I think our new icon is very neat, simple and classy.

It reflects well on our team.

I added four more choices on my Spark Page in my Pictures section. I think the Ghost Writer would be good for Halloween next year. The good thing is that they are all in the public domain, and I temporarily outwitted Spark by downloading them to My Pictures on my computer, then uploaded them to my Pictures here on Spark.

If anyone finds a picture they'd like the rest of the team to consider, just post it on your Spark Page and we'll have a silent vote.

We're slowly getting our ideas put together and I think you will like the new layout. We are trying hard to make it more logical. I'm thinking we might have a "Copywrite" section where a member can post a paragraph or chapter of something they are currently working on to receive `gentle` comments from the rest of us.

If everyone else is a little skittish, I have one I can post. I have had one reader read it and I would like to get an opinion from the professionals (and wannabes like me). I'm a Certified Spelling Policeman and can testify about phraseology and ending sentences with prepositions.

I am week on punctuation, probably because I punctuate like I speak - which can be ..... well,.....interuptive and not quite make cents? Scents? Since? Sence!

He shaves his head and doesn't carry guns (that I know of!) Some of the people he is traveling with are from there.

Some are from India.

All are US citizens with good jobs and will return when at the same time.

Were I to go to Npal, I would want to go with someone who could check my six. The Chinese make politics there very dicey.

Tell him long hair is good and not to take any polished shoes. Just Kidding!

I know how it is with sons - mine is 41 and when he went to Afghanistan, I tried to spend every minute with him that I could! Thanks for checking for us! I should have time to play with this on Thursday.

I may be a way from the computer for most of the day. I will check back and if no one has discovered the way to remove her and add themselves, I will go to the business page and enlighten you. I did this less than 2 months ago. ? BUT I can't remember without having the simple instructions in front of me.
If you go to the SP's Team for Team Leaders- Business Only on my page and click it. you will be able to figure it out.

My son leaves for CO today INDIA, (maybe Nepal, too) when his visa is sent back! It's vital that I spend today with him. I may not seem him for 2-3 months. :( He is going for sight seeing and fun with friends.
But I will miss him!
Yes, he's a grown man .... still my baby, though.

Popeye - with your lead, I'm happy to be co-leader. I'm retiring in January and will have the time - more time then than in December, but will do my best. I'll be happy to have a mentor! Let me know if that's okay with you.

I'd nominate Julian May and Suzette Haden Elgin...

Popeye, you will do well. I bet you won't have any problems getting a 2nd maybe even a 3rd to help you with this team.

I wish I could, but I spend way to much time on the spark teams, already.

I will, however, do my best to write in the challenges.

Yaya! So glad this team is going to have a chance now!

"Great Minds" and all of that......

I have checked every way I know how, but haven't found a trace of Sloofy. If the Leader of a team has not posted on the team in 60(?) days, maybe 90, the system is supposed to generate an automatic notice to all team members that the Leaders position is "vacant" and you could volunteer.

I'm the "active" co-leader on one team and I have been a Leader on another (DwD) HUGE team. I have already volunteered elsewhere, and will do it here as well. However, in case of my demise or incapacitation, I insist there be at least one co-leader who wants to remain fairly active so this kind of thing doesn't happen again.

OK, I can't Insist, but it really is a good idea.

I'll go back through each topic and see if I can find any evidence of Sloofy posting and will then contact the Spark Coaches.

And Yes, a Leader has the ability to place or change Icons.

If we do writers, we could swap them out on a monthly/quarterly basis. Let's see, I nominate Sir Isaac Assimov, Lee Child, Robin Cook, an old time fantasy great who masked her identity so she wouldn't be immediately scorned (Yup, even science fiction and fantasy writers (all men at one time) discriminated against women. They were thought to not be able to process logically and higher math forms couldn't be understood by them - with few exceptions like Madam Curie, Andre Norton, Shakespeare, Hemingway, EA Poe, Robert Heinlein, W.E.B. Griffin, Jr. (most will probably look this one up), Emily ..... Emily What'shername, Zane Grey, Jules Verne, Elizabeth Ann Scarborough and others not remembered from the first drawer.

You can see that I am simply a trash reader. I prefer something that takes my mind away from who's going to pay how much for medical care, why did we let our ambassador get gunned down and why didn't they let someone to go to their aid and who made that decision, how high can the death total in the Philippines go, Does anyone know that the United States has already donated over a million tons of food/medical supplies/temporary housing, outdoor showers and sanitation stations? And the biggies for me - why do we send military support to countries that are not our allies? Or that have publicly declared their goal is to destroy us? The same question for all the billions (trillions) of dollars spent where there are no apparent advances.

Sometimes I have to read my wife's favorite author, Nora Roberts (AKA J.D. Robb) just so I get enough fluff in the rinse cycle of cleaning my brain.

I also emailed the leader and asked if she wanted a co-leader. No answer. But I'm still getting the digest, so somethings happening.

I'll check in with a couple of my friends who are leaders. I'll also post a couple of possible icons - I have two weeks off so I have time.

It is a simple process. How long has sloofy been missing in action? Regardless, anyone can sign up to be a co leader long enough to do it according to the bi laws in leadership etiquette and even remain a leader!

No offense to slooty. I am sure she has done a wonderful job.

I am leader in 1forum and appointed c-leader in another forum, so I have read about it.

no, I DON'T WANT TO DO IT! lol
hmmmmm now I can't remember how to do it from the membership board. I just don't even have time to read the bi=laws at the moment either. :(
I have e-mailed the leader a few weeks ago or maybe it was a few days, not sure now,
no response.
has any one spoken to her lately? Might b on vacation!

Certainly don't want to move her out, just help her get us an icon, maybe? We need her cuz she has been good.

it is very simple though! I just don't have any time left as it is now!!!

I suppose if we had Shakespeare or Edgar Allan Poe there'd be no question about identity. Or Hemmingway.

How do we get an icon on the team site? I imagine the team leader has access - not sure the rest of us do.

Hey Everyone,

Don't you think our team needs an Icon to represent us? What should it be? A writer? Maybe Shakespeare or Hemingway? George Orwell or Mary Shelley.

Or, since we are writers, should it be a quill and inkwell, or perhaps pen and paper.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels and looks.
