So, Pilates was great.. I just need to take it easy on my hamstrings. Had a visit with the PT, who informed me that there's nothing out of alignment, but I do seem to have strained my hamstrings. Her words were, "respect them". So, they'll take a while to heal, ideally I'd be leaving them be, but that is just not an option at this point! So... taking it easy on the strength training, stretching lightly, and icing when I can.
Did 18 again this weekend. With the cooler weather, I felt like I had energy to spare at the end, I was just REALLY sore.

Yeah, I know it probably goes without saying, but marathon training is HARD! LOL. It goes on for a really long time, and I'm also hitting that "man, running AGAIN?!" place. I was initially pretty hard-core about doing my 8 mile runs mid-week, but now I'm at the point where I do 2 group runs, and normally do 6 miles on those runs. Doesn't seem to be hurting my LSDs any, and it's a nice change.. keeps me motivated!
I've changed up my cross-training a bit, too. I'm now doing a sculpting class that I LOVE, and I'm trying Pilates tonight for the first time.

Great job!!

Mid August I did 19 miles and really struggled. I hit a wall and was like, "What in the world? Am I going to be able to do this..." I am a slow runner and so did some research on nutrition, etc. and prepped better for my next long run. I did 22 miles on Sept. 3rd and felt amazing afterwards. I didn't hit a wall at all, I felt like I was in a good place and could finish the marathon without killing myself :) All in all I think things are going well but I have found myself lacking motivation to do my weekly runs. I don't know why but I just have to make myself get out there b/c the weekly runs are like a life line to keeping up with everything. I'm super thankful for my weekend training group - great support, information and company on those long runs.

46 Days!! :) We CAN do this!! Hope you guys are doing well with training! Thanks for the post and the accountability!!

I felt that way after the 18 miler 2 weeks ago. The actual mileage just blew my mind... and my hips, and my knees! LOL. Just the short ride home made everything tighten up a bit, and I thought "this is a taste of what I will feel like after the marathon.. and it's not as awful as I thought it would be!". Mentally, I'm ready!

I'm at the 18 mile mark. Had a week of vacation, and a week of recovery (from vacation and a cold!), and now I'm back into it. Considering a 16 miler this weekend to ease back into it, followed by a 20 and 22 mile run.
Here's my plan (holy cow, is it really that close?!):
9/3: 16
9/10: 20
9/17: 22
9/24: 16 (stepback)
10/1: 20
10/8: 22.. last week of heavy mileage
10/15: should technically be within the taper period, considering a 1/2 marathon AS training / taper run
10/22: more taper, low easy mileage
10/30: kick booty!
