Hold tight, your results will soon be in. I think it is part of the world and what we have become use to, having answers right away and making action plans etc. Sitting and doing nothing goes against our nature!

As you can see from all the postings that you have received that a lot of females are faced with these issues. (Me too, polyps and cysts, resulted in a hysterectomy.) We are the ones to shoulder these things because I swear men could not handle all that we have to go through!!!! LOL

Let us know how you are doing. Sending good and healthy thoughts your way!

Watching salt intake also trying not to buy foods that have high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients I put it on the Do Not Buy List as it is too processed.

One thing to remember is that if it was something to be worried about your Dr would have had you admitted to the hospital. If your Dr is not upset or panicking you shouldn't either! That is the way our healthcare works in the USA. So good luck on the test results. Lavender essential oil will help with the worry as well as working out. What ever that looks like for you. Keep us posted so we can support you. Also let us know how we can support you.

Been there too. Went in for a gall bladder removal and during the op surgeon thought he saw a large ovarian cyst. So next day I had further blood tests which they wouldn't tell me what they were for and an ultrasound scan. Turned out they were looking for ovarian cancer. Had to have an exploratory laparoscopic op and sign to say they could do a full hysterectomy if necessary but it turned out that I had a grapefruit sized fibroid on a stalk on the outside of my uterus which they left alone as it was doing no harm.

Also had the very heavy bleeds someone mentioned which lasted for several weeks sometimes - due to many fibroids on my uterus lining. Had tablets to reduce the blood loss which meant I could still get to work. Now I am 54 and that is all in the past thank goodness.

Sometimes it is just no fun being a woman!! As others have said - keep busy. Routine is always comforting and gets us through the worst of days. Will be thinking of you x

How hard it is to wait. I to had a pelvic mass, ovarian cysts and all turned out well. I know the worries you have. Try to take care of YOU right now and worry when it's founded. I'm not being harsh just know how hard it is to wait wait, though after I had test done my doc was quick to let me know all is well.

Thank you to everyone who has responded. Your kindness, support and prayers are truly appreciated. It's going to be a long two weeks, but I'm determined not to let myself become consumed by something I have no control over. Once I have more information, I will post an update. My sincere thanks to all of you.

I agree with LRB444's post. I'd call the doc's office and let them know how worried you are and that the waiting has you very concerned. It's possible a 2 week wait is normal for the type of testing you had done and the doc may not realize that being told to wait so long is stressful.
Good luck, hope everything comes out OK.

I had a routine Pap smear, when I was in my 30's and 2 days later a person from the lab called me at work and said I had cancer! To say the least I was struck dumb after which I started crying uncontrolably. Thank God my boss was really understanding. although very young. The doctors office called me to schedule a biopst in 2 days and when I told them what the lab tech had said they were really mad. To say the least they never used that lab again. Anyway, here I am almost 70 and still going strong. The only thing wrong with me was the birth control pills. I understand the fear you are feeling but the only thing you can do is keep busy and think positive thoughts. These things are really pretty normal, my daughter also had 2 weeks to wait for her biopsy results. It really goes by fast. Pray when you start to feel paniced and relax in a nice hot bath. My prayers ar with you and yours. Good luck on your results. emoticon

Scary for you and having to wait two weeks stinks big time. I had cystic ovaries as well as a whopping big uterine fibroid and had to have a total hysterectomy at age 48. Amazing how much better I felt but it was major punch in the psyche sitting there in the doctor's office for a "consultation." I've seldom been more terrified in my life. Big hug!

If I were you, I would call the dr's office and tell them that you are freaking out and that you need to know what is going on and what they already know. You have the right to that information and if your doctor knows it is upsetting you, then I'm sure she will tell you what she already knows.

I'm sure there is no need to panic, but the longer you wait the harder it's going to get.

I have had the same thing. I also had the very heavy bleeding. After exhausting all other options I had a complete hysterectomy. that was 6 years ago. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know waiting is hard. But with so many different internet sites and not knowing which is the one to believe. I would urge you to take caution in believing all you read on it!

Good Morning Barb.....

First things first, Take a deep breath and try to relax.

I have had ovarian cysts since I was in my early 30's..... The doctor explained that over 90% of women suffer from the pesky critters and that almost all of them are non cancerous. My daughter who is now 29 had one on her ovary the size of a grapefruit that started leaking and made a huge mess of itself. Lots of cleaning and removal but she is okie dokie on the cyst issues now. She has endometriosis and will be dealing with that very soon but one issue is not connected to the other.
I am now 51 and about 4 years ago I started hemorrhaging on a monthly basis.... all my tests were fine and even my sonograms and MRI's came back normal. The doctor tried all the new procedures from oil cleanings, steam cleanings, and DNC's. Nothing seemed to help and the bleeding was now nonstop. I couldn't even remove my (3) over night pads to do an exam in the doctor’s office without flooding the floor (so embarrassing!)
They went ahead and did what was supposed to be a partial hysterectomy to stop the loss of blood. When they removed the uterus it was HUGE! The whole upper portion was completely full of polyps..... the doctor was astonished. Nothing ever showed on the tests and there’s no telling how long I would have suffered if they hadn't completed the now complete hysterectomy. They took all kinds of samples from every area of the uterus and sent them off to the lab. That was a very terrifying and LONG wait to see if the cells were cancerous. They were NOT thank the good Lord! emoticon

I guess my point sweet lady is that we are never ready for the issues that hit us full force in our lives but there really isn't a reason to make yourself sicker by anguishing over the wait. It won't help and you can't change where it's all headed. Good or bad the results will come and the doctors will have a plan. Nothing will keep you from worrying but making yourself sick won’t help at all. Doctors always take on the (serious face) when they are dealing with the unknown....

I will add you to my prayer today and would like for you to keep me posted if you would. emoticon …….

Hey Barb, so sorry to hear about your current situation. I have had ovarian cysts before. In fact, I have problems with a "reoccuring" cyst. I was also recently diagnosed with a polyp as well and will have a procedure done next week to biopsy for uterine cancer. So, as you can see I am no stranger to female problems. I would't get too concerned just yet. It sounds like your doctor is being thorough, and that's a good thing! It has become my mantra to not borrow trouble, until you have all the facts. Two weeks is a very long time when you are waiting, but I believe if he really saw something for concern, he would have acted faster. For example, my cousin's wife went in for a routine screening and was immediately sent for a sonogram and found herself in surgery two days later. I hope everything goes well for you and I will definitely be praying for you! Good luck and try not to worry! emoticon

Two weeks can feel like a long time, so you need to take care of yourself and think positive. Be careful with the Internet. A lot of misinformation. That happened to a girlfriend of mine with the cyst, etc. Her thyroid was out of wack and she is totally fine. I am praying for you!

To start let me warn my gentleman sparkers, this topic may not be for you.
That being said, some of my female sparkers may relate and I'd love any feedback you might have.

In February, I had my annual visit with the OB/Gyn. Nothing unusual was going on, but I did mention that my cycle had been a bit wacky for the last couple of months. Considering I'm 50 years old I thought it was reasonable to assume it was the start of menopause. The doctor said there can be many factors as to way my periods were irregular and just to rule out any other problems she wanted to do a sonogram. So yesterday I had the sono and discovered that I have an ovarian cyst and two polyps. A biopsy was taken and I was sent for additional blood work. The doctor wouldn't offer any additional information but told me we would go over everything in about two weeks when the test results would be in and we'd talk about our next course of action, What the hell.... I'm left waiting two weeks till I find out what's going on.
I found out the blood work was a screening for ovarian cancer. Geezz... went in thinking I'm starting my changes and now I could be faced with cancer. Of course the internet is full of a lot of information and in this case a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I don't want to rush to the worse case scenario, but it's not like the doctor told me not to worry, either. So I'm scared, nervous and trying not to panic.
