Started back in January heavier than when I left several months before. I am slowly losing weight. I have lost about 1 lb per week. I am going to the gym twice a week and trying to at least walk daily.

My hubby and I are doing the juicing reboot plan. A new way of getting veggies and fruits into the meals....and making the body healthier.

This week I had a root canal on Monday. And Thursday a partial bowel obstruction.....so needless to say my exercise has been limited. I am hoping tomorrow will be better.

Watched 2 documentaries that opened our eyes: Forks over Knives; Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. Very eye opening about our diets. Let me know if anyone watches them.

I took a break for several months. Gained the weight I losted and a little more. Came back Jan 1st and have been making progress. When I started it was after the 1st anniversary of losing my son and had some emotional issues to still deal with. Now that I am feeling better I can focus my attention on my health and weight and not get distracted.

Holidays are hard times to stay on plan.

Hello everyone!

I feel like I am doing really well. I think I hit a bit of a plateau after Christmas, but I switched up my exercise/WT routine (it was due to be changed anyway) and have been following my nutrition tracker more faithfully. I have been working to make sure I drink my 8 cups of water a day, and I'm working this week on eating healthier snacks and fruits/vegetables. Last week I lost 2.4 lbs!!! I'm really looking forward to Sunday because that's my 6 month Sparkversary.

I dont' remember a whole lot of what happened the first 10 days of January. I was more depressed than usual and letting work and home life get under...some days it was just hard to care.

But since the 11th I have gotten up every morning and exercised 20-30 minutes! I am feeling better and moving along.

It took me a little longer than I expected to get back in the groove, but I think I'm finally back in the "eat healthy/exercise" mode. Getting off track for a while was a good wake-up call for me to see how easily I can go astray. Will need to get better at making this a true lifestyle change.

I actually lost a pound despite the holidays! We had a non-traditional Christmas meal and I worked a lot of extra hours...that must have helped.

Well, so I probably should belong to a New Year's resolution team since I haven't really participated on this one. I kind of fizzled last summer. I'm here now though! It's really inspiring to see those that have stuck to the program and how your lives have changed. My aha moment is; that it's the journey itself that changes us, not the actual event. Where will I be in 7 months if I stick to the program? I can't wait to see.

I did so much better than I expected during the Thanksgiving - Christmas season until....last week. Wow! It was totally back to my old "sweets" days. I think we're about done with all of the family and friend parties and munchies, so I'm very much looking forward to getting back on track and starting with the new "12 more pounds" goal. Happy NEW Year!

Just a reminder to enjoy the holiday and family time but try to plan ahead so you do not go too far off your plan. If possible do some extra fitness to counterbalance eating off plan.
Important part is to ENJOY the family time.....don't overthink it too much.

Congrats, MZNICOLEG. That seems pretty rapid for how light you already were to begin with. What did it for you? Are you able to maintain?

MZNICOLE - Wow!! 30 Pounds is terrific - and very inspiring. I started about the same time and I finally hit 15 pounds today. You give me hope that I can speed up my weight loss a little bit during the next few weeks if I improve on the exercise part.

My husband and I each got to the 12-pounds lost mark this week. Without knowing that "we" were eating healthier, he sprinted out ahead of me at first. Now that we are in the same place and now that he's aware of the intent, I expect him to move ahead a little faster. Since starting in July, this does seem so very slow, but since it's the first time in at least 10 years that I've been able to lose more than 5 pounds - instead of gaining 5 pounds, I'm thrilled and still motivated to keep on going for the next 12.

Haven't been around for a while, been really busy around my house. I have managed to lose 17 pounds so far, since coming back to Spark People in July. It's been slow, sometimes I wish I could lose the weight faster. Now that summer is over and fall is upon us, I should be posting a lot more. Have a great day everybody.

I think I've finally hit the "safe" 10 pounds mark....the scale says 11 but I know it will bobble up and down a bit. I know we aren't supposed to measure our success by the scale, but since I'm a numbers person by nature, I can't help myself! My clothes are fitting better and I still feel motivated enough to avoid most major danger zones related to bad eating habits. This has really been a new experience for me to eat responsibly for an extended period of time.

I've been doing well, these last two months...though I have to say I never feel ready to move up to the next stage. I recently moved from stage two to stage three and all I could think was '...really? Am I really ready? Did I really learn stage two? Did I change?'. I think I'll have to always be pretty vigilant about tracking calories and fitness minutes because I really don't feel like I've changed so much despite the steady weight loss.

I think that I'm going to revist the stages and kidn of do them in tandem with stage three. Or maybe start over in stage four.

I have been having a lot of stress at work....dreading steppping on the scale but was rewarded with a 1.4lb lost. It just goes to show....if you continue to work hard...do your fitness routine...it does pay off!!!

I've resumed exercise this week and lost 3lbs! I added an additional day of strength training and that seemed to help tremendously. I'm so proud of myself for not giving up! emoticon
