I never meant that the US got free anything. When I said “let’s get their oil” I meant, let’s remove a leader that is not sympathetic to the US and put somebody that we’ll dance to our music. Clearer now?

And you are right Penny, this issue will be forever opened, since the responsible people will never admit any of it.

The bottom line, as I see it, is that invading Iraq was a mistake and there is (neither there will ever be) no justification for it.

The problem with voting in only people who desire peace in their hearts is that how does anyone know what any politician desires in their heart.

There is rarely any justification for war.

There are only people again illustrating the definition of insanity, century after century, doing the same ol' hating and expecting a different result.

The question is moot.

There is no justification for this war. None. Over 4000 of our men and women lost their loves in a war that never should have happened.

Pops..."Americans updated and repaired the pipelines in Iraq and got them back in business. We didn't get any "free" or "discounted" oil from them - and we still don't."

Perhaps it is you who should do some additional research. The American taxpayer is still paying for this war while the companies that profited from it and in many cases, are still profiting, did so on the backs of our military. The oil itself was not the issue. It was the billions of $$$ made in securing it in the name of democracy.

What is amazing to me is how many ties these companies/pirates had to the Bush administration.

I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that prior to the invasion their oil was going solely to Europe and Asia. If I remember my research from back then correctly, none was coming here .Price isn't always the only goal ..sometimes it's just the most obvious.

I agree that what has been presented has every right to be considered a failure of the Bush Presidency.

However, Willam, you'll need to go and do some additional research.

Americans updated and repaired the pipelines in Iraq and got them back in business. We didn't get any "free" or "discounted" oil from them - and we still don't.

This will be debated till forever and those responsible for this total lack of response to the threats presented, will never admit the failure. It was a failure and the price was paid by innocents.

One doesn't. It was inept and biased. Bush wanted to invade Iraq no matter what, and he saw what he wanted in the reports.

Believing in the "weapons of mass destruction" was a question of convenience, since the American People would not go for "let's get their oil".

How do I do it? I am not responsible for any war.The president and congress in charge at the time it happened are responsible.I do understand the desire for vengance though. If I'd had a loved one killed on 9-11 I would have wanted someone to pay.People are fearful.I did fear further attacks at the time. The only thing the common man/woman can really do is vote for men/women who desire peace too. emoticon

...ignoring your own intelligence concerning the very real prospect(and ultimately the carrying out) of a terrorist attack on the United States.

...giving full credence to a questionable source's "intel" that Sadam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. Resulting in a war that killed over 4000 American troops, wounding of 10 x more and the deaths of over 100k Iraqi citizens.
