If I have decaf tea with skim milk in the evening, it keeps me from getting hungry, even though we eat dinner early and I tend to be late to bed. (DH has to get up very early.)

Planning ahead and taking my lunch to work keeps me away from the junk machine and makes it more likely to get fruits & veggies added to my daily consumption.

I have learned that eating smaller amounts more frequently helps keep your appetite down and it actually triggered weight loss in me!

I have learned over the last 4 years that it is ok if I put my own needs first sometimes. If I don't take care of Me I will not be around to take care of anyone else.

I've been EXTRA EXTRA hungry due to steroid therapy, so I made cabbage soup. Remember the old cabbage soup that was all veggies and broth?

I am still learning that I am perfect in all of my imperfections! I am giving my calorie limit my best effort each day, one day at a time.

I exercise in the pool most days a week and I can see for the most part that I really like it in the water. Getting ready and dressing afterwards is not the most fun but I do feel so much better so I have learned for at least now this is the exercise for me, it makes me feel so good afterward.

Today I have gone over my calorie count and I am not angry or upset at myself I am starting to realize that the long journey is what counts and tomorrow is really another new start and I can just keep trying every day and I will succeed and I will have many starts with uphills and downhills and it is really OK emoticon

Everything in moderation. I have also learned to eat more fruits and vegetables.i have also learned to take one day at a time and not get down on myself if I mess. I just need to get back on track and move forward

I have learned that 95% of my weight loss and healthy eating life style hinges on my emotional health as well as determination.

IF I am having a particularly low moment that stretches out for a week or more, then my main goal is to maintain during the down time. Then pick up the fork (per say) and battle on!

What have you learned about living a new lifestyle? What works for you and what doesn't? Keep in mind, everyone is different.
What I have learned is that I have to be on this lifestyle change for the rest of my life,j which is not a death sentence because I really like eating this way.
I have also learned that I need to exercise at least five days a week and that is ok because we have a really nice fitness center and the people there are like friends now so it is not a hardship.
I also have learned that I just cannot buy or reach for any kind of junk food because that is something I would have to plan for in my tracker, and I just cannot just pour myself a drink of alcohol because again that is something I have to plan for.
We do not cook elaborately anymore so that makes it easier and we are too old to have a whole crew of kids at home so that really makes it easy

Currently I am working on getting 5 hours sleep. I 98% of the time sleep about 2-3 hours a night with myabe one hour nap time if that. i am not super busy my mind just never shuts off so need to go to bed now and get it a shot. Goon night friends.

If I don't track my food, I immediately fall about 20 grams a day short of my protein goal and eat too many carbs and fat. Tracking keeps me eating right.

That and trying to eat at least 5 servings of freggies/day.

I have learned they will be up and downs through this battle.
