Yeah, I was thinking it was too good to be true. Me and DH are on day 11 and my resolve is weakening. I have lost 6 pounds and he's lost 9. Nevertheless, it's all for nothing if we gain it right back. Thanks for your input.

17 DAY'S! Consecutively?

Are you kidding me? I can't go three days where I lower my food intake and increase my exercise.

However, with this pattern I have lost 5 pounds over the past 5 years and have kept it off. While I would like to be able to lose at least a pound a month, Cardio in the winter is a painful experience due to a back injury that broke two vertebrae (healed, but now with arthritis grinding), one ruptured disc and two partially compressed discs. In the late Spring through Summer and into mid Fall, my Cardio is swimming. Currently my pool has been drained below the skimmer line level and the pipes all blown out. The remaining water is frozen solid.

I know some people can do a complete life-style change, but just the thought of a 17 day life-style change causes portions of my brain to short out.

That's one of the reasons I believe I will be a member of Spark until I croak, or SparkGuy runs out of money - whichever comes first.

Well, that and all of the Super people I meet on Spark - especially on the Writers team.

Hi LISAWRITES - I hadn't heard about this diet before. This is what the ConsumerCompare.org site says about it:

Any weight that might be lost on this diet will likely be short-term. The 17 Day Diet is not unlike other calorie restrictive diets which are usually good for short-term weight loss. But, the fact remains that once a dieter goes back to the way they normally eat, all weight loss progress is usually given back.

In addition, the 17 Day Diet calls for exercise six days a week. While the length of the exercise is only 17 minutes, this will add to the short-term weight loss. However, once the 17 days is over, a dieter who stops working out will further kill their weight loss progress.

Has anyone here been able to keep the weight off with this one? Is it just a fad? It's pretty extreme.
