flu. I went to work and came home and did some housework, baking, and laundry. Dancing Willow, I am home for the weekend too. We may do something but nothing planned so far. My DH has been having back problems so we will see if he is up to walking. Tomorrow is suppose to be rain but Canada Day will be good. Today, was a gym day but I did laps in the pool at the Y then an aquasize class. I knew I was out of shape for swimming laps but boy do I know for sure now. I am going to do something about that. But it sure was good to be there. i came home and did lots of housework and wash so now it is time to chat with my friends while I am enjoying a nice cup of tea! I will talk to whoever is around this weekend. Happy Canada Day everyone!

We're kicking it around home this weekend. Maybe get to a lake or something if we can but otherwise no big plans! I wish I were going camping like so many others though!

Donna I am around this weekend nothing planned, but will have lots in a few weeks
We have had a crazy busy week, we had to extend the deadline, but the appraisal came in well over what we needed so tomorrow the bank manager signs off on everything, if our financial advisor does not call tomorrow, then everything is done, and we go in on Wednesday and sign the paperwork, then the cheque gets sent to the bank in New Germany, then by Thursday next week we will own our new home, whew, God is so good, have not heard anything on the last viewing yet but it is early days, praise God it is nearly complete,
Praying everyone has had a great day

Hi everyone, Is everyone leaving me this weekend? I hope you have an awesome camping trip. We use to love camping but hsve not done it in years. My DH's back seems to be a little better so hopefully we will be able to do some walking for biking on the weekend. It is nice to hear from everyone and Janine, good for you getting into smaller clothes! That is what this is all about. Charlotte, sounds like you have a great time in NS......you can't eat too much fresh seafood and it is so good there. Estelle, enjoy NY.......see you next week!

Good morning everyone:

We are leaving after work to go camping in our favorite campground in Massena, NY. I love going there because it has all the amenities from home plus lots of places to bike and walk :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend. Not sure if I will be posting much this weekend.

Hi everyone. Back to the real world after 8 days in good old Nova Scotia visiting family & helping my auntie celebrate her 90th b'day. Good time had by all & I sure had my fill of fish & seafood in the process. emoticon
Will certainly be able to work off any extra calories weeding the garden & getting the house back to rights. DH is haying, so not much housekeeping going on in my absence. He did do the dishes though - that's progress lol
Good to catch up on everyone's news and to see some new sparkies joining the conversation.
Canada Day coming up - the official start to summer for me anyway! emoticon

Hi all! I've been busy busy. Yesteday I went for a bike ride and today, I walked the mall over and over. it's nice to be able to do that without using my puffer. I'm now in a blouse that I couldn't button 2 months ago and that really feels good. I know I have a lot more to lose but I'm just concentrating on the here and now and how I feel. If I look too far ahead my journey will look like forever and I'll get discouraged. We are going camping this weekend so there will be lots of swimming and biking. Now all of us have bikes since I gave my old one to my daughter. There are lots of trails in the area and I'm looking forward to it but not the drive through Toronto.
Last night I just wanted to eat all the time so I filled up on pickled beets and a peach. My stomach has been a little "off" the last few days and if I wait too long to eat, I feel nauseous. Oh, well, this too shall pass.
Looking forward to the World's Cup this weekend. I hope we can find a place to go and watch!

Donna - I have some elastic bands too :) I just finished my weights now and so I concentrate on doing some biking and walking this weekend which is my favorite. I do the ST twice a week, but it definitely is not my favorite, LOL. Don't want to ruin a good weekend, hee hee.

Lishwa, welcome to our group. Don't worry about the ten pounds. If you are working at it, the pounds will come off. (PS.....what is your name? it would be nice to know so we don't have to call you lishwa!) Estelle, we are all happy that you are enjoying your new job. And imagine, already you have a long weekend. Enjoy your camping. As far as ST in the motor home you might want to think about bands. They take up no space and will work anywhere. i have 3 different colours and they fit well into a suitcase. Anjay sounds like some exciting things are happening in your life and also how are you feeling. I detect a smile on your face. As for me, I was off to the gym this morning for my ball class....love that class....hate the 15 planks that we do but love that I can do them. So I did a few errands and now I am looking forward to golf tomorrow. there could be showers but I prefer to believe that it won't rain. Have a good one everybody and we don't talk tomorrow have a nice long weekend.........and a Happy Canada Day!

Good morning everyone:

I really enjoyed my day yesterday at work. It is a nice change to be busy and occupied all day. Not too busy, but just enough so I don't spend the day on the internet like at my other job. My office is all set up now, so I'm a happy camper.

I didn't get to do any exercise yesterday because of my evening appointment. However, I did manage to walk 4.5 miles during my day, so that counted for sure, hee hee. I definitely do not just sit at my desk at this point in time.

Tonight is ST and elliptical as we are leaving to go camping for the long weekend tomorrow after work and I can't do my ST in my motorhome :)

Lishwa - Welcome to the team. Sometimes when you plateau like that zig zagging your calories will help. The last 10 lbs is usually the hardest, but don't give up because it will come up. Also, changing up your exercise might help. Good luck!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Estelle

Hi! First time posting in this thread.
Definitely feeling discouraged. I made the mistake of looking at my weight chart. Sigh. These last ten pounds feel impossible. I've been 10lbs away (except for three weeks) since MARCH. Since I'm petite (5'0) the 10lbs actually do make a difference. 5lbs separates me from a healthy BMI and not, and 5 more would put me in a position where I am happy with my body again, and would negate the health risks I've been working on getting rid of--namely the health risks of carrying extra weight around the stomach. I can't think of what else to do to push my body out off this plateau.

Good Morning everyone. Our group seems to be small today for some reason. Estelle, you were up very early! I guess this is the new life of a working lady. I remember those days so well. I use to work downtown which was a 40 min drive in the a.m. and even longer coming home. I use to go to the gym near my office then off to work so i left home around 5:20 each day. Today, I left home @ 7:40 for an 800 gym class. I like that much better. it was a good workout and now I will do a few things around the house then off to do some errands. Have a good day everyone!

Good morning everyone:

It is 545 a.m. and I've been up for 1/2 hour. I'm raring and ready to go to work :) Pretty cold out this morning. After the 40 plus temperatures we had last week, this is a little bit hard to take.

I'm looking forward to getting my steps and stairs in today. Back to my routine of doing exercises after dinner. However, I do have a wax appointment tonight, so not sure how that will go :(

Hope everyone has a great day.

first of all Joanie....welcome to our amazing group! We would love to hear from you. Anjay that is amazing.......size 2.......that is what I wore when i was in diapers!!!! only kidding.....way to go girl! You should take a picture and post it for us! Janine good for you too.l to lose 26 pounds is awesome. You girls are making me want to do better. Anjay is there any problem where you live with the flooding. I was reading the paper this morning and it sure looks like there are lots of places that are having a real problem in BC. I hope you are safe. We are fine where we are but they are expecting the Fraser to be pretty bad for the Fraser Valley this coming weekend. All that snow last winter and now all the rain is causing this. it is melting and heading to the ocean. Be safe. I am off to the doctor today then just the usual Monday chores. Have a good day everyone!

Estelle, you probably needed the sleep, after all it's been a pretty hectic month for you and now, with everything settled, you can rest. (Until tomorrow anyway)
Anjay, wow! I'm just aiming for a size 12. Amazing!
Great weekend food-wise and out of curiousity, I weighed myself this morning and I'm down again by over a pound. I don't know why but I guess my body is just doing it's "thing". But I will take it! So now I'm officially down 26 pounds since January and it's about 1 pound a week on average. I'm very happy with that because I knew from the start that this was not going to be another quick fix but a lifelong journey.
Have a great week all! Happy St. Jean Baptiste Day, Quebecers.

I don't know what was wrong with me yesterday, but slept most of the day. I slept through the race, got up and had supper and I was back in bed with the lights out at 8:45 pm. I woke up a few times and finally got up at 8:00 a.m. today. I guess my body needed it.

Anjay - WOW, size 2. Good for you girl. That is better than any scale, hee hee :)

Pretty weird that I am looking forward to going to work tomorrow :) Hope everyone has a great day!

Estelle

you guys were making me chuckle so much about your fish discussion I forgot what I was going to write lol!!
Mojo just stick with it, I was faithful with everything I did tracking, eating, and exercise and was in a plateau for 6months, then I lost 8lbs with the spring challenge, and I have put 1.5lbs back on because I stopped tracking and measuring, so now i am back to that, so we will see, but last week was the week I put the other 1/2lb on and I measured and tracked everything lol as I said frustrating.
Joanie welcome and jump right in.
Today was grocery day, man I hate those days, but I detest Kamloops so that doesn't help but wait for this, hope everyone is sitting down
Mark's work wearhouse was having a clearance sale, they had these dusty pink capris on sale, hubby said he would treat me, so I went and got a size 6, and tried them on, they fell down lol, I said to hubby can you find me a 4, so off he went, brought back a pair, didn't check the size, they are a tad snug, but bought them said when I lose the last 10lbs, it was orignally 81/2lbs, but oh well. So we bought them, when we got home, he looked at me and said are you sure they are not too tight, I said no you checked, they were snug but I can breathe in them, he said oh ok, cut the tags off when I was going upstairs, he said you may want to take the sticky size thing off the leg, well I nearly fell over the sticky tag said a 2, I checked the label and they are a size 2, wow, no wonder they are a tad snug, but a size 2 I am still in shock lol!!! I have all the motivation I need now, I want them to fit a little looser, but wow man oh man!!!
Hope everyone has had an awesome Sunday
Hugs and prayers
Anjay

Janine - I will try the crappie this Wednesday, as honestly I have never tried it. My sister said it tasted like pickerel, so I will give my verdict after I eat it :) I only have a little bit. The rest is bass.

When we were permenant camping, all the fishermen gave their crappies and catfish to an old guy who would clean them and at the end of the camping season, he would have a 'fish fry' for everyone. I only went once. There was so much batter that I'm not sure there was any fish inside. Other people raved about it though. Crappie isn't too bad it prepared right away and is bigger than normal, but where we were on the Trent River it had a "particular" aftertaste I didn't like (Dipped in bleach?) I do love catfish though and have recently found Basa Fish from Vietnam's Maychong Delta which is a type of catfish.

Donna - LMAO, yep "crappy" doesn't sound appetizing for a name, but it tastes like pickerel. I agree, pickerel is also my favorite. When I lived in Northern Ontario, we would fish pickerel all the time :)

Hi everyone, today i am late posting as I had a slow Sunday am. I did not go to the gym as I had a bladder infection yesterday and was just not feeling myself. I ended up in the walk in clinic yesterday afternoon and that was a two hour wait. That is ok though as I got what I needed and now I am on the mend.
Estelle, sounds like you had an awesome weekend. I have never had crappy before....doesn't sound appetizing 8)........what does it taste like? I agree with Janine....I love pickerel. We don't have it here in BC but when we go back to Winnipeg we sure make sure we have several feeds of it there. Yummmmmm......
Ruth, your progress will show next week. We all have those weeks when we are so good and it seems like nothing has happened. Our bodies all have those times when we are a little heavier. Good for you for losing !!!! We are way to hard on ourselves.
Ruthie, good for you quitting smoking. That is such a hard thing to do and the best thing in your whole life that you can do for you body. And giving up sweets at the same time is a very difficult thing but probably the best thing. Keep it up and pat yourself on the back. So that's it for me today. Have a good Sunday everyone. I am going out for a short walk now. We are lucky.....finally not raining!

I'm glad you like your new job and boss. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and St. Jean Baptiste day. Luck you. Two long weekends in a row!
Enjoy the fish although Bass and Crappie are not my favourites, if I smother them in lemon and spices their not bad. I prefer Pickerel. emoticon
Enjoy the race. Mine is Formula #1 which I watched this morning.

Good morning everyone:

I have just come back from spending the weekend with my sister and I had a terrific weekend. Fishing was a blast and I even caught some bass. I now 5 meals for myself of bass and crappy fish in the freezer, woohoo.

My first day of work was excellent too. People are really nice, boss is awesome and I love my new office. I am really looking forward to going back on Tuesday.

Today is dedicated to laundry and Nascar race with some relaxation.

Ruthie - Your husband is right...don't give up. Give your body some time to get adjusted. Also, are you measuring your food as that can be a real downer. If I don't measure, I eat way too much and I gain. You lost, so be happy :)

Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend.

Estelle

Ruthie, check out my blog ~ Up and Down Like a Toilet Seat at a Mixed Party.
No matter how well I stick to the plan, I do not lose weight consistently. Your husband is right. Please don't get discouraged. You lost! It's better to have lost 8 oz. than not to have lost at all or to have gained 8 oz.
You know you are doing the right thing and eventually, your body will respond.
Chin up lady! emoticon emoticon

Good Morning everyone,
It was a cold evening here , We actually had to turn the heat on! This Morning is 59 f and it will soon be July!
I am very, very disappointed today as it was my weigh in day, After following the menu on SP all week, and exercising , I only lost 8 ounces!
My Husband tells me that I will lose next week and not to give up , so I am going to hang in there.
It is 2 weeks today since I quit smoking and sweets and quitting sweets was the roughest of the two.
I am off to work for another day , then I have 3 days off and home to increase my walk from 2 miles to 3 miles.
I hope to hear back from some of you.
Have a great Sunday!

Ruthie.

Good Saturday morning all.
Anjay, my prayers are with you that the pain stays at bay.
Estelle, I hope your first day was good and that you aren't suffering from information overload!
Donna, I wish you a hole in one!
Ruthie, welcome, I look forward to getting to know you better.
Last night hubby and I tried Basa Fish for the first time. It's a form of catfish and is tasty but mild. We made it a fish and chip night with the potatoes done in the T-fal Actifry and the fish pan-fried. Homemade cole slaw rounded out the meal and it relieved my craving for fish & chips from our favourite restaurant but with one-third the calories. After 3 weeks of turmoil, I'm back on track and emoticon I feel good. emoticon I knew that I would now! emoticon ( I love that song can ya tell?)
Have a wonderful weekend all emoticon Cheers.
