Made a NutriBlast tonight with romaine, thawed mixed berries, banana, milled almonds, and a superfood powder made of cacao, maca, chia, and borax...No I'm kidding about the borax...but I can't remember the 4th ingredient! The NutriBullet company sells it. We only missed one night of our NutriBlasts this week...started Monday. Discovered that an apple without a banana is super blah!

Carol, I fix my brown rice the same way you describe the way you fix your pasta. It is delicious!
Bigred, I think I'm going to do the same thing you are doing. I'm going to give up my ice tea. I believe I'm using too much of the dietetic sugar packs during the day. Water with a little lemon added should keep me pretty satisfied.

Making yet another start with Sparks people. I seem to go a few weeks and then quit for 2-3 weeks. What a merry-go-round! At least I am still down 5 lbs from the top weight.
Will work on drinking enough water. At least 5 glasses a day.

all day was healthy choices! instead of rewarding myself for a good meeting with a dozen cookies, I had only 1! no Kaiser roll, just 2 slices of turkey with 1 slice lowfat cheese rolled up with cucumber and pepper in middle. lots of fruit salad! worked hard today and feel great! while the weight is stuck on a plateau, the NSVs are piling up - this will be the last time I will be able to wear my favorite pantsuit - the pants are just too big. carried my full-size keyboard across the building with no pain, made 20 trips across the building and no knee stiffness!

Carol~ I found it at my local grocery store in the produce section. In our store they have a display of the stuff made with tofu, or veggie based etc. It was awesome, I figured it was worth a try. 1 bag says 2 servings, but I ate them both...I'm a big pasta lover and this really did seem like I was having pasta.

Per serving and each bag is 2 servings...zero fat, 4g carb, and 1 g protein and 3 grams of fiber.

Sandy, tell me more about this pasta substitute!!!
Where do you buy it, how many calories, etc?
DH and I both enjoy sauteed red peppers, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, garlic, zucchini and summer squash with lots of herbs and put it over pasta. We skip the red sauce much of the time. It is so high in sodium, too.

This is going to be a life saver for this pasta loving girl. I added sauteed gr. pepper, onion and mushrooms with some ragu sauce...all for under 200 calories and 5 grams of protein, and 26 carbs...and I ate the whole package....Yes, it tastes like pasta.

My healthy choice today was to steam up a whole Orange Cauliflower, a Purple Cauliflower, Carrots and Spinach. Then to make some Tri-colored couscous and Marinate/pan cook Tofu with some Coconut Oil for dinner. Extremely low cal and so full of flavor. Yummy!

my healthy choice today was actually 2 things: to rest (worked 12 hours yesterday) and to not eat after 10. I usually eat a late breakfast, then an early dinner and go to work at 4, but I was off today and ate a big breakfast (well, brunch really) at noon then didn't get dinner until 7, so even though I had 200 calories left, all the rest of the categories were done, so I left it alone. had my last glass of water and read stuff on the spark site and am calling it a night.

Healthy day of eating, even at Panera Bread. Took a banana with me and bought a fruit cup, put skim milk in my coffee. I was traveling, so since I'd not had any protein at breakfast, I stopped at a grocery and bought some greek yogurt. Healthy lunch, and for the potluck tonight I avoided all the desserts. That was hard, as they were all my favorites and looked so good, but now I'm glad I did it.

My Healthy Choice was to actually allow myself to rest and not push. I really don't do that and I'm supposed to! I just can't seem to do this very often. I'm always up and moving and pushing myself harder and harder. My back feels so much better though for it. Tomorrow's another day and I'll push myself then.

I'm going to try and have one of these days a week.

my healthy choice was to run up and down 24 flights of stairs ( not my actual choice, but needed at work today). so after 10, I decided to make a game of it and see how many I could do and there you go!

My healthy choice was during a family trip to a Chinese Buffet, I filled my plate with green beans, mushrooms, onions and pepper strips, bits of chicken, fish - no rice, noodles, egg rolls or dumplings...did not eat with abandon, and then have ice cream and donuts ....I was surprised I could do it. Usually I go way over calorie count there. emoticon

I love reading everyone's post on this thread! And I think it will encourage me to think about doing one healthy thing everyday!

And even though my entry might not seem very healthy..to me it was a really big.

If it's to be, It's up to ME!

A very good and timely subject!!! And I like reading everyone's comments as I find them encouraging.
After getting my 500 Fitness minutes in less than a week into April, I decided to take today off, and can you believe it made me feel a little guilty???
Back on track tomorrow with both my food plan and exercise even though I didn't stray far today.
My healthiest choice for today was an 8 oz. serving of Low Sodium V8 juice which happens to count as 2 veggies!!!

We drove home from our visit with family today...after getting off the ferry, DH stopped for a coffee at McD's...and usually while in the drive thru' I weaken and order something. Today I was prepared, I grabbed a banana and some orange juice from my DD's fridge before we left.

My healthy choice today was instead of taking the day off for exercise I walked to and from church about 2.59 miles round trip.

Decided last night to get us the NutriBullet and get more nutrients out of our fruits and veggies. I have a friend that uses it and she just loves it. Easy to use, easy to clean up. Hubby will help with prep. I have lots to learn...never cut a pineapple before! Pineapple is really important for reducing inflammation, and God knows I have lots of that!

Like Bigskycherie, I am also going to workout in the morning, first thing. My hip is much better, and I am thinking it is because I am exercising. Maybe!
I am also going to drink at least 1 glass of water before I eat a meal or snack and eat more slowly. If I wait till I'm really hungry sometimes, then I tend to eat too fast and over eat, causing me to feel way too full.

I think life is not so much about waiting for the storms to be over, as much as it is, learning how to dance in the rain.

My healthy choice is to do 20 minutes of exercise first thing each morning before I have a chance to wake up and balk at it. When I started on SP, I had to struggle to do 5 minutes, sometimes I could only do 2 or 3 and many days I skipped it entirely. But I made a commitment to do 5 a day. Then I increased to 10 a day, then 15 and now 20. Some days I might feel extra energy and do 5 or 10 minutes more. But I CHOOSE to do 20 minutes a day before I can even function to choose not to. Ten miinutes of my exercise is done while I'm still in bed; the rest while I'm waiting for my computer to warm up (no, it doesn't take 10 min. to warm up--but I have decided to exercise for 10 minutes before hitting my keyboard).

After a hard workout yesterday , I was telling myself I could just do some yard work and call it good today. Then my DH ( he is a pusher sometimes that is good and sometimes bad ) said I think you could ride your bike a little.

I am training to ride 50 miles in a race in August , I need to be on my bike to be able to reach the goal I have set. So after the yard , I did get on my bike and rode 5 1/2 miles in 35 min. That is a choice I need to make so I CAN obtain my goal in August.

I chose raw veggies with a low-fat dip for my snacks today and made it a streak to eat veggies and/or fruit for my snacks.
