emoticon Yes you can do it.

I found that to get the straightening of the knee, that was my hardest thing to do. The degree of bend has not been too hard to accomplish. Stay positive and you can do it.

I had my Post surgery appointment. lol He showed me the pictures of what was wrong in my knee. The first picture showed a huge piece of cartilage just floating in the knee capsule between the Femur and the Tibial Plateau. I looked at him and said "That didn't show up on the MRI". He just looked at me and laughed and said "No it didn't"! Then he showed the degrading of the cartilage on my Patella. Eventually I'll need a Knee replacement but not for a while. He also showed me the other two tears as well. Then he showed me the after pictures and how pretty it looked after he worked on it.

It feels so much better when I walk and I start PT next week mostly to build up the muscles as well as to help with the bending and straightening of it. I just need a couple more degrees for the straightening and I can get it to 90 degrees but it really should go much farther than that. It will happen. I just need to do the PT.

Thank you all for your encouraging words and all the prayers. I truly appreciate it. On the 23rd I'll have my back surgery date hopefully. Just 6 more pounds. I can do it!

Patty glad you didn't have to have a knee replacement. My Mom had many surgeries but said none were as painful as the knee replacement. Hope you are healing well and able to do what you need to do.

You are not a chicken! I always tell people don't just go have surgery. Wait until you are ready to take a knife to it yourself to fix it. Then go have surgery.

Whereas mine was just arthroscopy to fix my meniscus I was so ready to do it myself. Every step I had the red hot jab of a knife feel in it. So it was time. Its been about 30 years since the last one so I can't complain.

You'll know when it is time.

Patty that is great!! Now do everything that they tell you. The rehab will probably be rough but if you do as they say faithfully you will be pain free in no time. Half the battle is done. emoticon

Thank you all so much. It was not a knee replacement it was taking care of tears in my meniscus. Since my ligaments don't hold my body together in my knees my meniscus just gets chewed up until it catches, locks up and is extremely painful. Then we have to go in and do what I call 'roter rooter. It's very annoying at best but it has to be done so I can walk again.

Unfortunately as I lose weight it happens more and more. I know that doesn't make sense but that's how it is. I'm going to ask my Dr if there is a knee brace that I can wear to help prevent this from happening again. We'll see what he says.

Glad your surgery went well. Hubby needs one hip replacement and both knees and is waiting for the word.

Glad it went well. I hope it heals quickly, you are probably anxious to get up and move around. I know I was when I had surgery on mine.

I am so sorry Everyone!

I just remembered that I needed to post here. The knee surgery went well, I am home and on pain meds and resting well. As far as I know everything went well. I'll find out more on my followup appointment.

Thank you all for your prayers.
