I joined the challenge I did the 10 min kickboxing video. I added it to my fitness tracker but I don't know where I'm suppose to post that I did it so I can possibly get that special trophy.

The videos are all on YouTube so feel free to check them out there.

The video can be added from your fitness tracker, you can either scroll down below the video and click on the button that says add to my fitness tracker, or go to your fitness tracker click on add cardio button, type in sparkpeople and hit search. All the sp videos will come up and you can click on the one that you did and enter the minutes and hit save.

How do I add my 10 minute exercise video to my fitness tracker? It seems I've been working on this all dang day! Too much time on the computer trying to figure this out. My fingers don't need the exercise, my body does!

I had a horrible time with the video buffering. It took me 30 minutes to do the 10 kickboxing workout. I did continue to do all the moves even while the buffering was occurring. I don't know if it is the SparkPeople site. After I was done I went to look at the video on YouTube and had no trouble at all viewing the video. I think this is what I will have to do everyday.

SLEEPYJEEN Yes you are correct that as long as you are logging your minutes on your fitness tracker, then you are eligible for the prizes. Great job working out! I do not believe the videos are for sale. The only one I have bought is Coach Nicoles latest DVD and the routines are not the same. If you have other DVDs that are strength exercises oriented, you can substitute if you need to.

Oh I know this must be a repeated question and I apologize for that but just so I understand. I started today and I did 30 minutes of cycling, 20 minutes of attempted kickboxing from the first video and 30 minutes on the wii. If I record all this down on my fitness page and do the same kinds of things each day and then check it off on the team page at the end of the week, that will record my progress for the team challenge??? Are these videos that are being used in the challenge for sale? I would rather see them on my big tv then the little laptop screen.

HELP..I not able to view the video's. My computer is to slow. I thought as long as you did some type of cardio each day it was okay. So far I did 10 min's of Jumping Jacks, 10 min's of jumping rope, ND 10 min's with weight.. IS this okay?? emoticon emoticon

Day 1 of the weekly videos is a cardio one. There is no toning exercise requirement today. Of course, you are free to add some toning/strength exercises if you want to for an extra workout.

JESSICAAMBER12 - You do not have to start over unless you just want to. To be eligible for this month's weekly prizes, you have to have 200 fitness minutes in a week (defined as Sun through Sat). I hope that makes sense. Let us know if you have further questions.

NORAS_PAT - Yes, you can do the Leslie Sansone power walk as part of this challenge.

Regarding your comment about the 28 day bootcamp, I wouldn't think about adapting it to your level as "cheating" at all. Coach Nicole is demonstrating one level of the workouts; but not everyone can (nor should) do the exercises at the same level. We are all capable of different things.

Hi UMMSULAYM_NOVA - Day 1 is just the cardio video; there is not a strength/toning one designated for Day 1. And, yes, strength and toning are sometimes used interchangeably.

JESUS.SAVED.ME - I'm sorry that you're having so much foot pain. You can certainly start the challenge when your feet are ready. The only thing that starting late might affect is your eligibility for prizes. Any participant who tracks 200 minutes of exercise per week is eligible for the weekly prize.

While you are having trouble with your feet, you might want to substitute some chair exercises for the regular bootcamp workouts. You can find info on them here:

From what I understand, we are to do 10minutes of toning ?strength training everyday and 30minutes (or at least 10) of cardio five days out of 7. Go to the main team page, you ll find a list of 4 with check boxes next to them(it's right under the "invite others to this group" tab). Only the first one is enabled and it says 'complete week 1 action steps. if you click on this you ll get to a page with more details about the challenge. It says week 1 action plan. under this click on the get your workout videos link and here you ll find the toning videos . Day 1 is a cardio workout though so I am still confused as to which video we are supposed to be doing for day 1 in terms of toning/ strength training.

I hope this helps. As you ll notice I still have questions particularly about what toning video we are to do on day1 and if toning = strength training. Any takers?

I am a novice with these things I have checked out the videos thats ok. I usually do Leslie Sansone Power walk for an hour daily. Can I do that for this challenge it is in my tracker but only as walk away the pounds.
This is yard season and i do lots of raking and get those in as cardio.
MY REASON FOR JOINING THIS IS I LOVE TO DO THE 20 MINUTE RESISTANCE BAND WORKOUT BUT I AM STUCK ON A PLATEAU AND THOUGHT I WOULD CHANGE TO THE VIDEOS NICOLE SUGGESTS.
WHEN I PUT ANYTHING IN TO THE TRACKER TO ADD TO YOUR WORKOUT FOR TODAY .WHEN I GO TO THE WORKOUT IT WILL HAVE REMOVED ALL OF MY OTHER EXERCISES.
I NOTICED I AM NOT THEONLY ONE. THE OPTION ARE REPLACE OR ADD TO TODAY. I AM BEING VERY CAREFUL TO GET IT RIGHT BUT THAT STILL HAPPENS.

I bought the 28 day boot camp are those videos all in there. I looked at it and I was sure it was off limits to me but recently was told you can adapt. to your level. I think of that as cheating so I quit using it,

Since the videos are on youtube, it would be more of what their terms of use say in regards to that. On our end, as long as they aren't being sold, it should be ok (for personal use only), but we can't say one way or another if it is violating youtube's terms of use. So take caution if you do anything like that.

I'm not sure if it violates the terms of use if you're not planning to sell it, but it's possible to download videos from youtube so that you can view them as a file on your computer or smartphone. From there, you could burn them to a DVD if you wanted. It would take about an hour to do this with all the videos from the challenge, I think.

Again, I'm not 100% sure if that would be legal, but I'm sure one of the Coaches could reply to this topic and tell us.

Roll your mouse over “My Trackers” in the top left corner of the screen.
Click on “My Nutrition,” which is the second link down.
You’ll now see your Nutrition Tracker page.
Roll your mouse over "Tracker Options" (just below the date on your Nutrition Tracker).
Click on "Show Meal Plans."
Your meal plan will then be listed on your Nutrition Tracker.

If you want to change your meal plan options, while on your Nutrition Tracker page:

Click on "Change diet settings."
Scroll down the page to the Meal Plan Settings section.

Rachel - Yes, you can go to the Healthy Lifestyle tab at the top of the page, click on the button to view all fitness videos and then select a video that works the same thing as the video you are swapping out (upper body, lower body, or core). You can use any of the videos there to swap out for any of the videos in the challenge.

Hi! I'm going to start the Spring into Shape challenge tomorrow. I was looking through the videos and notice that Day 4 and Day 7 require resistance bands. i have been waiting on starting to log the videos until the official start of the challenge, but am not sure whether the site will recognize my efforts beginning on the 29th, if I don't quit and then rejoin.

I'm a little confused, is this the same one as last year or is this a new challenge? It says I've already joined this but yet it startes it starts 4/29/12.

JAVAQUEEN74 and LIGHTWORKERD - I'm sure others have the same question too. You don't have to do anything special to track the fitness minutes for this bootcamp. Just use the Fitness Tracker or QuickTrack and record whatever workouts you are doing. Just be sure to get the required minimum minutes each week (200 mins per week) if you want to be eligible for the prizes.

Let me know if you were looking for more details on how to use the Fitness Tracker / QuickTrack.

PEGGIE57 - You post your bootcamp workouts just like you would any other exercises. That is, you post in your Fitness Tracker or in the QuickTrack, whichever you prefer.

Hey kids! My question is... for those of you doing another workout program, how do you log that versus the SP videos?? I love SparkPeople and all, but the videos bore me to tears. No offense, Nicole! LOL.

To give you an idea of what I am doing, I do a program called ChaLEAN Extreme (strength/cardio based), and am also incorporating C25K training, as well as a TurboFire program called Firestarter, a 20-25 minute low impact HIIT workout.

I would love to do this challenge and have some accountability, but not if it's going to be a pain in the tuchus to log the workouts to make it count. Know what I mean???

I'm a little confused as to where you post fitness minutes. I'm similar to previous person who will be seeing a PT in a week because of neck & shoulders. For upper body, I will do what's prescribed & then add walking & bicycling for lower or whatever Niclole might have. Thanks for your help.

CAMTHERAM - I think it might be better if you ask your doctor or physical therapist what exercises you can do at this time. We're not really able to give recommendations for your specific condition.

I actually sprined my ankle and have bruises/stitches on my kneecaps right now... Any help on how to adapt the workouts this week for me?

LKISINSATIABLE - If I do upper body weights on the day I'm supposed to do the upper body video that uses a band to do arm exercises, I consider my weights to be an equal substitute and I don't do the video unless I want the extra few minutes and exercises. It's your option. I would review the videos and then see how you can schedule them to accommodate your current workout routine. The videos cover strength exercises, so make sure you are substituting for that and not aerobics.
