The first 2 weeks I only worked half days. And like I said, I bring Avery with me. And I had a normal vaginal birth with only a mild tear and no complications. Not to say that it was easy!

But we feel into a routine. It's actually been getting harder as of late, as at 14 weeks, she's awake for bigger parts of the day, and wants more amusement / socialization.

Back to work at 2 weeks!? You are a superwoman!

You would think that bad nap days would equal good sleepin at night. But it does seem to be backward like that. Those crazy babies.

Congrats! I remember the first time I got 6 hours of sleep in a row about 7 or 8 weeks pp. It was like being on some kind of drug. I was high on sleep!

My husband works nights, so I was alone with Avery from the beginning, and as I went back to work at 2 weeks (and took her with me), I never tried to establish any kind of routine. But, about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I started noticing that she was ready for bed between 8 & 9 at night, and often sleeps through until 5ish, though sometimes she gets up 1x.

I have noticed that on the days that she has good naps during the day she sleeps well at night. The days where she is fussy and won't sleep during the day, or if there are a lot of visitors and she doesn't nap as much, she tends to not sleep as well at night.

7 hours of sleep is amazing!

By 3 months or so, Jonas was only getting up once or twice a night. And the couple of nights were he did sleep longer than usual, I kept waking up at 4 then 5 then 5:30, wondering why he hasn't gotten up yet, and if he's ok. After 4 months, I'm almost to the point where I can sleep through the night without worrying.

Jen! I didn't know you had her! How is she -- how big was she etc??? Congrats to ya!

When Jacob came home, he didn't have a routine yet either. I spent the first couple of weeks sleeping on the couch with him!!! I loved it, lol!!

Yay!

Mine being only 11 days old is doing whatever she wants, whenever she wants. We're still too little to have established a routine yet.

WOOHOO!!! Mine was sleeping from about 10 pm until 6 am around 3 months. And then he stopped around 4/4.5 months. He decided that taking an evening nap was for the birds (and would scream for like 30 minutes until we got him back up). So over the course of about a week, we transitioned him to an earlier bedtime (in bed by 8). Of course now that means he gets up once (sometimes 2x) to nurse. My poor hubs being home alone with him this week had it a little rough. He'd go to bed fine, but then up at midnight for a bottle then up around 5:30 am. Last night with me back home, he got up at 1:30am to nurse then slept until 6:30am! Woohoo! And he's currently rounding out a 2 hours morning nap.

Love,
Hillary
