Anyone watched Earthlings?

For those of you who haven't seen Earthlings yet, it's not anything like any other videos of its kind or nature, skinny bitch doesn't even come close to comparison neither does fast food nation. This video in and of itself is a very important film to watch, even though it is hard to do so. It does so much more than reinforce your ethics as a vegan it is extremely educational and I highly recommend it.

I saw bits and pieces of it. It was hard to watch and I was already commited to being vegan so I didn't watch the whole thing. It is a great movie for anyone to see, no matter if they had thought about these issues before or not. It really gets the point across.

I didn't even get past the first 10 minutes. I was a sobbing mess.. I'm impressed with those of you that managed to watch it all.

Am looking forward to finally seeing Peaceable Kingdom though - I've been waiting years for this to be re-released.

Yes I've seen it. It's an incredibly powerful movie. Most of it I knew already, and although it still bothers me to watch it, the worst was the fur portion, that was really heartwrenching to watch.
There is a new version of "Peaceable Kingdom" coming out soon, that is another film that I think will open many eyes. I think until people realize that the picture perfect image that's been painted in our minds is so far from the truth, many people will not make the connection and continue to support the abuse and exploitation of animals.

I actually just watched this a couple days ago. Wow. And I don't think I even saw the entire thing. The version I watched online was about 45 min. and I think it's more like 90. I knew pretty much all of that already, but watching that was so hard. I've been veg for 20+ years. I've mostly been eating vegan for awhile now and rarely have dairy or eggs in the house, but decided to finally make the leap to vegan recently. Today is day 2 animal-product free. I think that video will change anyone's mind who may be on the fence or is in denial about the truth of the farming/ranching industry. I'm still amazed at the lack of knowledge people have in regard to these issues. My mom went to a dairy farm with my sister and her young kids last year and was shocked when I said something about the way those farms are run. I guess she thought the glossy image they show the public on these little tours is what it's really like. My family drives me crazy, but sometimes I wish I lived closer so I'd have more of an influence on them. When I visit, my mom eats vegetarian with me unless we go out to eat somewhere. She was amazed that she actually enjoyed vegetarian pizza! haha

I've started to watch it but couldn't continue after the first few mins.. After having read in Skinny Bitch a bit about it plus on PETA I just couldn't.. (I cried for days after having read the passage about the slaughterhouses in SB.. which was the point for me to turn vegetarian and shortly after vegan)

It's so sad that most people don't know what's going on or simply wear blinders to it..

The movie *Fast Food Nation* started me off, and *Skinny Bitch* finished me off. I will check out Earthings for reinforcement!

No, I haven't seen Earthlings, but I've seen videos like it and read about animal abuse for food consumption in Skinny Bitch. And I saw the movie Supersize Me on HBO. I truly was disgusted that we could do the things we do to other living beings. The crappy part is we don't even need to eat them to live. So we're doing it because we want to, not have to. It's pretty sick really. That's another reason I went vegan. That and my health.

I have. It was absolutely chilling, and I could hardly stand a lot of it - I was so angry at the people doing these things. It's like... what? Geez, man.

For those of you who have not seen it, Goodsearch 'Earthlings Google Video'. I recommend it, especially for those of you who don't know (or don't care yet) about the animal rights aspect of veganism. It's good but awful, in that way that only reality can be.
