"Conservative Christians - bow down before your Messiah - Ted Cruz"

Oh geez, really?!

I am Christian. I am conservative. I can't stand Cruz. Not all Christians like him; nor do all conservatives care for him.

Texas is a good state with a lot of things going for her! Cost of living is affordable here. We had very little housing recession while many other parts of the US were cratering. Every state has pros and cons. Just as every political party has their share of idiots seeking the limelight.

Antiquated, uneducated assumptions to think otherwise.

ETA:

"He said Republicans had lost elections in 2006, 2008 and 2012 because they weren’t conservative enough."

The Rs have lost because they've behaved and campaigned like idiots.

Hi Shirley...nothing boring about you. As for the "old" part...we are all getting older. I think it's great that you keep up with current events and have an opinion. I might occasionally disagree with you, but I admire your desire to stay involved and informed.

The soap would not be the same without you...truly! emoticon

Hah! Not sure how much excitement I could possibly add to your discussions, unless my frustration with the right's attack on our government, the Ted Cruzification of the GOP and the Rand Paul type ethics and morals of these wingnuts drives me right over the edge ala "Thelma and Louise."

Seriously...when Alice's wonderland looks more rational than our political discourse in this country, something is up-side down.

Hi everyone! I've been missing my soap buddies.... : )

I was always just a tad left of center when I was a registered repub. Voted for democrats and repubs, depending on their position on issues I cared about. Then something ugly turned loose during the 90s. The gop frothing at the mouth over the Clinton's opened my eyes to the hypocrisy. I made my decision after they decided to put a Bush figurehead with his puppetmasters in tow in the White House.

I voted strickly democrat in 2012...a first! That we as women have to fight for our reproductive rights again, not to mention all the other social issues afoot boggles the mind. You'd think it was 1913 instead of 2013(:P)

I'm sticking with the Dems, too. I'm not always happy with some of the things they do (or don't do), but they are aligned with my beliefs about most things.

The only candidates that speak to my determination to end the war on women here in this country happen at this time to be democrats. Terry Mcalliffe was elected last night because of the treatment dished out to the women of VA by the GOP ..their best revenge was at the polls. Until or unless there is a more universal concern for the female 51% of the electorate here in the USA, I will stick to Democrats.

Me too. I was a registered Republican from the first time I registered in 1988 until after the 2010 midterm elections when I could no longer be a part of their BS. I'm now unaffiliated and don't see myself declaring a party any time soon.

That's what I did many years back..the GOP changed so that I didn't even recognize it, and it no longer spoke for me, so I switched to Independent. Was an Independent for years and years..GWB is the one that turned me blue dog democrat! LOL!

My husband has been a life long registered republican. He voted for Obama both times, tho' to be honest, the last time was he was close to voting for Romney...his kids talked him down (TG) He is just shy of 70 and plans on changing his voter registration to Independent.

The GOP are bleeding moderates right now. Ted Cruz and his ilk are the cause of the hemmorage.

Cruz as shill from the article.....

"He said Republicans had lost elections in 2006, 2008 and 2012 because they weren’t conservative enough."

REALLY?????

It's pretty hilarious that the conservative right thinks of Cruz in hallowed light as a right wing Jesus, but they scorned Obama supporters for supposedly assuming Obama "walked on water".

Oh Lordy....do they never learn from past mistakes????

I'm paranoid about the whole far, far right.

I just realized my Texas voting card has my maiden name with my ex'es last name initial, but all my other ID has my middle name initial. Did I ever even get divorce papers? Have to dig in my files to be able to vote in Texas. Clever GOP to keep women who primarily voted for Obama from voting.

Delusions of grandeur much? The A$$hat just loves playing to the gallery. I laughed until my stomach hurt when I read that earlier..then remembered that Hitler started small and converted many. Wasn't so funny then. With a wife that works for Goldman Sachs, and the Koch bros pulling strings, this guy has potential for an impressive war chest..and specializes in telling the ignorant who fancy themselves unappreciated that they're the cream of the crop..sounds familiar? I think he's a buffoon and he disgusts me..but that doesn't mean he doesn't bear watching.

Conservative Christians - bow down before your Messiah - Ted Cruz
www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/10/28/gop-e
ve
nt-hails-superhero-ted-cruz-as-rightR>-wing-jesus/

Yes, it's true. The people who denigrate anyone who voted for Obama as believing him to be their true lord and savior has found one of their own.

"Cruz (R-TX) was hailed as someone willing to be “crucified for their belief system” by conservative activist Steve Scheffler, speaking at the Iowa Events Center on October 25.

According to Buzzfeed reporter McKay Coppins, the crowd responded positively to the comparison, with some saying “amen” in response."

Can I get an Amen, Bothers and Sisters!

Not enough? Well, he's also Superman! "“Every time one of these guys attacks him, it’s good for him,” said one Iowa Republican operative. “He’s like a superhero. The more bullets that get shot at him, the bigger and stronger he gets.”"
