Good evening to all. Here for a minute. Ordering some Christmas gifts, balanced checkbook, laundry, dishes, etc.

Marsha.TN I know what you mean when you say mind wonders. Then I think to myself, what did I just read. I wish I were more of a reader, and have tried many times. Hope your get-a-way will be relaxing for you, and look forward to hearing all about it. You don't ramble. :)

I too will get into my crocheting once it gets cooler, just can't bring myself to do it when hot weather. We made Cross bookmarks at our Ladies Craft meeting. They came in kits and we put together. We are going to have a craft sale in Nov. I believe it is. So much going on right now I can't remember.

Fran, thanks for taking the time to post your words of wisdom.

Irene, so glad you have a friend to help you. Glad you got out.

Chris, I hope your Mother was feeling better tonight. I talked with my Sister-in-Law in Oh at the hospital, and she will know if she gets to go home tomorrow, I told her I would call her in the morning. They don't seem to think she had a stroke, and no blood on the brain after all. Prayers were answered, she said she is very weak, and has to have help to get around. Surely they won't send her home. Praying that she will be in a good assisted living as that is really what she wants, so she can be around people.

Gloria, hope Rolly sleeps better tonight. I got up at 1:30 this morning because I couldn't go to sleep and ate a bowl of cherrioes. Went back to bed and fell asleep.

Hugs and prayers to all.
Thanks for the prayers for her. Judy came this morning and brought us breakfast from McDonalds, not healthy, but I ate it. I have to start getting serious.

Wow, sure are a lot of nice posts to read tonight again!

You donít ramble Marsha TN, you write nicely to everyone and about what you are up to!! I know youíre going to enjoy your evening and sleepover at Susanís tomorrow! And no, Rolly isn't allowed to have anything for sleeping, he has complicated health issues and his mind can get very confused if on sleeping pills. He takes a relaxant pill before bedtime, a prescription one but when his mind is filled with chores and things, he cannot shut it off. He worries daily about everything, canít help it. And other times, it is pain that keeps him awake. It is difficult to deal with his situations. Thank you dear, for asking about him.
You're not going to have your beautiful hair cut off, are you?? It looks so nice in your photos.

Good to see you Irene and Iím always thankful that you have such a good friend in Brian. You have really true friends. How is everything going with you?

Mary, hope you sleep well tonight but maybe thatís a foolish thing for me to say when it is your mattress that sucks! Rolly bought a new one a couple of years ago for his bed and says he can never sleep well on it. So it doesnít even matter if itís old or new. Mine is old and maybe should be replaced but I get great sleeps on it and hate to let it go! The house sounds awesome, really nice for the winter/cold months. And you'll be able to shower all the time and have a bathroom, water, hydro, the works! I'm darn happy for you, girl!

Kathryn, how nice of you to visit your walking buddy. Sad time for her and sheíd enjoy your company. Maybe you could have her come to your place to visit, that would give her a change of scenery if she isnít up to walking with you yet.

I thank you again for all the quotes you share with us Fran, each one has a message and encouragement too!

Hi to Marsha FL, hope your SIL is doing okay. Let us know when you can?

I had my hair cut this afternoon and she cut it extra short for me. I still like it curled, flat top doesnít suit me, lol. But my hair grows exceptionally fast and I have it cut every 3 weeks during the warm weather but am now back to a once a month cut! My sister and her husband came right as I was going to make a casserole for our supper. Her hubby came to help Rolly with enclosing the back patio. They didnít get much done, they worked at putting in the door and finally decided it needed some taken off the top. So he took it home in his van and will bring it back, done, tomorrow. Sis and I had a very nice visit. She has not been feeling well for days, not a virus, itís her impaired immune system and she goes downhill quickly when it gets acting up! She cannot eat and sheís too tiny to begin with, itís a real concern!

Getting off here, canít write and watch Bones on TV, lol. Goodnight ladies, see you tomorrow.

Good evening. I'm going to try to read everything and not ramble a lot this evening.

Gloria, I looked up V. C. Andrews, and she died in 1986. However, there are lots of later publications, so they are either republished or someone published some she had not had in print yet. I saw your comment that Rolly isn't sleeping well at night. I know that makes for a long day for you. I'm so sorry. Would he be able to take anything to help him sleep? I know he has a lot of health issues and may not be able to take anything. It would be helpful to him and to you if he could take something.

Kathryn, I'm with you. I've had a hard time getting interested in my knitting and crocheting. I think it is a winter project. I have a throw started, but lost interest in it. Hopefully, I'll pick it up again as the weather cools. It's hard to have a throw you are working on spread over your legs in the summer don't you think!

Mary, your farm house sounds wonderful. So glad you have the worry behind you. I think this will be a great time for you to work on changes you want to make. You will sort of be "starting over" for the winter in a new place. Hopefully it will give you a different perspective. I'm happy for you! I hope the bath helped Panda. That's why I refuse to have a new pet...I would worry if anything seemed abnormal, and I know I couldn't afford many vet bills.

Fran, what on earth do you do when the weather is bad outside? You work all the time, and I have a feeling you can't sit still long. At least you'll get your gym workout in even if Racey wants to stay in. Smart dog!

Shirley, have you had your hair extensions done yet? I may have missed it in a previous post. If you got them, do you love them? Is this the first time you've had them? It sounds like you have had a busy, fun day. I get my hair cut tomorrow, and I can't wait! I wish you had some of my hair. It is so thick it takes forever to get it dry, and it has gotten so long I can't do anything with it. I try to put it up, but it's too heavy. It pulls, and I end up with a headache. I think I'll stick with the shoulder length bob. Since I have no neck, that's pretty short!!

Marsha, I think you either love reading or you don't. Different strokes for different folks. I don't remember a time I didn't love it. I still have my Mother Goose book an aunt gave me before I was old enough to read. Of course, I love books. I started working in the school library when I started junior high (as soon as I was old enough), and continued all through high school. After Eastman retired me I worked eleven years in the library for Emmanuel Christian Seminary. I went through a period after my divorce when I didn't read for several years...too busy catching up, growing up, and playing volleyball for Eastman. I did a lot of after hours work with Eastman's recreation department. For all I love to read, I have a reading comprehension problem. If I'm not interested in what I'm reading, I can't remember anything an hour after I read it. Proved to be a problem in literature classes.

Chris, your dinner menu sounds yummy. I probably could have filled up before the actual pasta dish. The lemon curd fruit cake sounds interesting. I hope a storm didn't hit you hard today. I watched the evening news, and they didn't say anything about storms up your way. Hope you dodged a bullet today.

Okay...so much for my not rambling. Can't help it once I get started. Don't think I'll have time to check in tomorrow. I've worked around the house some today, and I've got to gather dirty clothes, pack, and be ready for my hair appointment. I may have an hour after my appointment before Susan comes after me. I hope she doesn't get the bright idea to leave work early. I've not told her I'm getting my hair cut. Thought I'd surprise her. I look forward to spending the night with her. I'm betting it will be beautiful at her house with the colorful trees and the lake. I hope it will be warm enough for us to eat on the deck.

So, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday and Friday. I'll check in Friday evening.
emoticon

LOL Marsha, this farm house has two bathrooms, one with a shower it is all new, the one up stairs has a tub , I didn't notice if it also had a shower.

More cupboards then anyone person needs, it is a modern , remodeled kitchen/dinning room.

My attitude is still great but I am beat. Shopped for groceries, made some soup for freezing We went to see the new place then Jim stopped to talk to Harv. Panda licked and licked all night so Harv made me come in to his place and bath her. She has never done this before so I have no idea what it is. Just what I needed , right?

I slept well but not comfortable-- the mattress sucks.

Mary you inspire me to get back on track

Chris your meal sounds wonderful, good that you could enjoy time with friends. Hope the weather held off and you got your planting in.

Allie emoticon You will find this a very friendly group with a lot of nice ladies.

Shirley hope the new shampoo was good. I changed shampoos last month and my hubby says my hair shines more

Fran emoticon

Gloria hope Rolly feels okay and can get back to sleeping good.

I went and visited with my walking buddy. Her mother died recently and she has just not wanted to go for a walk. We visited in the lobby of the building she lives in. A group of ladies were crocheting and gave me the urge to start back on mine. I don't like to do it in the summer, it is a more of a cold weather project. I am making a throw for the couch.

Chris, your supper last night sounds wonderful. Glad you enjoyed it. We all need some time out with friends to make our life complete.

Gloria, I am like Mary and you in thinking I got to get back on track. I didn't get to TOPS as udy called and said she was stopping by if it was ok. By my scales I lost a half a pound since last Wed. that is 2 1/2 pounds so far, slow and sure.

You all talk about all the books you have read, and I am not a great reader. My mind seems to wonder, and then I get uninterested. I am into crocheting more as I can see something that I have completed. Geo. Jr. is a big reader, and so was late hubby. I like to see results in something I have done, and don't see it when I sit and read. Just me!!

Good morning to all, had a good night's rest once I got to sleep. Judy just left, she brought some more things, and will bring more Sunday after church. She brought us a breakfast from McDonalds and I made coffee. Not the best choice for breakfast, but it did taste good. :)

Hope everyone has a great day. I need to go and get some groceries sometime today. It rained during the night and the sun is trying to come out. Supposed to have a cool rest of the week, and weekend.

Welcome Allie to the group, we are a fun and loving group. Won't find any friendier gals anywhere. Open you page up so we can add you as a friend, and give you Spark goodies.

Chris, I sure pray your Mother is feeling better. We are at the age that we really don't know what the next day will bring. It has really had me thinking hearing about my Sister-in-Law. She is 10 years older than me (93), but still makes me realize I need to do whatever I can to better my health.

Mary, we will want to see pictures of the farmhouse, How exciting? I could hang my hat on a hook and call it home. I love old farm houses, brings back memories of my childhood when we would go and visit my couisins in Indiana. Of course back then, no running water, and a outhouse with a Sears Roebuck catalog. :)

Fran, thanks for the daily postings and being so faithful to us. Seems like so many really fall in place.

I have kinda a headache this morning, think it is stress. Haven't heard anymore from my nephrew about my Sister-in-Law and we are like Sisters. I was in first grade when she and my brother ran away to KY to get married so she has been in my life a long time. They always spent the winter with DH and I every year and we had so much fun. She has been very depressed lately, and I have called her each week to just talk to her.

Hugs and prayers to all.
Marsha

Shirley we get the house Nov 1st. So slowly we will move to it. I know I will be using the shower first and for most. Can you believe the whole summer came and went and I never went into the lake once, it was always too cold. I did go in the river 3 times. Just walking.

Shirley enjoy your day, sounds nice.

Gloria, as far as I know, it cost the farmer LOTS of BUCKS to have any farm house separated from the farm land. That is the reason there are so many empty houses around here.
The ones that don't want to bother with renters, just leave the homes to deteriorate. Sad but true.

Marsha FL, I am so sorry to hear the news of your sister-in-law. Take whatever time you need. We love you very much and understand how troubling it is for you right now.

Allie, welcome to the group. I hope you have a good time on your trip.

Chris, you must be worried about your mama. At least you live close to her so you can check in with her frequently. Glad you had a fun dinner with your gal pals. We women really need those times together. It was sweet of your Italian firecracker to try to set you up, but you do very well on your own. You are blessed to have your family live so close to you.

Mary, your farmhouse sounds ideal. I am so happy that you have a plan and don't need to worry about what you will do this winter. Do you have any idea when you will be moving in? Won't it be nice to shower whenever you want? I'm with you on getting this weight off. I had been freaking out thinking Sam was mad at me, but we're ok. I need better tools for dealing with stress, because stress doesn't look like it's going to leave me anytime soon!.

We'd better get this show on the road!

Good morning all. It is a very grey day indeed here. We will be taking a day trip to Gravenhurst to see the Norman Bethune House. Then I would like to visit one of our favourite bookstores in Bracebridge. Walmart is also on the list of places to stop in at.

Today is a shower day for me and Sam left me a new shampoo and conditioner to try. I'll return it to her tomorrow when I take John Jr home.

Good morning Chris. I agree with you, you had two emoticon fellows in your life and not really ready for another try and I'd say if you're happy, that's what counts. My oldest daughter never married, had a long reunion with a fellow who ended up leaving her for a younger model. She is happy alone now. Oh dear, listen to "mother" lecturing, sorry!

Hi to you too Mary. The house sound ideal, is he thinking of selling it?? Would be great!
No, Rolly is not sleeping well at all and it can be a long, tiring day for each of us! I'll say no more, lol.
Not a good day for doing any roofing, the weather is not good! Very dull, grey and drizzling here too.
You're so right, we are the only ones who can take our own weight off! For me it is and will always be an ongoing thing/problem. I'm having everything checked out with my doctor next week to make sure nothing is preventing me from losing, sometimes meds or an ailment will hinder our good intentions.

Good morning

Rolly does not seem to be sleeping as much as he used to. The new place is only down the road about a mile maybe a little more. The neat thing is , it is off the hyw. but from the porch you look out and see the traffic on the hyw. It is on a dead end road and the only house on the road. I think if you follow a trail at the end of the road it takes you to the lake. I haven't looked into that yet.

I hope the storm holds off until you are done your work Chris. Yep, no need to be involved with a man right now, you have enough going on.

Today was going to be shingle day but it is drizzly out and rained all night so I can't see him starting it today.

Good morning and happy hump day, to you! (As Fran would say.)

Cloudy, still in the 70's and humid. No rain yet and the wind is non-existent.
The calm before the storm? I see the line moving in, on the weather. Right when I will be moving big plants. emoticon
Ah well. I wont have many to do.

So supper, last night... Fruit, crackers, cheese, a wonderful salad, rolls, pasta with tomato/Italian sausage, wine and a lemon curd, fruit cake. Even got leftovers to bring home!

I suggested a potluck for next time, as this Italian firecracker emoticon always puts out a spread.

She also tried to play matchmaker with her neighbor! emoticon No thank you.
Nice guy, but NO! She meant well. I had gotten a vibe that he was interested. emoticon I even do yard work for the guy, so that makes it even funnier.
I am happy just by myself. Been there, done that, twice. emoticon emoticon

A long day for me, too Gloria. Let's pace ourselves, drink our water and eat healthy to keep the energy going!

Everyone have a nice day! emoticon emoticon

Good morning everyone!

Wow, miss coming in here for an evening and you miss a lot of bonding! First of all, Iím really sorry to hear about your SIL Marsha FL and we certainly will understand if you arenít here for a while. Iím keeping her, and you, in my prayers, dear friend.

Hi Alli, warm welcome to the chat thread. Yes indeed, we have a wonderful, warm, friendly group of ladies here and each one is a precious friend. How awesome that youíre going to hear the Presidentís wife speak, I think she would be great to hear! When you Ďunprivateí your spark page, weíll come on there and leave goodies/comments. Lots of newer members of sparks donít realize they are automatically set to private.

Marsha TN, I used to read all that authorís books, are there any recent ones do you know? I mean the author of the Flowers In The Attic series. I hadnít watched The Biggest Loser in a couple of years but am enjoying this seasons for some reason.

Mary, Iím not the least bit competitive either! Iím one speed, always did go at my own pace, have never tried to keep up with anyone. I agree that that series got a bit boring to read after a while yet I stayed glued till books were done! I love Stephen King novels and think Iíve read them all except for any recent ones. Woo Hoo about the house! It isnít far from your cabin??

Shirley, good to hear youíve had a nice time with your hubby and children. I am the same with jigsaw puzzles, have not got the patience to sit and do one. I get frustrated easily with them!

Fran, thank you for your quotes, they are always so positive, just like you!

Chris, I hope your Mama gets feeling better soon. And Iím so glad that you enjoyed the Italian meal and the company you had it with. Does wonders for us to be with warm friends/family.

I got up at 5:30 and Rolly was already up. Going to be a long day.

Enjoy your Wednesday everyone!

emoticon Allie! Yes, this is a wonderful warm group of ladies! It is like family and I love it.

Hopefully your recovery from your tooth being pulled will be swift.
I know how that can be, both good and bad. emoticon

Enjoy hearing the first lady speak, on Wed.!
I remember how excited I got hearing Ronald Reagan, Oliver North and Sarah Palin(before she went rogue) Something you will always remember.

Good evening to all, I can't possibly catch up on the postings so I will say to all of you. have a good night's rest.

I went and got hair done, came home and just did what I had to do. Geo. and Karen are safely in Las Vegas. I called to my Sister-in-Law in Ohio last night and she was really down. She didn't talk like her, and her voice was weak. She said that she was going to the doctor this morning. I told her that I would call her tonight, and I did and it went to her answering machine. I knew something was wrong. She is 93. I wrote a Facebook private message to her son and ask if everything was ok, he answered me back and said she was in the hospital checking if she had a stroke. This upsets me to no end. I just don't feel like doing much writing right now so if I am missing for a while you will know why.

Hugs and prayers to all of you.

Marsha/FL

Mary, I think the title I read was Petals in the Wind. I know it was the second in the series. I don't remember a lot about it, just that it freaked me out and was hard for me to get through for some reason.

Allie, this is the best group of ladies...and we sure like to talk! One of us will take a break every now and then, but we share our lives with each other and have become good friends. Some of us also engage in some form of needlework, too. When I first came to the team I immediately felt welcomed, and after about a week of checking in I began to catch on to what was going on in the life of each member. There's always something, isn't there, ladies! emoticon It is a very loving, supporting team. They have become family to me. Oh...and we all love fur babies! It's amazing how a group of women of different ages from all over the U.S. and Canada have come together and find we have so much in common to rattle on about. Please jump in and join us daily if you have time. You have to come in and tell us about Michelle Obama. No matter whether or not you agree with her husband's politics, I think she is an amazing woman with a lot of common sense.

It just occurred to me we haven't heard from Faye in a while. If you are reading, Faye, I hope you are well and happy and enjoying your new environment.

I'm out of here for the night. Still expecting storms, but hopefully not too severe here. It's coming your way Chris. I hope you are enjoying your evening with your friends.

Goodnight all.

Hello everyone:
This looks like a very friendly and chatty team. I joined the team but I have not been on here in quite some time.

I love Stephanie Plum also. It sounds like you have some good readers in this group. I joined a book club at the local library and I am really enjoying it.

I am recuperating from having a tooth pulled. I am planning on going to Philly tomorrow morning to hear Michelle Obama speak. I was able to see Hillary Clinton last week. I don't usually have such an exciting life but I am enjoying it right now.

I hope everyone has a good evening. I will try to check in more often.

Marsha T LOL I have one gear, and it's very close to neutral. I also don't have a competitive bone in my body... what a funny statement coming from a Lady who loves foot ball and car racing. BUT I know exactly what you mean.

Living the life I do now, I can take all the time I want to do what ever I want, I have had a hard time getting used to the idea , don't even know if I am there yet but I am trying.

Do you remember the name of the book V.C. Andrews wrote that scared you?

Gloria I am surprised to know you read " Flowers in the Attic`` it got a little stale has Marsha puts it but I am one that has to finish what I start ---

Looks like we have some serious storms rolling in later today. They are saying there will be some damage. It's in the mountains on the NC side now. Coming your way, Chris. I'll probably end up sleeping on the couch with the TV on tonight since they are saying our storms will last through the night. We have one station that the "weather center" is manned all night, and they break in to programming when anything changes. Gives me a little feeling of security.

Beat the rain this morning and was able to get my book from the library. The other one won't be here until Thursday, so I won't get it before Saturday or Monday since I'm going to Susan's Thursday. The weather is predicted to clear here Thursday and be pretty for a few days. I look forward to enjoying Susan's deck overlooking the lake.

Shirley, thanks for the two book/author references. I always check it out when you mention a book or author (unless it's one of your beloved "old" ones). I love the cat in the library mysteries. Love Stephanie Plumb books, although they are getting a little stale on story line now. I'm going to be mad if I've read all these books, and she ends up with the cop. I'm Team Ranger all the way...LOL. I will be checking out the Bubbles series and the Victoria Laurie mystery series...and I'm betting Kathryn will be checking them out, too. Mysteries are probably my favorite, but it burns me to read through one trying to figure out "who done it" only to have the guilty character introduced toward the end of the book. It makes me feel cheated, and I usually don't read that author again.

As for the jigsaw puzzle...I love figuring out stuff. I guess I have an analytic mind. I like digging in looking for answers. The cement almost got to me, but I couldn't stand to leave it unfinished. I wasn't going to let it beat me. One thing I don't do is work against a clock. I won't do anything timed because it jacks my anxiety level out the top. I have one gear, and it's very close to neutral. I also don't have a competitive bone in my body...unless it's volleyball and a couple of football teams (think cowboys and cheese heads). I usually root for the underdog...don't know what that says about me. emoticon

Mary, I read one V.C. Andrews book. It freaked me out so much I never checked out another one. emoticon I use to always read at night after I went to bed. Now I read while having my morning coffee. I tend to have nightmares when I read or watch anything scary or violent. I have to watch Under the Dome and Sleepy Hollow on demand because I can't watch them at night. Told you all I'm strange...LOL.

Gotta tell you. You guys kept talking about The Biggest Loser. I was bored over the weekend (no book), and I discovered The Biggest Loser on demand, so I thought I would check it out. I started with the first one, and I cried my way through every show and am up to date now. I will finish the season, but I doubt I'll watch a new season. It's too painful for me. Stirs up some bad memories. Glad this season is about the previous athletes. Brings it home that none of us are immune to weight problems. It also reaffirms my belief that it's more emotions than food that causes the problems.

Chris, and Italian supper sounds good! Sorry the friend it was planned for can't make it, but with this weather it could be a blessing in disguise for her. I would hate to drive very far in what they are predicting. Can't wait to hear the menu.

Glad my Canadian friends are having decent weather. My east coast friends need to hunker down until this one passes. Isn't it sad to be stranded in the house until the weather is foremost in the mind? emoticon

If I don't check in later, I'll say now that I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
emoticon

Kathryn, a lazy day of reading sounds great to me! I think I have cooked enough to last us several days. Little ones do act like little ones don't they.

Fran, I agree. Chicken is my absolute favourite picnic food.

Chris, you have been going on adrenaline for a long time. Take some time to rest and recharge. You will have so much fun at your Italian dinner. I love the name "Italian firecracker" and I bet she is!

Marsha FL, it's so nice that you enjoy Spade's company so that George Jr and Karen can get away. When is Judy moving in again? She must be close to having everything moved.

Oh Gloria, you were looking forward to your Thanksgiving dinner so much! What a shame that you got the too large plate and got so tired afterwards.

Marsha TN, you must be so good with jigsaw puzzles! I can't imagine having the patience to put together a puzzle of cement. I also love cherry anything. I didn't have fried chicken until I left home and went to University, but I love it as well.

Yesterday I read a total fluff book in the "Bubbles" series. Bubbles is a beautician and is in the Stephanie Plum line of fine literature. Also I read a Victoria Laurie book whose mystery series features a psychic.

We have a very strong wind here and it looks like rain going to hit us any minute. Very mild though.

Hi Chris. After a long holiday weekend, Tuesday always seems like Monday, lol. I'm over the disappointments of yesterday, nothing fazes me for long, happy to say!

Our weather is similar except we're just getting rain all the rest of this week. Once the cold settles in and the white stuff falls, then we know it is winter!

I hope your Mama feels better today, she really does well for her age Chris.

Enjoy your Italian supper tonight! How nice to be with friends and enjoy a meal together.

Gloria, new day! Let's get that Monday out of the system and move on to a bright day ahead.

Mary, how is that kitchen coming?

Marsha TN. Thank you for sharing about Jason Whitten! What a great Athlete!

Auntie M. Have a nice time with Spade visiting. I know you will feel extra good after getting your hair done.

Shirley, how was your time with the kids? Still there?

Irene, how is your back feeling, this week. Your strength is getting better and that is great!

Fran, I love your Fall decorations. If I was my usual self, I would be right there with you.
I just have a couple things up and don't think I will do what I have done always. emoticon Just not feeling it.

Good morning! emoticon One warm day, in the 80's then we are to get the big storms on Wednesday. A cooler end of the week.

Slept well and feel good this morning. Now if I can keep it going!

Subbing for someone on vacation, today. Ought to be a good work day.

Hoping Mama is feeling better, today, too. She was not having the best of days, yesterday.
I will visit after work.

Tonight I am going to a gathering of friends, for an Italian supper. One of my customers, l call the Italian firecracker. She is full of spunk and loves to entertain.
This was to be a dinner for another friend who recently moved to Cape Charles.
She, unfortunately can't come for she has sciatica acting up and can't make the long drive.
The rest of us are getting together, anyway.

I may need to take a nap, before I go, the way I have been feeling. emoticon

Good morning everyone!

Mary, there was far more to my yesterday than I mentioned in my blog, just too much to talk about! Was not at all the way it had been planned out! 'Nuff said!

Yes Marsha FL, enjoy your week having Spade. I'm glad Spade and Ginger get along so well, kind of like having a cousin visit, lol. That's nice.

Oh Marsha TN, you described my reading habits! I can't get interested in books that totally bore me. History is not high on my list, I'd far rather read a good mystery book that gets me thinking and also takes me away from the real world and all the problems for a while. That's the reason I read!

I didn't go down and read all the posts but will do so. Had a good sleep last night, went to bed early and up after 4 a.m. Bath nurse and cleaning lady come today. I'll putter around. Temps are to go up to 77 degrees today, wow! Then drop tomorrow and rain for a few days. Lots of different weather in a week!

Enjoy your day ladies. Feels like my week just starts today, lol.

Shirley, you "hit the nail on the head" with the comment about rain. I seldom go out, but I like to have the option! They are predicting ugly storms tomorrow and Wednesday.

It was pretty today, and I did go to pharmacy. Library was closed due to Columbus Day, so I didn't get my book yet. Microsoft has a great jigsaw puzzle app for Windows 8. Today I spent all afternoon putting together 200 pieces of an expert level picture of cement with some marks on it. All mostly one color...different shades of gray. I wanted to get that one behind me, but it sure tried my patience.

Chris, trivia...I may have told you before. Jason Whitten is from Elizabethton about 20 miles from me. He's very well thought of in east TN.

One of my favorite childhood memories was when we lived in an old farmhouse until I was 7. As sure as the sun came up on Sunday morning we had fried chicken and cherry cobbler for Sunday dinner. Both still take me back there. Cherry anything is one of my favorites. The last birthday I worked, the lady who worked with me made me cherry pies rather than birthday cake. Her thoughtfulness has never been forgotten.

Gloria, I don't read "heavy" books. I never been a fan of good literature. I appreciate the writing skill, but I don't enjoy reading something I have to go back and read again because I get bored and realize I've not paid attention to what I've read. My major accomplishment was getting through The Odyssey (snooze). One of my genius graduate students taught English literature at a private school in Korea during summer and winter breaks. He used that book, and made me read it on a dare. He helped me through it by actually making it interesting. Another one of my students tricked me into reading The Hobbit on a dare. I don't like books that are full of detail, so he told me I wouldn't enjoy Lord of the Rings. I did end up watching the movies just to keep up with my student assistants...and I loved them. I loved reading about mythology when I took Latin in high school, but got over it (and Latin..ha). I will read a romance, then a thriller, then a paranormal, then a western...just whatever I'm in the mood for. I'm more about reading authors I enjoy than about genres. I don't enjoy reading anything set between 1900 and 1960. Loved history up to WWI then totally lost interest. I keep telling you all I "ain't right" as Susan tells me. emoticon

Hello to all I didn't address tonight. Hope Tuesday is great for everyone. Mary, hope you have dry weather tomorrow so you can get outside.
emoticon

emoticon So tired tonight! I just put a blog up about our supper so I won't repeat it all over again here. We didn't have a reservation for the dining room that had the smorgasbord, my sister forgot to tell them that was what we wanted! And that room was full so they said we could sit in the other dining room and walk to the smorgasbord and carry it to our table. Didn't work for us, too far for me to walk. Rolly insisted on walking to get his so my sister's hubby went with him to carry his plate. I ordered the turkey meal and though the food was good, it wasn't good for me. Disappointment! Neither my sister or her hubby wanted the smorgasbord, they had turkey both Saturday and Sunday! Rolly just wanted to get the cabbage rolls, lol, they are always good! So much about that, I did eat too much and came home tired out! Don't like the feeling.

See you girls tomorrow.

Got Spade until Sat. They fly out in the morning.
Get hair done in the morning, and then Judy is coming by with some more things for upstairs.

Chris. Hope you get some rest tonight, and hope you feel better in the morning.

Hugs and prayers to all.
