The buildings are there, the Senators are paid to do their jobs--impeachment is part of that, and I doubt it is a huge cost except for the lawyers and at least one of them is also on salary. Probably no more than the cost of one of the President's trips to Mar-A-Lago.

L3ON3TOO: I gotta wonder exactly how much these impeachment trials are costing us. I heard on the news this morning that they worked well into the early hours of the morning. Do they get paid for that or is that all just part of what is expected for the job?
Do you think they plan to get the money back by cutting Medicare?

KETOHAG: sweat pants are pretty much my uniform for the day LOL.

Felt particularly tired yesterday so I spent the later part of the afternoon lying around and watching shows I had taped. I also watched something off Netflix.

Was out most of the morning. Did some exercise and strength training at the Y. Also went to my Book Club at the Y.

I used to kick my shoes off as soon as I came in the house, too. Still do, though I now wait until I'm in my bedroom. Going barefoot at 300+ pounds is NOT good for the feet!

I pretty much never wear shoes anymore. I wear slip on sandals when I go outside, and kick them off as soon as I get in the house. To my mind, shoes are the worst thing in the world for feet, like putting your feet into casts every day. They don't get to work and exercise like they were meant to do.

HA! Got up to small ketones. Which is doubly great because I had over 140 NC yesterday. This morning's ST and cardio did away with them.

Now to GUARD MY SUCCESS!

Which means I am not going to let myself self-sabotage like I tend to do when I see some success.

We don't have squirrels in this neighborhood yet. Our house was built in 2003, and I've seen a squirrel about 5 blocks away across from the park, but I guess our trees aren't quite homey enough for them to move in. At our previous house we had a huge old tree in the backyard, and the resident squirrel loved to taunt our Schnauzer. It would be up there on a branch looking down and loudly scolding her. So funny.

Maw, think how much cooler you'll stay in the summer!

I've been feeding a whole neighborhood of squirrels this winter, so they should probably be hugging me!

KETO, I have always done the same thing, other than when the kids were around, but the best feeling for me was flinging those shoes off! Ahhhh. I just love being barefoot. I've trained myself over the years to wear them more often around the house, cause it's better for my back and legs and feet, but I still don't like it.

I interviewed for a part time job today, and am pretty confident they'll hire me - a market research data collection job; I've done it in the past.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to beg off. I realized afterwards that the number of hours will mess with my SS and UC. While DH is unemployed we've got to be ultra careful not to start using the credit cards again! Yikes, always something. Lord, I hate anything to do with money!

Time for some WoW. Lots of new content this week to sample!

Everyday is sweat pants day for me it's one of the first things I change into when I get home from work. It's like a strip tease (that no one wants to see) when I walk through the door, shoes one way, bra the other and I can't unbutton my jeans fast enough! I live alone and the blinds are closed so no one gets injured mentally or physically.

Let me know how the squirrel hug works out.

LOL!

Thanks for the chuckle Jeanne!

It's raining and looks like a massive storm in AZ coming our way. Every joint I've got is screaming and I can barely walk. I'll be staying home today. Even my toes hurt. Good excuse to read and watch the Impeachment Trial I guess.

I would guess you are losing weight again MAW. That always makes me cold cold cold as my body adjusts.

Enjoy your day--laugh if you can.

I read (somewhere) that it is also national "give a hug" day. Maybe we can hug a squirrel?

My name is Jeanne (pronounced Jean ee); I live in eastern Washington State.

Lots of squirrels in my neighborhood. The neighbor on one side of me feeds them intentionally, and I'm sure that other neighbors who feed the birds also feed the squirrels. I feed them with my compost pile.

Today is also Hugging Day, Museum Selfie Day, New England Clam Chowder Day (don't forget you can make a really good low carb clam chowder!), Sweatpants Day, and Granola Bar Day.

I've been freezing lately, even in sweats, a fleece vest and a long quilted bathrobe and/or a heavy sweater. I've even been turning up the thermostat a few degrees, which helps a little bit. Have been cold at night, too, even in flannel sheets and under three blankets. I added another flannel sheet doubled over, which helped some, but it was so heavy. I think being cold and the weight of all those blankets and flannel sheets (flannel sheets are quite heavy) was keeping me from sleeping well. Anyway, I wore sweatpants to bed last night and got rid of the extra flannel sheet and stayed warm and slept well. Hurray for Sweatpants Day!

Nothing much planned for today. Might play cards this afternoon. Haven't decided. It would be a good opportunity for socializing, which I don't do much of. We'll see.

Have a great day, everyone!
