If you can get Endangered Species chocolate in Canada, they have several vegan bars. (Dark chocolate and almonds, dark chocolate and blueberries, yum.) They are made here in Indianapolis, IN (where I live). I've seen them at Whole Foods. You can also order online. (I'm not sure if they deliver to Canada though?) www.chocolatebar.com/ Bonus, they are all about animal and forest conservation. (Can you tell that I love this company? I even applied for a job once there, but didn't get it.)

Ghiradelli's semi-sweet chocolate chips are vegan. They come in a gold bag. You may want to check the label because many of their chocolate chips, even the dark chocolate ones, contain dairy. The chocolate chips from Trader Joe's are dairy free and at Whole Foods they sell chocolate chips that are labeled "vegan."

Guittard's chocolate chips are vegan friendly (usually the bittersweet ones for baking). I can find those at most major grocery outlets.

May I just point out as a general principle that it's useful if people posting 'where can I find' type questions include their country and state so we can take that into consideration.
cheers,

There are different vegan brands, so check your health food store. My Giant market's natural foods section has them. Today at Wegman's I got a bar of vegan dark chocolate with almonds that DH and I ate in the car on the way back home. Keep looking!

Wow, I didn't anticipate that! I have a Whole Foods nearby, so I may just go there.

Thanks!

Yes, they are hard to find consistently. I get mine online. The stores do not always carry them unless you go to Whole Foods. Try this vendor:

Sorry for posting so much these days. Taking everything in has been a bit of a slow process. I encountered my first true challenge last night.

I desperately wanted chocolate. I went to the grocery store, and along with my sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, kale, and soy milk, I grabbed a bag of chocolate chips. Luckily, I read the ingredients even though they were dark chocolate chips. Milk powder? What the heck! So I grabbed another bag, and checked its ingredients. Same thing! Where can a girl find some vegan chocolate chips?!?! (I'm not a huge fan of carob.)

Any feedback? Merci!
