...*vomiting opinions* - thank you for that, Connie. I LOL'd.

I'm with you - I don't even try to change anyone's mind, open it, or even share what I know. Generally speaking, when opinions "vomit" out, they do not spew forth from the curious or open-minded, but from some kind of well-gripped emotional or mental investment.

If someone told me my kidneys were going to blow up from keto or LC, I'd be likely to opt for Nay's response or just say, "Yup, I'll probably be dead from kidney disease tomorrow" and move on!

Connie, I do think it's worthwhile to correct someone who's actually got false information, at least if you have the factual information yourself . Most people are open to listening about keto or low carb when you point out that there are powerful financial interests who have fought against Just Eating Real Food for many decades. There is profit in carbs; not so much in real food. (Politics is the same. Nearly everyone agrees that it's all about the money.)

If they are people whom you like it's in their best interests and your own for them to live longer, healthier, happier lives.

Long ago, it was posited that, since people on dialysis have to watch their proteins, that, therefore, if you ate a "high protein diet" you'd put yourself at greater risk for kidney diseases.

That has never been the case, and in fact, most peoples' kidney function improves on a keto diet because of the lower inflammation rates.

Again, I always remind skeptics to "follow the money". Big Ag and Big Pharma do not want you eating stuff that you can buy locally or from the outer aisles of the grocery store - there's very little profit in it.

Thank you for your support. It's not worth the energy!!! I do the same when Politics come up!!

Passion is passion --- no one's passion will be changed when delivered in a passionate manner. Open minded discussions are Great!!! But jumping on the band wagon --- and responding to that passion --- doesn't work for me. Change subject --- get them to laugh -- make a note of opinionated -- passionate people. DONE!!! LOL emoticon

I never brought up the subject. That's the intimacy of vomiting opinions all over the place. We all have an opinion --- get in a group--- hear a noun --- beat the drum and jump on bandwagon-- SSsscccchhhhheeesssshhhh!!!

WOUBBIE: Yes, in the past I have done Flylady. It’s just recently (last few months – was rehabilitating from back surgery) that I just don’t seem to have any motivation to do house cleaning at all anymore. When I was rehabilitating, they actually told me NOT to do housework – LOL!

Oh wait- I did deep clean most of the fridge yesterday!

Ok”story re: womens meetup luncheon. I ordered my lunch & the woman next to me said:: keto will destroy your kidneys.

Duh: ”I ordered half ground steak burger blue cheese no bun served on lettuce no tomato grilled asparagus extra butter on asparagus & burger.

So the entire table (10) started lecturing me!! Now I am NOT a wallflower. I was stunned first I analyze once they all shut up & looked at me I laughed & asked so, how about those Packers Ta Duh!!

I just shook my head I got conversations going on other subjects. Breathe in breathe out. I wore a dress to lunch that I could barely get over my hips 12/24. I had to wear it due to the only dress in my suitcase. Today I put it on, it's a sheath from 1970's its loose & flows & when I sit he lining & over skirt stay together. (Women in my age group may understand). So No defending no hard feeling” I'm wearing a size that is Vintage. I collect women's Vintage clothes & jewelry. TaDuh!!

The appreciate dinner for Iron-man Volunteers was all Carbs --- all Carbs --- no greens-- so I passed on all food -- I did enjoy a beer -- the program was energetic and fun. I cry watching athletes strive to achieve. The work -- the injuries -- the weather -- so many unknowns. The organization to get this event going is Overwhelming.

As I was walking out one of hall my Massage Therapist was in the mix. I had to give her a hug. She was over worked taking care of athlete's injuries. Dehydration cannot be removed by massage. She said she was continually getting a medic to give IV's . Drink drink drink for days before competition--- the swimming part wore out many of the athletes. 85% of the entrants finished. Amazing. The weather was gruesome for September in WI.

Sleep tight!!! My oldest grandson will stay the night tomorrow. He's in Madison for training. I'll take him to my favorite restaurant. He'll sleep in the blue room and my HSM is looking forward to meeting him. I'll freshen up the room & put out fresh towels, etc. Life is good!!!

Hugs to All!!!

Thought I'd mention that I found cauliflower crust for pizza at Walmart that's actually low carb. Most of the cauliflower crust pizza I've seen is definitely not LC. The brand is Califlour and I found it in the frozen foods. It has 1 NC per 1/3 of the crust. And it's just the crust, not a pizza, so I can customize it how I want to. Normally I make Fathead Pizza, but this will be great for nights when I have to come home from work and be back out the door in a short amount of time. Which will be often now that fall activities are starting back up.

Happy shopping, Maw!

Charlene, have you ever tried the FlyLady method? www.FlyLady.net

Cleaning the next section of the fridge - the door. All those wasted condiments and sauces!?!?!? Threw about about 5 jars and rearranged the rest to free up space and put the most-used items in easy reach. I still wish I could replace the fridge entirely with a model that has the fridge on top and the freezer on the bottom, but that's gonna have to wait until this old one goes belly up.

Just did some odds and ends other than that, and ran out to the store for a couple items. I'll be without a vehicle tomorrow, mine's in the shop for an exhaust repair. Hope it's not too expensive!

Unexpectedly had my grandchildren today. The other "grandma" was sick, so we we filled in.

Needles to say, playing with a 4 year old all day is fun and tiring - LOL!

Heading out to dinner tonight with some friends. Going to the Longhorn Steakhouse.

Not sure yet if we'll have the grandkids again tomorrow????

Still have not gotten around to doing much "deep" cleaning. Boy, my house could really use it.

Leslie, Energy sent to surround you!!! Hugs to surround you!!!

Maw, My resale shops are my 'go to' for smaller sizes. Lingerie is purchased new. Have fun!! Congratulations!!! Acceptance of a different body is a Journey!!! Hugs

It rained most of my Volunteer time at Ironman. I wore a coat that was waterproof 20 years ago. LOL!!! It's reversible with a hood and the flannel inside -- kept me warmer. I brought gloves but once they got soaked -- my hands froze. Only two areas get cold on my body---hands & neck. If I go outside in the winter to move recycle bins, shovel steps I wear gloves & neck wrap. LOL!!! It stopped raining in time to break down & move everything to truck. Seriously--- I stayed until the end because the athletes were wet-- most didn't have coats, rain gear etc. If they stuck it out --- I was going to stick it out. Life is Good!! Great Motivation!!!

I sold one of my wooden 36 bottle wine racks this morning. I didn't get to bed until 2:00'ish am and had to meet the person at 8:30. DONE!!! YYYiiipppeeee!!! I will join a woman's monthly lunch engagement at a restaurant that has awesome salads and fish dishes. There's to be a dinner for all volunteers of Ironman tonight but I'm sure it would be Carby dishes so I'll pass.

Hugs to all!!! Decisions . . . HWC,, butter, bacon, eggs, spinach, fish, chicken, cream cheese, and on and on and on!!! YYYiiipppeeee!!!

Okay, Leone, that made me laugh out loud...

I'm tired. Same song, different day. Bella is still peeing outside the litterbox, and I indelicately pointed out to my mom that she is too. That had her laughing, but the truth is I feel like she's fading. Last night at the hospital she was pleasant (uncharacteristic given the circumstances) and very un-engaged. Not quite dis-engaged, but its passive cousin, if that makes sense.

I have to work at the PT job today and I've got client work to do. Need to go back to my mom's apartment and clean out any food that can spoil. She'll be going to a skilled nursing facility likely today or tomorrow and she's not going to be eating at home for a while.

Yup, not having a resting place for a book is a real downer! You may have to invest in a tub shelf. (GRIN)

Have to sweep and mop the kitchen floor and do the baseboards, but think I will mostly take it easy today. My knee and hands are giving me fits and a day of rest sounds good. Got everything on my lists done this weekend, so I am feeling ahead of the game. The Keto chicken pot pie was very good--though labor intensive, and made a huge amount of food. I am going to try freezing individual portions.

Started watching 'Stranger Things' season 1 at our friend's last night. Really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next 'TV night and Dinner'.

Enjoy what you can and ignore the rest.

Leone

High today of 70.

It occurred to me yesterday that I'm going to need a new winter coat this year. And it occurred to me last night that I'm going to need a whole new wardrobe! I did get a bunch of new clothes for summer, but mostly just t-shirts and capris. I need at least two new pairs of jeans (with zippers instead of elastic!), new sweats for around the house, a new coat, and probably some new tops. Also new bras and undies. Guess I'd better break down and do it.

Took a bath last night, for the first time all summer. (Showers are for getting clean. Baths are for soaking and relaxing with a good book!) I could get in a good soak with the water a lot shallower than it used to be. My tummy doesn't stick up out of the water enough to rest a book on. There are definite disadvantages to losing weight!

Both classes this afternoon, and I need to finish up my homework. Will walk to and from school. Will take Russell out for a couple of walks, too. Lots of dishes to do. I think I have some books to take back to the library. Stuff like that. Need to plan my meals for the day, too.

Have a great day, everyone, and a great week!
