I hope things are going better for you today. I know what you mean by owning your excuses. I have been telling people I gain weight from birth control, and yeah I did...4 years ago. I am overweight because I would eat an entire bag of chips and a container of dip for lunch. I would order 2 meals through the drive through so they didn't think I was "gross". I would spend all day on the couch watching TV instead of moving.

You are not alone in this!!! That is what I love about this site. I can screw up, but I can start again tomorrow. That was a bad habit of mine. Just giving up. I know I am not going to change my habits overnight. None of us can, we can just be here to pick each other up when needed.

Good luck and hang in there!!!

I hope you are able to make it through this tough day. I think I felt a little the same yesterday, but I know that I do really want this for myself. I think you do want this for yourself too, otherwise you wouldn't start a message. The good news about bad days is that they only have 24 hours! then you get to start over with a new day. I found that out first hand when I woke up today and found that I was having a MUCH better and SO much easier day. The extra good news for me is that the entire day has gone well.

Of course Dacius had the best advice to focus on one meal at a time, but for me, things don't seem that simple. Somehow I manage to lump everything into a day at a time. I will try to work on looking at it as one meal at a time and together you and I can make our changes!

When I started Sparkpeople, it was attempt 97 for e to lose weight. My wife could care less, my kids did nothing. I told my wife I lost 5 pounds and she wanted to celebrate with a trip to the ice cream store!!

We are all here for the same goal, but the reason we are here is different and varied. Remember that we gained our weight over years. So a week, a month, even a year is not a realistic time frame to lose it. Spark encourages an average of 1 to 3 pounds a week.

Remember that at first the body is changing inside, muscles are storing glucose and water, your entire system is trying to figure out these changes you are putting it through.

Just focus on one meal at a time, keep drinking your water and don't let those around you define your actions,

You can do this. We are here to help

I have just started this past week and excited and as the week progressed became more discouraged the lack of family support and my own ability to support my new endeavor. I want this badly i say, but do i? I know my body is crying for support as I can no longer walk properly as it tries to carry my over 300lbs weight. So where does one begin? Tracking is a great idea but having such a time of it ..As I right this i wish not to be a discourager.. I BELIEVE IN THIS I just need my mind to believe it and giving my body a chance. I have many excuses none which i want to really own. I have many reasons why I should loose and never claim my own. I am sitting here crying and knowing tears will not burn any calories. Loosing my job and knowing I need to look better for interviews have been so overwhelming me that I fall in the cycle wanting and never happening.
If anyone has gone through this your words of wisdom are being requested. Love and Light, Paulina
