This first week has been an enormous eye opener for me. Since weighing all my food, I noticed how much I have been overeating which was quite a shock. However, I'm proud to say it did make a difference.....I Lost 3lbs this week. I know 3lbs is not a lot , but I cant help but to get excited about the future. I'm thinking I can do this now. emoticon

this week wasn't really that good for me. I've been doing Zumba & Jujitsu combined for the past 3-4 weeks, and when I weighed myself at the doctors, I gained 3 lbs. Seriously what the heck? I think I might have an anxiety disorder because I'm under a lot of stress. Any help? emoticon emoticon

Did really well for 1st few days then went to a music festival for 3 days. Tried to limit my alcohol and make wise food choices. Did lots of walking and carrying heavy rucksacks so that was my exercise!! Managed to lose 3lb but have struggled since I got back. Fresh start tomorrow with tracking calories and exercise properly. xxx

This past week went really well. I stayed very motivated and felt strong about my eating choices. I was able to track most of my food this week. At work I only take the stairs now. I had been really trying to get in my 8, 8 ounce glasses of water, which I finally met today. I managed to work out about 2 nights and went caning this weekend. I like to use the wii fit so a few days ago I ordered the riser for the balance board :) to get a better work out. I also convinced my boyfriend to try new healthy alternatives while we were shopping at the grocery store. Although this week I only lost 1 lb. But I started Aug first at 230lbs and now I'm at 219. This next week, I'm going to try and only weigh myself once a week!

I just started on the 19th. I am feeling great! I had been doing WW for over 4 months and was trying to eat healthy for months before that. But, I was still having trouble getting the right combinations of carbs, fats and proteins right. Now I am getting the guidance that I need. I am finding far more information and support on this site. I have the Kindle version of "The Spark" and am reading that now. I'm just so happy that I made this move. emoticon

Well I weigh in on Monday mornings and I am proud to announce I lost 6 lbs! I used the calorie counter everyday, walked quite a few mornings and worked out for 15 min in front of the tv everyday. SparkPeople has really inspired me. I'm so excited. I'm hoping the inspiration keeps coming for me and for the rest of the wonderful folks in the group.

So far so good. I even went to lunch with coworkers and made it through okay. I drank a lot of water and ate a carrot about 30 minutes before we left, then made the best choices I could find on the menu (Chinese). Feeling pretty good about overcoming that first big test.

Someone mentioned the "21 Day Fat Loser" program, and I started that 2 days ago. Tough, but exactly what I need to hear. (You can Google that phrase if interested. Be warned: You may find him offensive in his bluntness.)

I've decided to weigh once a week, as I become too obsessive over the daily weigh-in, but I'm definitely feeling better and stronger.

Go TEAM!

It wasn't easy but I jogged wednesday thursday friday and sunday. Walked my dog every day and I tracked my food, two of my goals. I did have a rough Sunday afternoon and evening. I found myself snacking mindlessly, another one of my goals. I decided to forgive myself and move on. Today has been much better. Down 3.5 pounds...yahoo!:) Hopefully this week will be just as good. Things are going to become more hectic with kids starting school. I just have to remember to take time for myself:)

My first four days were great! Went to Zumba class 3x and tracked my food intake. I lost 2 pounds! Then the weekend hit. :-( Ate and drank all the wrong things. BUT I did do a 4th Zumba class on Saturday morning. I find the site motivating and helpful knowing that others are having similar struggles as I am. I've also realized I havent been eating enough of the proper foods. I love the calorie tracker and the fitness tracker. I also find writing in the journal daily really helps me. Seeing what I'm doing/not doing in words hits home for me. I can let the emotions out instead of eating them. :-)

Today is the start of a new week! Goals: 4 Zumba classes, 1 strength/weight day. Continue to track food every day and keep up with the 10 glasses of water daily.

Good luck team!!

Its not the destination but the journey that matters.
The journey to learn to live a healthy, active lifestyle.

I did pretty well, lost 4 lbs so far. Hopefully by the end of next week I will no longer belong to the 300 pounder club. :) When I first started tracking my food I thought I would be sick just seeing how over all my calories and fat were. I was still very much in WW mode- looking at points rather than the whole picture. This first week I decided to eat like I normally do, to see if I could pinpoint my problem (I don't eat much but have been at 306 for about 6 months now). What I discovered was actually the opposite. I am staving myself of almost everything good. I am usually about 500-800 calories below where I need to be (no wonder I am so tired!) and I am way below in everything except fats (where I am right on or a little over). Mystery solved! My body thinks it is starving and the only surplus it has is fat. Now the challenge is letting myself eat more everyday. I am so used to barely eating anything, it has been hard to get the extra calories in (especially without adding fat or carbs). I feel good that I have lost some weight and that I have done well tracking my food. I wasn't sure I would like tracking my meals. I sure hope I can keep this up! I would love to lose 130 lbs over the next 2 years.

I found weighing everyday can be discouraging. If you have been working out know that muscle weighs more than fat so don't be hard on yourself. It just may be that some of those kg are now muscle. I believe the true test is the way your clothes fit. If they still feel good or you can now get a finger in the waistband then you are on the right track. Keep it up!!! emoticon

I got off to a bad start but it was interesting to see how many calories were in the choices I made. I have not weighed myself yet and probably won't until the end of the week. Watching the scale was what got me frustrated in the first place. I am not so good at the exercising part of this but I know that will pick up so I am not worried. I'll just keep on keeping on.

For the amount of working out, your calorie intake may have been too low. Also you need to consider that muscle weights more than fat. So you likely burned up what you wanted to lose and started replacing it with muscle

I am finally up to 8 glasses of water per day, and have really made an effort to track all of my food.

Do not give up! Even if the scale needle didn't move, you still made progress for your fitness and your health. Don't always go for the weight loss when working out. Try to enjoy your own solitude when your working out, be mindful of your body's capabilities, feel the air in your lungs as you breathe, and enjoy the relaxation of your body afterward. You're "putting money in the bank" toward your health! You may see double results next weeks. Sometimes it takes the body time to react for some reason!
Keep at it! emoticon

I lost 3lbs this week and am so pleased.
I do not go to the gym but I have managed to walk for 2 miles every lunchtime during the week. I did have an Indian takeaway at the weekend but my partner and I just shared a meal and a boiled rice and we both agreed that was plenty.

Am already feeling fitter and not craving chocolate so much.

However I am finding it difficult to reach my iron level goal. In fact I haven't hit it all week. This morning I had black pudding for breakfast but even that didn't seem to help much. Is anyone else monitoring their iron intake? There will be some foods where the iron content hasn't been posted but even taking this into account I am quite a way off reaching it.

Congrats on making it to the gym 5 times this past week! I have never done that! Your body is probably building muscle. It's ok, don't worry! Keep going to the gym and eating right, you'll be losing weight so fast! emoticon Also if you're really worried about it talk to one of the traineres about it at the gym. They should be able to help you with any questions too!

It's been an up & down week for me. I had a baby shower I was hosting on saturday and I let my emotions and stress over take me. I didn't workout as much as I wanted to, but tried very hard to stick with the eating plans. It must of worked cause I lost 2 pounds! I can't wait to stay on track with it all this week! Hi all, I started spark yesterday. I love the calorie counter. I can not believe how much sodium I took in yesterday, 3100+!!!! I went shopping tonight and i was checking all of the labels. That is something I don't do. I will from now on. I am learning good diet tips and nutrition tips. This site is very helpful for me. Do I weigh in tomorrow, just to start the new week? emoticon

Loved this first week! I'm trying to take things slowly because otherwise I get fed up and just completely give in.

Accomplishments for the week:
- Lost 1.2 lbs.
- Went to the gym three days--I haven't been there at all in months.
- Tracked all my food. Yeah...I'm outta control.

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming week. My big goal this week is to not drink any alcohol. The amount of calories I consume at the bar is ridiculous!

Today is only day 3 for me today. The calorie counter is REALLY helpful! Ive noticed though that there are some foods in the search that people dont bother with the Vit/mineral section when they enter it .. any idea why they would leave that out? I also realized that I need to go back to skim milk, but the rest of the family wont drink it. I buy milk by the gallon since its cheapest for our needs. Being a family of 5 and only 1 income I cant buy 3 different milks (baby drinks soy milk). I think next pay day Im going to get 2% and when they get used to that, maybe down grade to 1%. I remember an old episode of Rosanne where she empties the generic brand cereal into the brand name box to fool the kids. I wonder if theres a way to steam the old whole milk label off the jug and put it on a jug of 2% - LOL! Not sure about what I weigh yet, since I only just weighed myself Friday when I started. Yes, I need to keep track, but I dont need to become scale obsessed. I do notice that I feel better than before. Back when I was my skinny self and used to work out 6x a week I noticed that when I eat nothing but unhealthy food for a day I didnt feel as good. I like that with Spark I can find a balance between the two eating healthy and still allowing myself a little bit of the unhealthy from time to time without guilt tripping myself about it.

It has been a good week. The scale says I'm down 4 lbs but I was dieting for a few days before I started SP. I love the online calorie counter. That is my favorite feature!

I had one panic day that I learned from. Breakfast was served at work and I didn't even think about what it would be. In the past, there was an assortment. Well, it was donuts!!! So, I learned to just eat before I go or take something just in case.

I have to say it has been a great first week! I've hit the ground running (walking really as I'm not fond of actual running at this time). I'm learning a lot, racking up points, tracking all sorts of goals, dropping some pounds, feeling better, eating healthier, etc. I am really enjoying myself and I truly believe I will be successful. Keep up the good work team. I'm happy to be on this journey with you.

Well I haven't lost any weight but I have been more conscious of my eating and switched to carrots and apples for snacks and I have managed to fit in 4 x 30 minutes of exercise which have improved my posture if nothing else so its baby steps for week one but steps in the right direction all the same!

I have only been with SP 3 days but it has helped to keep me focused by tracking all I eat. I have done well so far. Drinking more water, less caffeine.exercising more,at least one day so far, and eating smaller, healthier meals.

I have enjoyed my first partial week. I really think the food tracker helps a lot. It keeps me truly thinking about everything I am eating and not just popping something in my mouth while I make dinner or feed the kids lunch.

Although I only just joined sparkpeople and therefore this team as of yesterday, I have been sparked all on my own and learning a lot as I go along! I have been tracking my exercise and eating habbits for around a month now, I was using an android phone app called NOOM. I didn't transfer the whole onth I have been tracking, but I did transfer my exercise and water intake for this whole week. I found a lot of interesting things to read and a lot of motivation here on sparkpeople and am looking forward to so much more as I strive to reach my goal of lsing the 60 to 65 pounds that I have packed on after I quit smoking 4 years ago, had a minor surgery that same year and gave away a kidney 2 years ago.

I started riding my bike when my little guy got the hang of riding his bke without having training wheels on it earlier this summer. I take him on neighborhood rides and he has gone along with me for 3 to 5 mile rides and hung right in there! I try to kee it as fun for him as I possible can nd he is a real motivator for me. I want to be able to play with him, ride bikes, play basketball, swim, and so on without being winded as a result of the extra poundage. I also want to be around for his life beyond his own, and to do that I need to watch my health. Having only one kidney, I must control my weight so that I do not develop diabetes or other serious illnesses.

I AM MOTIVATED! I HAVE A FEW PARTNERS IN EXERCISE AND DIETING! I HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!!
