We're hoping for a barbecue summer here as well.

Sounds good! We can look them up for the Memorial Day BBQ definitely! And then we can make them the day of while listening to music and probably sneaking shots with my mom if she comes out that weekend too, lol! I'll look some up in a bit. I'm also going to change up the Team for Memorial Day which is the next big-ish holiday.

Ha, my almost-three weeks of AF means nothing obviously, lol!

Maybe an idea can be, since BBQ season is coming upon us! To make at least 2 veggie sides to go with the BBQ'ed meats. I know whenever I go to a BBQ there is always a plethera of meats! lol And maybe bread for a side haha. So maybe doing some grilled veggies, definitely grilled corn, or something like that to at least get one serving of veggies in with the rest!

So it's not technically an idea for 2014 but a motivational idea in general. I've been on Spark for five years now and the other day I decided to peruse my old blog entries. I've been trying to get back to that person that was so bright and bubbly and healthy (for the most part) in my blogs and I feel like it's been eye-opening and has left me nostalgic. If you have an old diary or old blog entries from a happier/motivated time in your life, take a few minutes (hours? days??) to go through them and remember the kind of person you were and how far you've come since then. Or maybe you want to go back to being that person again? Read through your memories and see what it brings out of you!

I get all my ideas from tumblr, lol!

A good savings idea I saw the other day was to save $1 the first week and every week add another dollar to the original amount. So the first week you save a dollar. The second week you set aside two dollars. And the third week three dollars and so on for the entire 52 week span of the year. It gets harder as the weeks go but by the end of the year if you continue with it, you end up with almost $1,400 saved. That's a pretty penny if all you've been doing is setting aside a bit here and there!

This isn't the site I got the idea from but it's still the same general idea so here you go:

Something I did for 2013 (and am continuing in 2014) is the Good Things Jar. I saw this on tumblr and did it for the last year and figured I would share it with the team. Maybe it's something you guys want to try yourselves as well!

The gist is to set aside a jar for the entire year. When something good happens, something that makes you smile, that inspires you, that motivates you and that makes you feel good in general, write it down on a slip of paper, fold it up and put it in the jar. Do this for the entire year and at the end of the 2014, go through all the slips in there to remind yourself of all the good things that happened to you this year. Really simple, doesn't take up much time to write on a slip of paper, but it will show you all the wonderful things that happened in the entire year.

I'm doing it again this year. I already have two slips in and we're only on January 2nd!
