Your welcome SWEETLILBLUEYES! :-)
I'm glad my words were of some help! :-) This approach really makes me feel like there's nothing standing between me and my goal!! Mostly ppl stop because they don't see results soon enough. I only feel like doing more and more for my health and fitness and weight loss.
Wish I'd had this approach sooner! Its taken me a decade to figure it out.
Have a nice day!! :-)

Hi Lilhobbit! Thanks for the advice. I need to know that every action has it's benefits and consequences. Your words help remind me that I just need to continue what I am doing.
Thanks!

JUNIORSSISTER ..... I'm glad my suggestion helped in some little way emoticon Beth is the one that taught me to look at where I have been and what I have accomplished instead of how far I still need to climb! emoticon emoticon

I deal with it by looking at the road behind me... Always look at how far you've come, not how far you have to go.

Celebrate EVERY success.

Celebrate your hard work. The weight loss is the icing. The stuff you should be rewarding is eating right and moving and not giving up. Start a jar and pay yourself daily for those things.

Life is happening now, not 10 pounds from now.

230 lbs lost without surgery, crazy diets, diet products, or extreme exercise- so have hope!

Also, just an after thought, but a relevant one, A SLOWER WEIGHT LOSS IS GENERALLY A SURER WEIGHT LOSS. ONE HAS WAY FEWER CHANCES OF IT BOUNCING BACK!!

What I've made myself focus on this time is not my weight loss. I'm purely and only targetting building and healthy lifestyle change. I focus on making sure I exercise 40 mins a day 5 tines a week, make sure I rest 2 days a week, make sure I eat healthier always, make sure I get 20 mins of sunshine for vitamin D, make sure I do 20 mins of wearing my accupressure slippers! :-)

This helps me stay on track coz I'm not bothered so much with the scale! I'm more focussed on executing/ ticking off the items on my daily list of activities! My focus is merely to be consistent! And we all know that if we just stay consistent, we can bust any plateau, lose any ammount of weight, conquer your life and the world around u!! :-)

PS: Lauri/POOH97015!! I love your sign off quote about remembering that we are stronger, smarter more loved etc. than we know! :-) Beautiful words!! :-)

Hi Juniorssister~
I don't know how much I can add to what's already been written, but I agree with the others that you need to focus on how far you have come and just worry about the day to day and not focus on the big picture. I have lost 152 pounds and still have about 80 pounds to go. It has taken me a year and a half, but it has been well worth the time and effort that it has taken. I am just trying to concentrate on my week to week weight loss through Weight Watchers and I think that any weight loss is a good weight loss, even if it is less than a pound. All of it goes towards the greater good. You said you were a visual person so making a vision board will be a big help towards your goals. I wish you luck and I hope you have a lot of luck towards reaching your goals. Give yourself time and you will get there!!

Hugs, Lauri

Always remember you are braver than you believe,
stronger than you seem,
smarter than you think,
and loved more than you know!

Great relevant post JUNIORSSISTER!

In my humble opinion its very important to only focus on the next step, the one that is right in front of you! Even an inch worm can climb a tall tree by focussing on one step at a time. It doesn't look up to see how far the top of the tree is. It just keeps moving, one step at a time.

You have reached half point which is a huge achievement!! :-) That's lovely! U must keep at it and take one step at a time, one day at a time, one pound at a time!

You can do this, dear! :-)

Thank you so much for all the support. I'm really pleased with all my progress. Truthfully I'm not struggling with my food. I guess I just want it to happen faster then what it is. I love the idea of writing my accomplishments down and listing with what I need to do. I'm a very visual person and that will be helpful. I use the goal setting board which I love when I log on. I think taking those goals and having more visual things off line will help.

That is the next step. Creating some positive visual cues to post around the house. Thanks for all of support.

emoticon on your success, that is awesome. I hear you loud and clear and completely know where you are coming from. It took me 23 months to lose 122 pounds and I named my journey Blood, Sweat and Tears.

Every once in awhile,(3 or 4 months) I would bank calories for a week and go out for a pizza. That is my weakness. It had to be Country Kitchen because if I was going to do it, I was going to enjoy it. It is a local pizza shop that has pizza out of this world, I had the pizza, the mozzarella bread, the works. Once I even had a Mt. Dew, but that was toooooo sweet so after that one time had water with my Mio. Believe it or not that did satisfy me and I was good for a long time.

If a birthday came up or special occasion, I had a couple bites of someone else's cake, or a sliver of my own. It is a lifestyle change, you can't deprive yourself.

When I really got discouraged or craved, I came to SP and posted, just like you did. All my team mates and friends rallied behind me and supported me. Do you really want to throw away all the hard work you have done? Think about how much better you feel, how proud you are of yourself and we are of you. Keep going, it is so worth it.

I want to emoticon for posting this. I have maintained my weight for 17 months. and this past month have really been eating junky. By "talking" to you, I have really talked to myself. No more pies, cakes, or ice cream. I have gained 5 pounds, I will lose it and back to exercising. No one is worth my health. emoticon

I love SparkPeople

JUNIORSSISTER .... Try listing all your accomplishments down on paper and then congratulate yourself for what you HAVE accomplished and then list what you still need to get done and place them together on the wall where you can see hem. Then search helpful topics here on Spark People and get encouraged again......

Carol .... I know how you feel about regaining the weight. I finished a 24 day challenge earlier this year and regained it all plus a few more. Now I am struggling to get the hand back up to try again emoticon

I am very upset with myself for re-gaining 12 or more lbs. after keeping them off for 5 years. Now I just can't seem to get in that losing mode again, but I never give up. So I will try once again!!!

You are doing so well and off your insulin. That is marvelous. I guess I look at this as a lifestyle change and I just take it a day and a lb at a time. It is something I know I have to do for the rest of my life and I have accepted that. Some days are better than others and holidays are always hard for me because I like deserts. But, we get through them and for the most part I am pretty good. I wish you success.

To Start with the positive I've been really happy with my success this year. For all of the goals I have hit, As of April I am off all of my Insulin, I've lost 29 pounds this year, 48 total. But with all of that success, I'm still only half through. With all of this work, it's exhausting to think I'm just at the half way point. But at the same time I'm glad to be at the half point.

How do you deal with still having so much road ahead?
