AGENTJ9 - I hear you! I get frustrated by slow progress when I know where I want to be, can see where I want to be, but here I am. When I'm feeling like that is when I have to be extra vigilant against breaking my diet or skipping on exercise.

Hang in there! You WILL reach your goal. In the meantime, celebrate how far you've come. Put together the equivalent of the weight you've lost using potatoes, a bag of flour, etc., as a good visual of your success thus far. You're doing great, and even if you finish slowly, you'll finish strong!

Kaizen, Japanese for "continuous improvement" or "change for the better," refers to philosophy or practices that focus upon continuous improvement of processes. Kaizen is a daily process of making changes and monitoring results, then adjusting as needed.

I know what you mean about the blueberries! Getting fruit and veggies into me is a real challenge! I rarely ate them before... so it's a struggle to eat them now. But I know they're good for me... yada, yada, yada. :)

Hmm... So I'm down to about 160lb and I don't really feel all that different, which is frustrating! People have been noticing, and I do feel somewhat batter, but I'm still not where I want to be, and not progress seems to be very slow... Just thought I'd share my frustration.

For Mammamia927...I solved that problem by getting both my husband and my daughter on to Spark People...once they started tracking what they were eating...suddenly eating healthy is not a challenge but a group effort.

The trick is to not comment on anything your husband makes or when he serves it (too much ego at play!!)...find a neutral time when no ones ego is involved and encourage him to join SP...make him feel you need HIS support to get to the other side..nothing about the food he cooks...once he is on SP and the food tracker...the rest will follow!

Ok .. total newbie to SP. When it has you track your water intake, is it 1 click per 8oz cup? Wasnt sure because it just says cups.

I love my husband! He is a truly great guy, but I have a problem. He is retired and I work full time, so he took over the cooking a number of years ago. Don's a wonderful cook, but I can't get him to cooperate on menus. He always puts in tons of salt, butter, there's sauces and gravy on stuff, and not much veggie. Since he puts a lot of work into his cooking, he tends to get insulted if I try to tell him that I can't eat what he has made, or only very little of it. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? He knows I am working on losing the weight, but doesn't seem to think food has anything to do with it.

I ate a fat-free pudding cup that wasn't on my food planner list. BUT, I left off the cheese on my potatos SO it all evens out. :D Sorta. I mean, I know cheese is dairy and better for me than empty calories of Jello Pudding, BUT.. it's a lifestyle, not a diet, right? Real people eat pudding! :D

I have to say the food tracker told me that I should have a serving of blueberries for breakfast. I saw it was 3/4 of a cup. Easy enough. But once I poured the tiny blueberries into the measuring cup I realized... that's a LOT of blueberries.

I'm a meat/potatos/cheese girl. Eating fruits and veggies will be a small challenge for me. I did eat the blueberries, but only 1/2 cup worth. :P I mean, that's a TON of blueberries if you try it! LOL I brought the last 1/4 cup with me to work. I'll find a way to sneak the rest in my body. I know blueberries are great antioxidants and lovely for health. Just.. so many!
