I haven't had a recent surgery. My circumferential abdominal plasty (sp)was last March. Before I went in for surgery my plan was to change my fitness settings to burn zero calories and checked to see what spark had set as my new calorie settings. Then after my surgery my sister had to force me to eat so I at least hit the bottom or near bottom calorie range. After the antibiotics were finished my appetite came back but I forced myself to plan out what I was going to eat each day trying to leave room for those emergency moments (I would eat a fiber one bar or a protein bar).. I did a lot of sparking. I concentrated on articles regarding maintaining and inspiring stories. It was work!!! I managed to maintain during my recovery period. The no exercise was hard but from all the reading it helped me realize that the spark experts know what they are talking about.
I hope this was helpful. Good luck with staying out of the kitchen.

Anyone had any recent surgeries, and they would like to share their experiences?

I just had a revision from a breast reduction that I had over a year ago. The first surgeon did not do an expert job, and I had scar revisions, and a lot more tissue and far removed from under my arms. I am still healing. At first, I was losing weight, actually was not even hungry. Then the antibiotic prescription was done, and for the past two days, all I can think about is food, and eating. This is very upsetting, since I really thought my brain had changed about eating. I was forcing myself to eat, and eating very healthy. Now I am wandering into the kitchen all day long, grabbing something not healthy, then going back again within an hour. Too bad I can't take antibiotics the rest of my life as it did a good job of ruining my appetite.

I am still healing from the surgery, and cannot do anything strenuous, or pick up anything heavier than 10 pounds for several more weeks. We did finally go out walking yesterday for 50 minutes in 20 below zero windchill, and that felt good. I haven't had any sunlight for several days, all I have been doing is sleeping and resting most of the time since surgery.
