I've actually bought the big bags of spinach and put in blender and blend, then pour in ice trays and freeze, then pop out and put in ziplock. If you use regular sized ice cubes it ends up being right around an ounce of spinach each. Works great on a lot of produce and I don't have to add ice, as I love icy smoothies

I've never tried iceberg lettuce in a smoothie. There is not a lot of nutrition value in iceberg. I do like Romaine lettuce and also Butter lettuce in my smoothies. Of course, spinach is always a go to. Spinach freezes very well. I just throw the whole bag in the freezer and use it as I need it. That way I never end up wasting it.

i have two questions. i am sort of new to the smoothie thing and i try new additions cautiously as i hate to waste food. and i have made some really bad smoothies that i couldn't drink.

1) does lettuce have a taste in a smoothie? i don't think spinach really has a defined taste in my drink. what kind of lettuce would you suggest (i never touch iceberg)

2) i see deals on spinach but pass them up because i would never finish it before it would spoil. if i froze the spinach (in a "sheet" not a "cube" that i would just break off a piece) would it still taste the same? what about nutritional value?
