Had a question about week one... it says to do one 10 minute toning video every day. Is that in addition to my current program or instead of my current program? For instance, if I do the company boot camp class (which is circuits of cardio and strength training) or booty barre, do I still also have to do the 10 minute video?

Good answer Anne. If possible do the 30 minutes at a minimum and add according to your capabilities. For those who are new, I always recommend that you do your best, and forget the rest - just like Tony Horton says!

I agree with ANNEBOO about doing the level of cardio that you think is right for you. I try to do at least 30 minutes per day; but some days my true cardio is a little short of that while other days I may go 45-60 minutes. The important thing is to keep on moving!

This time around I am starting out and starting with the 30 min....
Last spring when I did the challenge I was not starting out and I was doing a minimum of 45 min cardio every day, so my suggestion is to Do however much you feel you need and can push yourself emoticon

For those of you that are NOT just starting out.

Are you doing the recommended 30 mins of cardio or are you doing the cardio longer??? Just wondering what your thoughts on this is. I wonder if 30 mins will be sufficient enough?

On the teampage is a box where you can click a box for each week you complete. Click on week 1 and it hyper links to the directions for the workouts. Click on the link for the workout and you will see where you can click on day 1 which loads of the video. Sorry it's late and I'm typing on my phone. I'll log on in the morning and give you a link directly to that page.

Hi ONTHERUNMOM4 - Hoping I can help you find the videos. I am guessing that you may be referring to the page that I've linked here:

If you look about 1/2 way down that linked page, you'll see a small chart where the word "Video" is in the top left corner of the chart. To the right of "Video" there is a link for each day's video. For example, click on the link "Day 1" and you'll get a new page that actually shows the video.

Ontherunmom4 if you click on your fitness tracker you can click the (swap workout section and you can see ALL the different type of fitness exercises they show you how do do on here both......but I think what they are talking about on here is doing the workouts on the video 28 day boot camp DVD that sparkpeople sells. hope this helps

LISHWA - Yes, the cardio can be any type of your choosing 5 days per week. Also, the Day 1 video is a cardio one.

You can do the strength videos (days 2-7) in addition to whatever your usual strength training is if you like.

I wanted to find out. Do y'all eat before exercise, after, or both? I read somewhere that is best to eat after exercise but I tried that today and wasn't even able to make it through my whole workout before I started feeling shaky and nauseous.....needless to say I didn't finish my workout for the day, only did half.

Also, on the elliptical when I do more strides my heart-rate goes into the highest point it can show on the machine (you know the orange part past the cardio section) is that normal? If not, should I slow down to make it in the green cardio sections?

I just want to make sure I got this right: to earn the trophy you have to do all of the videos instead of your regular strength training, but ANY 10-30 minutes of cardio, five times a week?

Hi Vicky:

If you click on the link to get the first week's workout you'll see that 150 minutes are cardio and then you add the videos on top of that. It should total more than 200 minutes if you did everything for the week.

Glad you're in the challenge and hope you have fun. My cardio today was on the trampoline!

Question. To be eligible for the contest you are saying that you have to have at least 200 fitness minutes for that week. However IF you are asking us to do 5 cardio sessions and to aim for at least 30 minutes each session that would only be 150 minutes.. just saying

Otherwise, if you want to do like Michelene mentioned and leave the team and join again, you can do that. Both ways are just fine, so that will be your preference on what you want to do. emoticon

RCOV10 - you can substitute. I try during this challenge to coordinate my upper body days (weights) with the day it is part of this challenge. You're working the same muscles and probably working longer than Coach Nicole's videos.

Substitution is allowed whenever necessary.

Here's the deal: I have had a personal trainer since November that I see once a week.... could I substitute this workout (that's going to happen anyway) instead of doing one of the videos? It's a full-body routine which includes core work, upper body and lower body exercises.

COOPSCOOPC On the team page you can see the box where you check off each week that is completed. Click on the link to week 1 etc and the instructions and links to the videos will pop up. We repeat the same 7 videos each week and they are all on those links for each week that you check off.

Just finished doing day 1 video of week 1. can't figure out how to add it to my fitness tracker. I've read the instructions, but there is no pull down menu when I go to my fitness page. And no add button on bottom of video page. A bit confused... emoticon

can i do my own work outs? i do CrossFIt twice a week, and walk the rest of the week. this month it would be amazing if i could incorporate pilates and spin classes into my workouts; can i do this stuff instead of what's recommended for us to do?

Hi: I just started the Challenge yesterday and had difficulty seeing the video to follow along on my computer ....so I purchased the 28 day Boot Camp DVD ...... is this the same videos that the challenge requires me to do??

Today is my 1st day with Spark People but I have been working out all week. Why is it every time I run or do all my exercises I get really bad leg cramps in my shins?
