DH made it home safely this afternoon from his golf trip. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so they were only able to golf on Thursday. He sent me a picture this morning of snow! That was in the Black Hills. Here we had rain last night. It was in the 60's and cloudy/humid today. We took Feisty Pants for a long walk tonight and it started misting, by the time we got home we were soaked and the dog needed a bath. It's raining now and only getting in the mid 40's tomorrow, yikes! It's been so wet this spring.

My SIL asked me to bring dessert for dinner tomorrow. For some reason I thought I should make 2 types of bars. So stupid. And one of them is so good, I overindulged. Not a LC day. I'll try to send the extras home with mom and dad, DD, and leave some for my brother and SIL too.

No Q in utility today, but we did qualify in Open B and took second place. One more trial tomorrow then the trek home. Last night a group of us went to a brewery for dinner. The menu included a whole page of Keto choices. I had a wonderful pan fried salmon and splurged on 5 carbs of Keto chocolate cake. Geez it was good. Not sure it could be that low in carbs.

Hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Woubbie--- Chew-o-rama !!! LOVE it!!! so accurate for when I'm in an 'o-rama'. Thank you.

During my sleep I came up with how to talk to HSM. Anyway, ideas but it takes two. LOL!!! We hashed it out. I asked her not to over talk me and to let me finish before responding. LOL!! Each time she talked over me--I shut up--waited-- and started all over with the prelude--please let me complete all points before responding. Seriously, I fiinalee walked away. I told her my bottom line and got ready to go to teach. She doesn't know how to problem solve. Sad!! I remember this when I was young. I knew what I wanted---but didn't open my brain to see all ways to get it accomplished. Now, my brain needs time to 'see' the challenge--- and once relaxed---many options appear. Breathe in . . . breathe out!!!

I taught CrossFit for Water this morning. Small class but they worked hard and there wasn't talking. I visited my 91 yof and told him I couldn't provide a shower chair. The legal ramifications for me was scary. He wasn't happy but then I said I'd have lunch w/him and he cheered up. He won't remember anything by 2:00 today.

I stripped my bed and will enjoy making it with clean crisp sheets. I washed a load of towels and I have whites soaking in a bucket with an oxygen type soap. My socks needs extra cleaning---I sweat and then walk through the house & down into the basement and they get dirty. Also, pulling weeds, I wear my rain boots and the dirt, etc. goes down the boot and the dirt soaks into the socks.

I will start my training for Connected Warriors yoga tomorrow afternoon. I'm excited to be able to 'give back'. Hugs to All!!! It's amazing how our talents can be used in areas that never crossed my mind. YYYiiiippppeeeee!!!!

I am always boggled at how easy it is for me to not eat on the weekends. I got up at 9, have had 2 caloric mugs of coffee, but nothing solid and I'd rather sit here and type for a while longer than go get something to eat. My stomach is actually growling, but my mind isn't obsessing over eating.

Contrast this to my 8-hour chew-o-rama at work! As opposite as day from night!

Not much on today's agenda besides housekeeping. Tomorrow I'll see if Mom wants to go shopping, and I might stop at a couple of houses to drop off a postcard with my write-in info for the election on Tuesday. Gotta get that put together this evening. Luckily, the number of votes needed is ridiculously low, since it's just a primary vote.

I suspect I will cave to the doughnuts at the meetings today. I've been saved once already today from a McDonald's breakfast, the drive-thru line didn't move for a full minute, so I backed out.

Maybe I won't cave, but it's hard to be around doughnuts all day when I love them, one and all. Still, the slow McD line might be considered a sign that I should stay straight.

Maybe I should just fast today.

Food is everywhere! Adverts, social interactions, conditioning. It's really tough at times, especially adding in emotions.

There's been a little interest in my room for rent, but nothing has panned out. So I keep plugging along.

My mortgage refi is moving along, too. I changed companies, as the first one wasn't transparent and near the end, told me I was to come up with over $4k in cash!!!! To pay 150 less a month and increase my principal by more than 3k??? I think not. Scammers, as far as I am concerned.

Anyway, I went back to my original lender, and got everything in writing. Hopefully it will all be sorted within the next 3 weeks. A few extra bucks a month will help, for sure.

Not much else going on. My food sucks. Again. :( But at least I have taken the monsters to the park the last couple of days.

Something on NPR about a study that some are saying says that eating a low fat diet prevents breast cancer. The study showed that those who were told to reduce the amount of fat they ate and to eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains had a lower risk of dying from breast cancer. This is over several decades. What the NPR article actually got right was that they have no way of telling whether it was cutting the fat or increasing the fruits and/or veggies and/or whole grains or the weight that the participants lost that reduced the risk of breast cancer. Good for them for not just going for the big low fat headline!

Isn't it crazy how many things tell us to eat? Like yesterday. It was a cold (high of 48, 25 degrees below average!), gray, rainy day. A perfect day for curling up under a blanket with a cup or mug or plate of something. Not! Fortunately I wasn't really interested in food, but was surprised at how easily and casually the notion popped into my head.

High today of 64, then back into the 50s for several days. Windy but dry today, rain again for the next several days. I'm hoping the wind and sun will dry out the garden area I just dug yesterday so I can dig in some peat moss. I have a feeling it's probably too muddy, though.

Farmers Market this morning, cards this afternoon. Will probably walk over to the Farmers Market with Russell, since there probably won't be anything there I want to buy. It's hard to carry back much in the way of produce or (at this time of year) bedding plants when you're walking!
