Well I've made it to 196 only 6 more pounds. Then I'll be at 190! Then 10 more pounds and my surgery can be scheduled! Now if only my knee will behave it would make it much easier. It's easier for me to think of 10 pounds at a time and to celebrate every 2 pounds or so.

I really appreciate all the prayers. I can so use them. It's nice to know I have friends out there thinking about me.

Thank you all.

Patty

Patty, this sounds difficult, but you will rise to the occasion!! I'll keep you in my prayers. I agree with the rotational diet thing. It did help me a while back. Just do what you can. emoticon

All my good wishes are on their way to you. You have done so very much with your limited ability to move. Just keep it up and you will soon have your needed surgery.

Thank you so much for all the good wishes and prayers. Sometime it just helps to get it out there and remember that there are other people who are worse off than me. Also there are people who are rooting and praying for me as well.

I've decided to take it in 10 pound increments since I don't get freaked out at that amount. emoticon

Then the second thing I'm doing is really restricting my calories and doing the rotational calories again so my body doesn't go into starvation mode. I'm taking my vitamins and my Dr prescribed amount of Omega's and doing as much as I can physically. I just hope it will be enough to do it.

Dr Yanni has challenged me and I can't backdown from a challenge. No matter how hard. emoticon He originally was pushing the Lap Band because he truly didn't believe I could or would lose the weight on my own. But as he has said I've beat the Lap Band on what I could have lost in this amount of time anyways. Also I'm no longer a candidate for it since I don't have that much more to go. emoticon

I guess it's just time now and doing it. This is the part I hate! I want it to go faster! emoticon I know it won't but I really want to be able to get my back fixed faster then the knee.

After the shot Dr Gluzman gave me it is not nearly as painful but I do still feel the damage in there and the fluid gushing around once in a while. So I'll have to get that fixed as well.

I wonder if they'll do it all at the same time? Hmm. I'll have to ask. emoticon I doubt it though since Dr Yanni is very protective about his surgery room. It never hurts to ask though.

Well thank you all again for responding so positively and all the prayers. It really means a lot to me. I'll keep you posted and I do show my weight loss on my Spark Page.

Patty emoticon

Yikes, you have it very rough. No grand ideas here but best wishes and healing prayers coming your way.

I am so sorry for your pain. The frustration of chronic pain is awful. It tires me out and give me depressive moods.

I emoticon for your relief soon.
It looks like you are on the right track to weight loss. I don't know any way to do it faster without hurting yourself. You are a tough lady. I admire that. Sorry you have to deal with this. emoticon

Wow!
That's rough. I'll stop complaining about my back ache now.
I dropped 11 pounds in under 3 weeks doing the Eat to Live program.
(I've been blogging about it.)
There's a team forum for it. (at least one)

I will accept all of the prayers people wish to do. Thank you so much. I'm just running from my fear I guess. I just need to fix it in my mind that I will succeed. It's just hard to do right now because of my difficulty walking. ::sigh::

What I fear, I create. I guess I'm just going to have to do some imagery work and fix in my minds eye me succeeding and work on allowing myself to succeed.

Prayers always work though.

Well Morton's Salt was never so right as now. I went to my Pain Management Dr today because of my knee. I really don't know what I did but it is swollen inside and is swollen outside as well. It is hot and extremely painful. At times I'm not sure which hurts me more my back or my knee! emoticon

Now of course I don't stop what I'm doing because I'm used to pain but this was really bad. So I ended up accepting a shot with Lidocaine and Steroids in it. I have to admit I've never had a Pain Management Doc before but I am in emoticon with this one! He is really good with those needles and seems to get it into just the right spot! So whereas it really doesn't hurt as bad anymore it still grinds, pops, catches and is swollen. I'm not sure how much walking I'll be able to do for the next week or so.

He and I knew right away that I really need surgery but we agreed that my back takes first place. After that is done then I can deal with the knee. One thing at a time. That's why I accepted the shot. I hate shots. I hate taking pain meds at all but I have to for now.

Now my Neurosurgeon appt was this last Tuesday. He is ecstatic about all the weight I've lost so far! emoticon So after the next 20 pounds he'll schedule my surgery. He would like it done in the next 6 weeks! I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to do it with my knee like it is now but I'm going to try anyways! I've really pulled in the reins on the calories and I make sure that I have enough of the nutrients I need. I'm just hoping that is enough. If not I'll have to figure something else out.

This is what I've been doing and can do:

Bands, Some chair exercises, minimal walking, PT, Isometrics.

This is what I've been forbidden to do:

Lift over 8 pounds, Bend (at all), Twist (for any reason), Long walking, swimming, anything that flairs up my back at all for any reason!

I've been able to get away with walking minimally in the Mall because it is a flat and even surface and has benches I can sit on if I need to. Gardening with the help of my daughter and husband. I usually direct. Other than that not much else.

My Neurosurgeon is extremely concerned about me and keeps stressing to me that if ANYTHING gets worse I am to call him immediately. He stresses to me on every appointment that the next step could be my last even with my walker. My spinal cord is taking a beating because there are three levels that has no spinal fluid around it for cushioning so it continuously rubs as I move. Also those three levels have slipped so far forward and are bone on bone. I not only have pain but I do have symptoms directly related to my spinal cord being rubbed. I personally work hard at not letting it stop me from doing whatever I want but I really am at the point that I need to start taking my back into account when I do things.

So if anyone else has any other ideas on how to take the next 20 pounds off quickly? Please let me know. emoticon
