Happy birthday Connie.

I use a down pillow because I like just a little lift. But pillows are really personal.

Laundry today, dog training tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Let me wish you an early Happy Birthday, Connie. Hope you have a wonderful day/year! I may not have time to check in here tomorrow as we have DH's family coming for dinner tomorrow night, maybe 15 total.

It was an eventful day at work today. Found out our IT Director is leaving the IT Dept. He says he wants to be in a non-IT role at our organization, but apparently is still looking at the open positions. He hired me 17 years ago and I'm sad to see him go. I'm not too surprised though, we're going through a huge reorganization and it's been kinda weird. Also my manager announced that she's filled one of our two open positions so that will help a lot. Last but not least, we can now work from home one day a week. Which is great, but other IT people in our organization get 2 days so not sure why we only get one. I'm happy about it, but it won't be enough to keep me there if things don't improve over the next few months.

One of the most important keys to Success is having the discipline to do what you know you should do, even when you don't feel like doing it. - Unknown

Hello Team! I'm home from MN! WOW! A full and busy weekend.

Pillows---I'm married to feather pillows. I have 6 of them in my bed. I mix and match depending on sleeping on my side, my back, my tummy. I need from for my knees & arms also. LOL! My neck has been thanking me a lot since I read about the different sizes needed for each sleeping position. I think I found the article here on SparkPeople.

I walk into my 69th year tomorrow. Yyyiiipppeeeee!!!! Life is Great! My birthday gift to myself last year was my tour to Cuba. Since my February FL trip took an unexpected expensive flip & I took my Uncle out East in May, I have to be more conservative this year. I've set up a total car detail---inside and out.

Now, my Tuesday is crazy & I'll need rides to and from all of my obligations. I'll walk to a few of the locations but it will take 5-6 hours to detail, engine, trunk, outside, and inside the car. I live downtown & the detailer is within that distance. He'll drive me to teach my 9:00 class so that's the biggie.

I'm a very lucky Woman! Yyiiippeeeee!!! Hugs to all!

Hugs to Surround Us All as a Group! Connie, in WI
The pleasant thought for me today is LUCKY.

And DO IT

I can honestly say that the $150. is a worthwhile investment if it's really the perfect pillow. Your head spends 2,920 hours per year resting on that bad boy! It works out to .41 per day for the first year! Good ROI!

I also don't care for the *my pillow*. I would rather have the memory foam ones. (I have one in my rv)

I'm hearing a lot of good things about "My pillow" It was $49 at the store the other day. I have the memory foam one, because I have woken up with neck pain, and it worked for awhile, and I'm starting to get the pain again. So I have been contemplating this one. I was in an auto accident a long time ago, and one of the things I did was jam my neck against top of car. (wasn't wearing seat belt) only a couple of blocks from my house. Figures. Old lady turned on a red turn signal, as I was getting across the intersection, I hit her broadside. One thing I noted was her station wagon was loaded with a wheelchair, walker etc. At least it was on her passenger side, and I was doing 35. So she didn't get hurt, but I sure as heck was! My bad about the seat belt. Anyway, the therapist said future wise, expect bone spurs in my neck. So pillows are sometime not an option.:(

A pretty mild Monday for me. I'm oh so glad that I knocked out my emails on Saturday. Today was just the weekly Monday tasks.

I haven't been sleeping great the last few nights and I'm not sure why. I wonder if it's because DH insisted that I stop using the AC? The fan kicks on and off all night even if it doesn't blow cold air but it does still blow straight at the bed. When we had those unseasonably cool nights a week or so back it made sense, but maybe I should leave it set on 72 again and see if that makes a difference.

I need to replace my pillow too. I had one that I loved, but it finally started showing its age and I've been trying to replace it. No go. I can't find anyone that manufactures this kind anymore. I might have to buy the foam at Joanns and make my own. :(

Monotonous Monday for me--really pretty day, seasonably hot (90s) and sunny, but I'm stuck at my desk making incremental changes to my primary work project: Make one change, save, build, review, accept or reject, move on to the next. Over and over and over again.

At least it's a standing desk. I recently got a wobble stool so I can fidget more effectively while sitting/leaning, and they've just switched out my earlier raised platform for a VariDesk, so I can play with heights depending on how I feel. Later in the week, I'll be properly appreciative, but just now...it's Monday.

And lunchtime, more or less, but I'm not interested in lunch. I'm interested in dinner! Trying to figure out who I can invite to a newish Thai place near work. I've been once, but my companion had (religious) dietary restrictions. Seriously limits the options for sharing, plus it didn't feel particularly polite to order the blood sausage. So I have to go back! (I will sometimes order a steak if dining with a vegetarian, but will not order steak tartare in that case, and depending on the diner, may adjust my usual rare to medium-rare or even, in particular circumstances, medium.) Among other lovely LC items on their menu, they have fried chicken skins. ...which, sadly, are not on their lunch menu.

Hope everyone--including me--finds something to enjoy today.

SJP

I think the man in the white house, needs to rethink his thoughts about global warming. I don't recall so many hurricanes at one time, in succession.

I read up on Macrobiotic at one time, and thought it was just too strict a challenge. I do love Miso though. When I ate rice and shrimp I used to make a butter, mushroom, rice, shrimp and Miso stir fry. With Macrobiotic there would be no shrimp of course. I'm headed down that path to Vegan. I guess you can use tofu or tempeh instead of it.

It's been a while since I looked for alliterative words.

Let's have a Macrobiotic Monday and be sure to get in lots of good little critters for our gut biomes, and a Maintainable Monday as we live and eat in way to have long term health and fitness and not just a short term diet!

I am so glad that my niece and her fiance and cat are off of St. John! Hurricane Maria is supposed to hit the island head on. It's also supposed to hit Puerto Rico, but at least that island has better infrastructure and facilities left after Irma. And I think Heather et al were supposed to get stateside yesterday. Please send prayers and good thoughts and good wishes to island and the islanders.

I'm off in a few minutes to take Russell for a walk, then walk to campus for my exercise class, then walk back home. By the time I get home and showered I should have an hour or so to study for my Japanese class. How do kids do it? How did I manage to take up to 24 credits a semester when I was their age? Of course, if I just drove to campus and stayed there it wouldn't take as much time, though I honestly think it takes about the same amount of time to walk there as to drive. Japanese class this afternoon, then home to study for Monday's class. I'm spending 20 hours or so a week on this one class! I guess my brain isn't as young and flexible as it used to be way back when.

Hope everyone has a great day!
