MAW, the tornado was west of Seattle out towards the Penninsula, so not close to me. But we did have a massive windstorm yesterday that knocked out the power. More in the Friday thread...

Tomorrow's a half day, so I'm hoping to button up all the decorating and wrapping and food prep so Saturday can be a relaxing day.

George Mason asked: “Shall any man be above Justice? Above all shall that man be above it, who can commit the most extensive injustice? . . . Shall the man who has practiced corruption & by that means procured his appointment in the first instance, be suffered to escape punishment, by repeating his guilt?”

Ugh, now I've come down with a cold. Had a dry and scratchy throat last night and woke up during the night with a sinus headache and stuffy nose. I've been sneezing all day. Tis the season!

Off to get the Christmas tree up, finally.

Except for the cough and being tired, I feel pretty good today--which means I have to get back to the laundry. I guess all good things have to come to an end at some point. (GRIN)

There will be no white Christmas here--sunny and dry with a chance of a storm the day after--probably related to your storm MAW. We could sure use a couple of big storms but it doesn't look promising. I also need to get back to working with the pup--at his age, taking a week off from training is not a good thing. But I am on the downside of finishing the applique blocks for my blanket/quilt. Finishing up the last one today and have about half of the squares attached to the top piece. It will be about 30" by 50" when finished. It is not a traditional quilt in that the top is made of one piece of wool fabric with the squares hand sewn to that, but the front and back will be quilted together. And it is easier on my hands than finishing the pincushions were. I am really enjoying the process and already contemplating the next project.

Enjoy your day, whatever it brings.

Hello Thursday & Team! My HSM said he's moving out to his own house in the Country Jan 1st. LOL!!! He didn't give me 30 days notice so he forfeits his security deposit. I also reminded him that the bedroom and bathroom need to be PRISTINE. He has today off so he'll 'work on it'. LOL! I shared that it was time for him to live in a place where he could make the decision of cleaning, organizing, etc. "youngsters' have no idea how to maintain a house, appliances, toilets, shower stalls, floors, light fixtures, etc. But, those things are NOT important to them. They just keep their phone in one hand and do 'whatever' with one hand. LOL!

My eyes are better balanced today. Nauseous feeling is gone. Whewww!!! still doing double drops. All of my reading glass strengths are being rotated. Sight changes from hour to hour. It's a process and journey. Breathe in . . . breathe out!!!

Dental appointment at noon. I'll leave a little early to be able to drive at a safe speed.

My neighbors to the north bought a bigger house and are moving out. They aren't going to put their house on the market until Spring. They'll leave it heated and will visitl. Life changes!

I'll visit my 90 year old after I run errands and purchase a steak. I liked the poster on SparkPeople re: cravings and what your body is lacking. It makes sense.

Hugs to All. It's rainy here and temps are up. Weatherman suggested his fear of our crocous and tulips coming out of the ground early!! It has happened previously!!

YYYYiiiippppeeee!!!! Changing---nothing stays the same!!! Leone, how do you feel?

Hugs to Surround Us All as a Group! Connie, in WI
The pleasant thought for me today is LUCKY.

Wow, you are organized! Even if something goes sideways, you've done your best to keep everyone on track.

I talked to my mom last night about Christmas plans - she wants cheeseburgers for Christmas Eve (from the really good place with grass-fed beef), and we're doing Swedish Meatballs and green beans for Christmas Day. And New Year's Eve is going to be Chinese takeout... Yes, there are some carbs in there, but fortunately, it's limited. I can handle this. I'm going to be disappointing some people with my plans, but my mom is not going to be here for a lot longer - I want to spend time with her for as long as I can. Within reason.

Today I'm off to a client's office - she says she "needs me all day", but when I pressed, it turns out she has an appointment out of town at 3:30... So the message I really got is that she feels overloaded by business changes and it's probably a list I can knock off in a couple of hours. She tends to try to do too much too soon, so I'll have to back her off from some of it. I'm predicting... emoticon

I'll go straight from there to the PT (about 45 minutes of driving one way), and then home. I'm hoping the PT job is calm. He sort of spun out on cash flow on Tuesday and I gave him a lot to think about - hopefully, it's all settled down in his head by this afternoon!

Well, the first of the big days has arrived. Brothers 1 and 2 and SIL arrive today. Am I ready? What a stupid question! Of course not. Will I be ready by the time they arrive? Well, I'll be as ready as I am.

I spent almost two hours at Winco yesterday. I wish I'd worn a pedometer! I went back and forth and back and forth and round about. Will go to three more stores this morning. Fortunately they're all on one street and practically on the way the Mom's house. And lots more cleaning to do, of course. I got most of the surfaces cleared off, though, which is the biggest chore. After all, God invented horizontal surfaces to put things on!

I put each day's menu on a separate piece of paper at Mom's house, including where we'll be eating and who is providing what. Today's is stuck on the fridge with a magnet, and I told my brother and SIL who will be staying there about it and where the others are. They are supposed to "discover" them and make sure Mom knows the plans for the day. Some meals will be at my house, some at hers, I'll be taking stuff to meals at her house, she'll be bringing stuff to meals at mine, I have some ingredients she'll need, she has some ingredients I'll need. Coordination will be essential! Though I do plan to make up a list of what I need to get from her and what she needs to get from me.

Russell and I slept on the twin bed in the spare room last night, so I could change the sheets on my bed and get them washed yesterday. Fortunately he's (Russell, that is) is just a little dog. A twin bed is not very big for the two of us, especially since we're used to having a full size bed. He sure kept me warm, though, snuggled up that close.

They way we have a 40% chance of a white Christmas this year. That's based on current and forecasted meteorological conditions. Which is mighty close to our historical average of a white Christmas 38% of the time. Not very white - days are supposed to be in the 30s and 40s, so there shouldn't be any accumulation ahead of time. They are predicting a 40% chance of up to an inch on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Sure hope it holds off until all the travelers get to wherever they are trying to get to!

Have a wonderful day, everyone! Enjoy the last day of fall!
